Not sure how you can say they "covered" Misfits songs since Doyle and Dr.Chud helped write every song they played. They have just as much a right to play those songs as Jerry does with his new line up. Besides, Gorgeous Frankenstein only has 8 songs of their own...how else did you expect them to fill the entire 2 hour headlining set?

There's my 2 cents.........

i really expect a headlining band to have enough of their own material to fill a set.

1 ALBUM OUT = 8 SONGS.Would you rather have them play 8 songs for 30 minutes and leave??????

Besides you've got 50% of the the Misfits on stage so why not play some Misfits music?

I can't wait to see them!

Anonymous are you 12? Why would they play new material before it's released?? That's like telling everyone what you bought them for Christmas 2 months before they open their gift.

Well I'm glad Gorgeous Frankenstein got your money. HA!

are you kidding? a lot of bands play new material live before they record it. it allows the band to gauge how well it may do as a recording to sell.

Who cares. G.F. is awesome!
They obviously peaked your interest if you went.
Most of Michale Graves set is Misfits ****... all of Jerry's set is Misfits ****... some of The Undead's set is Misfits ****... even Danzig does a couple of old Misfits ****.

I think it would be awesome to see them together and do Misfits ****.
I'm sure after the next album hits they will do more original stuff live.
Give it a chance, the debut album only release not to long ago.
Don't like it, don't go to the show. Every response I've heard about the shows (except forthis one) have been good.

It's ****in' Doyle and Dr. Chud.. two of the best Misfits EVER back together again, plus Goolsby, you can't ask for more than that. And George!

THAT'S AN ALL-STAR LINE UP TO ME!

Saw them at the Masquerade in ATL

Gorgeous Frankenstein put on a brutal show, despite the fact that there was less than sixty of us in the hall itself. They have excellent stage presence and Ghoulsby is a wonderful vocalist. He has a great range, and is a very nice guy. CHUD is an awesome drummer, now with double bass (yay!) and -extremely- nice; he seems to enjoy talking to fans and getting pictures. Doyle still shreds like one mean mother, stomping around the stage and leering into the crowd whilst huffing and puffing (all without losing the wad of gum he constantly chews, talented man.). George was dancing her rear end off, in platform boots. I definitely give her props for that. Overall an awesome show, even though Doyle has a tendency to book it back stage to shower and not have his picture taken. Two broken thumbs up, I would definitely see them again when they do another tour.

I heard they did a Motorhead song. Maybe some sort of jab at Jerry since he's touring with them now?

Motorhead

Possibly, since both bands are kind of just rolling along even in their old age. But, that isn't to say that the current 'Misfits' and Motorhead don't still rock

Las Vegas GF show

August 24 2008, 3:57 AM

i have to say im kinda disappointed. only in the fact that in my opinion, it was the venue. It was held at one of our local "all ages" joints and also IMHO not promoted enough. because of the type of venue it was, there was curfew in effect because here in vegas the kids go back to school monday. time only allowed for each of the 4 opening acts to do like 3 or 4 songs each. carbombs light show did rock! GF did rock the stage. but again IMHO the sound on vocals could have been a touch better(but then again, ive been spoiled by seeing Chud & Co at a different venue). Chud and Doyle got TONS of shouts and applause. George tried to get the crowd going, but i dont think they knew what to expect.there was about 50-60 people there. and i really hope GF got a decent cut of the cover charge considering it was $20 and everyones set was cut short. Everyone kept shouting "scream" and other 'Fits songs. A good selection was played. I happen to like DevilGirl the best! we also got the motorhead/led zep finale. i was a little surprised but after reading the previous comments i get it now and agree if they wanna play it, so be it and let the rock come forth! Chud was gracious as usual coming out from breaking down his set to say hi (he kinda remembers me from numerous vegas and la trips). we also got to take pics with the elusive Doyle, he was kinda surprised when i said ive been waiting close to 10 years to meet him since my first 'Fits show in '99. These guys know its the fans that make them who they are and are appreciative to hear the kind words and get grateful hugs from fans :D oh and beware the moshpit!! there was a decent one during more than a few songs! I hope any of you who have upcoming shows near them get to go see them!! its worth it to see Chud and Doyle together!

F*$k it, I'm taking my camera and filming whatever I can as well as taking photos. The way I figure it's free advertising for the band and people can see and hear how good they are and go see them.

SAUGET, IL 09/01/08 SHOW REVIEW

September 2 2008, 5:39 PM

What a night!! As some of you might know I took my son to the GF show as it was his 8th birthday 09/01/08 so the concert was my birthday present to him since Doyle and Dr. Chud are his favorite Ex-Fits. I had no idea though how cool a birthday it would be for him.

The 1st band Undead Spetsnaz was a local St. Louis band and actually got my son on stage and had the whole crowd of about 300 wish him a happy birthday and after the set he was given guitar picks and a set of drum sticks by them!

Car Bomb was next and they ROCKED!! The light show they have took a few minutes to get used to but overall it was a great set full of energy.

Next came Bella Morte and I've got to say I was impressed by their high energy level and stage presence. Even during a few of their "slower" songs they were all still jumping around like their feet were on fire. Their singer, Andy even gave my son a shout out from the stage since he was the youngest one there, in the front row, rocking out harder than half the 20 somethings that were there!

Afterward they all signed some merch for him and even gave him some free swag like a set of drum sticks, a button and a sticker for his birthday...thanks guys!

Finally GF hits the stage with Chud snearing at the crowd from behind his huge green drum kit they opened with Gorgeous Frankenstein (of course!)

Within 2 minutes George saw my boy rocking out, with full fiend skull makeup on and gave him the 1st backstage pass of the evening! He asked me what it was and when i informed him that he gets to go back stage to meet the band I swear he almost cried he was so happy!

It wasn't long before the rest of the band noticed my little rocker in the front throwing his fists in the air. Doyle several times came right up to him and close enough to get sweated on played right in front of him, making eye contact, nods of approval, a couple high fives and hand delivered two or three guitar picks!

During "The Hunger" George pulled my son on stage and I was able to get a picture of my son on stage with Gorgeous Frankenstein!!!

If you haven't seen them play live yet GO TO A SHOW!!!! They are awesome live and with Goolsby and Chud in the band their sound is spot on!

Once the show was over Dr. Chud and Goolsby came out to talk, sign autographs and pose for pictures. It was really cool to meet Goolsby in person and he was a very down to earth person and a great guy to talk to.

Dr. Chud was awesome as usual and he, my son and brother and myself all had a nice conversation and he wished my son a happy birthday complete with high fives!

We finally gt to go back stage thanks to Chud as the venue staff was trying to run us out because my son was underage. I have to say that meeting Doyle at first we were all a little nervous. That man is Huge! But it turned out he was cool as hell! He was really happy to meet my boy and told him he thought he was a cool kid for rocking out so hard. He posed for a couple pictures and signed some stuff for him and even asked him about school.

Then he takes us to the bus where we got to meet Chicken, Doyle and George's daughter. She immediatly brought out a bunch of toys and started to play with my son. By the way she's a very sweet and very well mannered little girl. Props to Doyle and George for raising such a nice kid!

It turns out Sept 1st is also Doyle and George's wedding anniversay so we gave them a life sized skull, a big bag of gum for Doyle and a homemade Bride Of Frankenstein anniversary card.

To sum it all up...it was one Hell of a good night and it just makes me want to go see them play live again as soon as possible!

Look up WOKEUPDED777 on Myspace to see photos and a live video of the show.
