I received a postcard in the mail today for a public
reception at the Art Museum in regards to their hockey
exhibit. It is slated for March 13 from 6-8. The postcard didn't list any prices to get into the exhibit.

My understanding from previous articles is that the exhibit is free, but they will accept donations. I would call the museum to verify though.

I went to the Art Museum tonight to see the Spirit exhibit. (I didn't realize until I got home that some big art exhibit was opening tonight also!). We went with the hopes of seeing other hockey fans, but were disappointed in the whole event. For one thing, there wasn't hardly any hockey stuff there (I remember someone else commenting on this on this board a few weeks back). Also, one of the people that donated stuff to the exhibit, said they had 4 boxes of stuff, but the people at the museum stated they didn't have the room for it all! Anyway, the night was a real bore. Just as we were leving, Cameron, Paul B and Jellito were walking in. I wonder what they thought of it. They also wanted to charge me $7.00! I said I had called and they said it was free! They did let me go through without paying...thank goodness...it wasn't worth much more than that!

Trina, I think someone got their wires crossed on this one. I knew as soon as I found out they were having the opening of the Goya exibit opening Tonight they picked a bad night for the Saginaw Hockey thing. I think the other post, by Sparky68, was refering to the Hockey Exhibit at the Castle Museum. The Art Museum Exhibit was supposed to be a grafic arts display of hockey in Saginaw. This would include printed and promotional items as opposed to memorabilia and things like that. The $7.00 they tried to charge you was "The Non-Member" rate for the Goya Exhibit. I haven't seen both Exhibits so it is hard for me to judge. All in all, I think they could do a better job of putting these exhibits together and promotion.

Went to see the hockey display at the Castle Museum Wednesday and was, to say the least, disappointed. Really not much to it. The best part was the few photos hanging on the walls. Oh well . . .

It sounds like neither exhibit is as great as they made it out to be! Thanks for the input BBox and Archie. I am curious to see the one at the Castle. I thought I read somewhere that if you are a season ticket holder you get in free? Of course, it doesn't really matter...their admission free is minor compared to the Art Museum! (The Saginaw News had a little ad in the Hot Ticket for the exhibit at the Art Museuam). I can't believe they even dare to promote it with the lack of hockey stuff actually available to view! Oh well.
