This is very true. The Digicel is preying on the poor Papua New Guineans who lack the underdtanding about business and its concept.

Papua New Guinea is still in the stone age yet this very high and technically and specialised services.

Ofcourse, the Digicel will suck big times in PNG because the kind of services digicel providing and the technical-know how, the profit making concepts and the strategies used are very high where an average Papua New Guinean consumer can not understand anything at all.

Yes, digicel will continue to suck the wealth of the simple people as long as we continue to like to live in our simple comfort zones and do not want to understand and learn new things thus to move forward.

We will still be kept disadvantaged because no Papua New Guinean really understand how this kind of internationally known giants operate and make their businesses. Its really high and very cunning.

Bemobile is sinking fast and there are already bids to buy up a good piece of the company, one of them Digicel. If Digicel can get a monopoly, they can continue the poor service AND raise their prices on it. That's what they're hoping for.

It's all about maximising profits, folks. Delivering good service is ONLY a consideration when a company is convinced that delivering good service will actually maximise profits. Digicel is not convinced, that's why apart from honouring its rollout agreement of new towers and geographic extensions of service for 2012, they don't seem to be investing much of anything else in the business.

Maybe the government need to allow more competion against digicel. Should that have some solution to it?? Just a suggestion.

You right but by saying digicel is providing the needed services to the rural population in the country. However, our people, disadvantaged people including yourself do not realize the other side of the service.

The simple reason being that most Papua New Guineans no not know the concepts of making business and at the same time lack the understanding about the importance of country and the businesses opportunities in here. If digicel knew that half of the citizens are educated about business and are cost conscious then I beleive, digicel would not manipulate the consumers in a cunning way to suck up everyone who uses the service.

Wait until you try digicels global roaming overseas for a few months.

I don't care and my many rural people don't care about the concept and the understanding about business opportunities. We don't care!!!!! We the rural people lack basic and quality education, but now you want us to understand the business concept. Well my countryman, pls keep the business studies to yourself, don't lecture us here.

Digicel is like many other companies operating in PNG, but the services Digicel provide is much appreciated by the rural populace. Again, we don't care about how much the digicel is making bcos if we start thinking about it we will be start worrying about many millions of kina taken out by logging campanies, mining giants and many many more companies operating in PNG. So my countryman, we are happy digicel is here in PNG.

In Aus and USA (don't know about countries in Europe), you can't request for credit and no "pls call me". Also, there are no mobile coverage in many countrysides in Aus and US. I think Digicel, being innovative and creative, is linking PNG rural communities with the world.
