Hey you all. I just got to see Dr. Chud and the X-Ward recently. Here is my review of the show which happened this past Mon in San Antonio, TX Oct, 18, 04. I hope you all enjoy it. Pix will be put up in the Dr. Chuds X-Ward Yahoo Group pretty soon as well. Here goes......

Well, I got to see Dr. Chud's X-Ward this past Mon and I must say that the show was phenomenal. It all started when Fausto, a friend, and I were waiting at the club and we got to witness the arrival of Dr. Chud and the crew. It was really cool. Dr. Chud got out of the rv and greeted us and even invited us to hang out in the rv for awhile until the club opened when they could start unloading. It was kinda shocking too cause the good doctor remembered who I was and I had only met him 2X before. It was nice though. Anyhow. So, we go into the rv and meet the guys and we even get to meet Graverobber which was really neat. We talked for awhile or whatever and the guys start building a gurney. Meanwhile, Fausto, Graverobber, our friend, and I go to the different clubs to promote X-Ward to get people to come out to the club. Finally someone opens the club and the guys start unloading and all 3 of us even get to help set up and stuff which was quite an experience. We got to see the boys do a quick practice run which they did Lost in Space. Even the practice run was really good. Anyhow. The time came for the show to start and the bands started playing. During the show, we got to hang out with the merch girl (Alyssa) and the lighting tech (Laurie) and we managed to get our stuff signed by X-Ward and the girls while we were waiting till X-Wards time came to play. The girls were really neat and it was an honor to get to hang out with Dr. Chuds crew. When X-Ward finally got to play, the show was the best I had ever seen. They started out with an awesome entrance. Sal B, Fish, and Al X were dressed in white scrubs and the good Doc was dressed like a doctor of course. They came down from the front doors to the stage and even played out a Frankenstein thing where Sal revives Dr. Chud. Then they hit right into the songs which were all great. Those guys really know how to put on a show with tons of energy. We were all standing up front against the stage right in front of Dr. Chud and Fish which was great. We could see every chord that Fish was playing and several times he even got right in front of my face, really close. It all started with Powerless as the opening song and Fausto and Graverobber got up on stage and did backing vocals towards the end of the song. In fact, they got to get up on stage and do several songs alongside Dr. Chud which was a great memento. What was really awesome as well was when Dr. Chud was singing and pointing right at me during Spiderbaby and Goodbye right in front of me. He even dedicated Bury You Alive to me which was really awesome. I thought I was gonna pass out....lol. During Wings of the World, he got down from stage and was running in a circle with his arms out and several of the audience members got to join in. At the end, Dr. Chud asks which last song to do which Fausto yelled out Heavy Metal and X-Ward went right into it. Most of the audience members got to go up on stage and sing with Dr. Chud. It was a really great sight to see. After the show, everybody just chilled out for a while and we talked to the guys and congratulated them on a show well done and Dr. Chud even gave me the wristbands that he was wearing during the show. Then they started taking everything down and packing it and putting it in the trailer. When everything is done, we got to go back into the rv and hang out for awhile more with the guys and even got some last pictures to finish off the roll. I got lots of hugs from the good Doc himself and was even deamed as one of the Head Nurses. All in all the show was just really fantastic and I can't wait till the next one. It was definitely worth the 3 hour drive to get there. Hopefully they'll even play my town one day. For all you cats out there who haven't gotten to see Dr. Chud, my advice is to go and show them your support. You definitely won't be disappointed.
