Paitope

To all Oro Kaivas around PNG and the world, today 21st January marks 60 years since Mt Lamington exploded and killed some 5,000 plus Oro Kaiva people in 1951. People at Hohorita, Kiorota and other villages are having special bungs to remember this event. Please spend some minutes to talk about and remember this event today with your family members.

Thank you,
Paitope

Hi
You said history might repeat itself per you letter in January.

Well what a scare throught out central orokaiva last night.

Please this should not happen because we are not prepared with our disaster and escape route and evacuation exercises or drills.

We may loose more than the 1951 eruption

Oetopa.

I believe that those who can throw away nearly a million at the casinos (they're actually using the3 casinos to launder ill got money), while carrying on like drunken fools, and wanting to screw anything that moves, are the ones who truly need to be blessed and saved by God.

Let's see if God allows them to be our leaders after the election to put the last nail in the coffin of PNG being a banana republic that people laugh at all over the world.

I believe that God will punish us for not actively defending his will by getting rid of such people, forceably if necessary. I believe God will allow such ungodly homosexual drunk gamblers to become our top leaders, maybe even become PM. This will be punishment for us being Christians only in name and not in action and allowing ourselves to be ruled by those who the devil has taken control.

Paitope thank you for the reminder. For someone, like most, born decades after but who lost a blood relative to the 1951 Mt Lamington eruption, January 21 will always be a day of great sadness and anger. Sadness for the lost of so many lives and anger at the loss of my uncle due to the way Papua was ruled during the colonial era. Where the likes of my uncle were jailed for not being present at the head count when the ADC called at our village in late September 1950.

You can HELP

If you have driven past Hohorita village lately, you will see a notice board erected on the roadside where a memorial monument is planned to be erected. It will include a death roll, names of all those who lost their lives in the 1951 Sumbiripa Eruption. If you have names of relatives who have lost their lives, please forward them to me so I can compare it with the official government record, and if not already recorded, will include the name. It would be helpful if you include full name and the village because the government record follows that format.
