Thanks for taking down the name-calling thread. I don't want to play that way but I'm not going to be insulted by those two.

As I predicted on Sunday, there would probably be a coaching change. Read your papers tomorrow and find out all the details. I knew about yesterday but was sworn to secrecy.

The new coach will be either a former Chicago Wolves assistant and someone currently working in the OHL or it will be a former Winnipeg Jet. Interview process is up and running right now. Decision will be made I'm assuming by Thursday afternoon.

Moderator, do your best OHL ref and tell me what's allowed on this forum and what's not. I'm not attempting to disparage others' characters, but if I have to defend myself using free speech in a non-insulting fashion, I would hope you'll allow me that. I think I help this forum from a knowledge perspective and my opinions generate interest, but I need to know where the lines are. Thanks!

Bill - you have been ok for the most part as of late. (Read the post I just put up about pulling threads. It is directed at everyone, not just 1 person.)

*Bill, I edited your post just a bit to keep it from starting WWIII.

I'm glad you can see my point and accept it! I'll admit, I can be a little Matthew Barnaby-ish sometimes. I just don't like getting hit from behind! Thanks for editing that, I did want the relevant info to get out to the people who visit here, instead of just heresay and innuendo (no names, no names!).

The coaches are listed under the "Team" area not the "Front Office" area. Not saying how long it will be up but as of 8:37pm both gentlemen were still on the web site as head coach and assistant.

Out of curiosity, I'm just wondering does anyone know why it takes so long to find out info on the Spirit website? Like with trades, players being dropped, suspentions, etc? I don't hardly ever read about stuff there until a week or so after I hear it here.

The Spirit web site is actually pretty good compared to other OHL sites. The put trade info up pretty fast. Don't confuse trades with drops. They have never mentioned players who were released. I think it is an effort to keep things positive. The news is never about who was traded as much as it is who or what we got in return. Keep it positive and looking forward. That kind of thing. You just have to leard to use the site. Look at the team roster for changes. Take for instance the situation with Alex MacDonell. He is still listed on the team roster. He has not been traded and contrary to what you have read on this board, has not been signed by another team. The official word is he was placed on recallable waivers. Before he can be signed by another OHL team, he must be released by Saginaw. It doesn't look like he will be back, but you never know. As of right now, he is still the property of the Saginaw Spirit. Until that changes, you won't see anything about it on the web site.

BP- Thanks for the knowledge. Now I know. I do keep track of the roster, but you pegged it when you said about the drops. I hadn't been looking at it that way.

What the heck are/is "recallable waivers"? Is that something new? I have never heard of that before.

way to go bill on the breaking news. i am as happy as everyone else that we are getting a new coach, well probably not as happy as the players.

as for the who the new coach will be. i have talked to someone who is pretty informative and he said that they are talking with the coach from the us under 18 team.

my personal preferrence is that it would be the coach that posts here, reggie dunlop. it would be good to see some old time hockey when the scouts come to town with contracts in there pockets.
