The Spirit web site says Dix got his 2 games for inciting the opposition bench...just what did he do or say??? Did he call them out to duel..yapping unkind words or an evil sneer??? Anyone who saw this please help out..

I think someone overreacted here. Sure didn't look like a 2 game deal to me. Steve was just being Steve. It looked to me like he was kind of giving the "you want a piece of me" thing to the Guelph bench. You know I guess you could call that "inciting" but nothing happened so as far as I am concerned is was just "Trash Talkin'", hardly a two game offence. I think the ref's were thinking they might have another bench clearing thing on their hands and wanted to prevent it. I can understand giving Steve the boot for the balance of the game, but a two games on top of that, no way. Sorry to all the fans who will not get to see Steve play anymore this year. Just another reason you should have signed up for the bus trip.

The suspension may have something to do with the nice roundhouse left he threw (& landed) on someone on the bench. Still not worth 2 games, tho. It's hockey, toughen up! The guys on the Guelph bench were chirping at him & just egging him on, knowing he'd do something stupid, & sure enough, thwack!

Did he really land a punch??? From my angle, it looked as if he threw a "fake" punch and was just taunting them. Heck, it looked like he was a good 3-4 feet away from the bench the whole time. It sure was funny to see the whole bench fall back in their seats when he did it. He laughed all the way off the ice.

Too bad he got two, it would have been great to see him in the final home game.
