Ken, are you out there? Has anybody tried this yet?
I was checking out the yesterdayusa.com site where James Drury reads Kirby Jonas at 9 on Saturdays. How do I know which streaming service to download? Should I choose Live 365, Real Audio, Winamp media or the new 85 player? I'm thinking of picking Real Audio, because that's the only one I've ever heard of before. After I download it, I just click on the James Drury link in that site at 9 pm on Saturday night and it should work, right? This oughtta be good. I hope it's in a standard format for Mac, and not an exe. file or something I can't accept. I'm usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but guide me through it if you can. Thanks.
G
I'm a total idiot when it comes to this stuff, and even I figured this one out, so Gina, you shouldn't have any problem with it. I did download what at the time they called Real Player. My computer is only so powerful, so the show keeps "rebuffering" right in the middle of play. That's the only reason I don't ever listen to it myself. I'm not sure if it lists James Drury's name there, by the way. I think it's called "Tumbleweed Theater," which is put on by my friend Duane Keilstrup. Check it out, but give yourself a few days in advance or you will just end up being frustrated if you try it at the last minute.
Sorry it took me so long to reply to your cry for help. Here are the steps to be able to listen to the radio show with James Drury, and this is for all others who would like to listen too. You can choose any of those stream formats that you want to listen with. A lot of people will already have some of them on their computer. The most popular are probably Real Player or Win Amp. If you don't already have it on your system then it will instruct you on how to download it for free. Once you have it on your computer, just click on the link for that format at the appropriate time (Saturdays at 9pm EST) to hear the show. A pop up box may open with some formats, asking if you want to save the location or open it. Choose the option to open and it will automatically connect and then start playing the show. Other programs will automatically open the show without asking first. I hope this helps you Gina and any others that had questions about how to go about hearing the radio program.
