WWow, where is everyone? I don't think it's ever been
this quite!!
I thought Kirby's update was great....our very own
movie star. Don't know when he'll have time to work this in and still write. I get tired just listening to his schedule :)
Yup, Lin, I can see it now...."I'd like to thank the Academy..." Kirby's acting debut will be a pretty exciting event. Not to put pressure on you, Kirb. heh heh. But, remember, no cardboard cutout acting is allowed. Try to act natural. Just be you. Er, on second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea :)
Don't worry. You'll be fine. Don't quit your day job just yet, though! Heh heh. You know I'm teasing. This is too much fun to resist. Or, maybe, the only part of Kirby we'll see will be his arm or leg or something obscure, and he'll be like - "There I am!" Honestly, Kirby, I think you've got what it takes to pull it off and do alright.
Will you still keep in touch when your name is in lights?
Wow, is it quiet or what...and it's only us gals that are looking in....have we done something to chase away the Guy's ....do we have some thing wrong that there not telling us??
Not me...just had a shower...how about you two ?? It's too quiet....or is it the quiet before the storm? Hay Gina...do you think if we start some strange topic the Guys will come running back? What was that you were referring to Gina regarding Kirby's acting...were you trying to infer that it may be a bit part....a bit of his arm... a bit of his leg..
Okay, it's me. I'll admit to not taking a shower today. I planned to work out early this morning, then the whole day went by before I got a chance to do it just before dinner.
Might have known..... But that can't be it after all...must be all of us.
I am going to Chester next Month in England to attend a gathering of dare I admit this here....the guy's are going to have a field day with me admitting this on this board. I'm attending a Euro Gathering with 40 other women who are all fans of the Magnificent Seven TV show not the original film but the more recent TV Show starring Eric Close, Michael Biehn, Antony Starke…..
So it should be fun and we all like the same sort of things and are all keen to watch more western movies while we stay in a hotel from the Thursday through to the Monday.
Warning flags have been posted and I think the male population will be leaving home as 40 females wandering around loose may frighten them. We plan to do a Roman tour and Ghost trail as well as horse riding and a Fancy Dress Dinner!
Hi Ladies. I should know better than to try to write
something this early in the morning. I have a question that has challenged man and his mate for years. If a man is in the woods and no woman can hear him, would he still be wrong?
I think you know the answer to this one, Dave.
Even if you sold your house and moved to another planet, you'd still be wrong. And if you died and went to heaven, you'd be wrong there, too. But, don't fret. You'll always have the last word..."yes, dear."
Hey Dave,
Maybe this should help clarify things. Memorize this, and you won't be wrong all the time.
Words Women Use
FINE ~ This is the word we use at the end of any argument that we feel we
are right about but need to shut you up. NEVER use fine to describe how a
woman looks. This will cause you to have one of those arguments.
FIVE MINUTES ~ This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes
that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so
I feel that it's an even trade.
NOTHING ~ If you ask her what is wrong and she says NOTHING, this means
something and you should be on your toes. NOTHING is usually used to
describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside
down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last
FIVE MINUTES and end with the word FINE.
GO AHEAD (with raised eyebrows) ~ This is a dare. One that will result in a
woman getting upset over NOTHING and will end with the word FINE.
GO AHEAD (normal eyebrows) ~ This means "I give up" or "do what you want
because I don't care." You will get a raised eyebrow "Go ahead" in just a
few minutes, followed by NOTHING and FINE and she will talk to you in about
FIVE MINUTES when she cools off.
LOUD SIGH ~ This is not actually a word, but is still often a verbal
statement very misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are
an idiot at that moment and wonders why she is wasting her time standing
here and arguing with you over NOTHING.
SOFT SIGH ~ Again, not a word, but a verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" are one
of the few things that some men actually understand. She is content. Your
best bet is to not move or breathe and she will stay content.
THAT'S OKAY ~ This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can
say to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard
before paying you retributions for whatever it is that you have done.
"That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and used in conjunction
with a raised eyebrow "Go ahead." At some point in the near future when she
has plotted and planned, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble.
PLEASE DO ~ This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you
the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing
whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance to tell the
truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay."
THANKS ~ A woman is thanking you. Do not faint; just say "you're welcome.."
THANKS A LOT ~ This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say,
"Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you
have hurt her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh."
Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only
tell you "Nothing."
Ruth (my other sister) says you are gone with Hammons to show the horses in SandPoint- and I could tell you were gone because I'd had no messages. Hope you travel safely. SMA
My reply...
Actually Probably head out this evening or first thing in morning...
Spent last Friday (13th) and Saturday (14th)as Film STAR ...
Film crew here from California to film a PROMO about a city kid in trouble so he is sent to an uncles farm for the summer. While there he becomes friends with a SHIRE HORSE and the plot thickens when the uncle has to sell the horse to pay some debts. In order to save "KING" from going to a butcher shop in France the neighbor girl helps him steal the horse from the feed lot and they ride off in the sunset.
Arlin Wareing (check out Wareing Shires) and Evonna Hammon are friends with Fred Weintraub a movie producer who used to own several Shire horses and he is the one pitching this potential movie with some of the big money men. It was origionally planned to be filmed in England but after seeing how well it went here in Southeast Idaho they are planning on possibly filming here if all goes well.
I was asked(I Volunteered) if I wanted to help.
First morning 06:30..
I thought maybe I could just help with holding horses or moving stuff but I was cast as one of the main characters..What a surprize.. I thought maybe I might have a bit part such as an extra just in the background in crowd scenes.
The voice work will be in the form of a narrator explaining what the story line is all about with no actual on film talking, but we did have suggested lines to say so they can do voice overs later .. It is just a promo to show the prospective investors about a city kid that gets sent to the country to live with an uncle.
I was paid as a horse wrangler but I was also the Dolly Grip, and helped hold and lead horses around. I provided some sheep for a farm effect while my dog Tick held them up close to the camera during the filming. They used footage of the front of my house as the Farm house where my wife (Maxine Waring) and I live.
They used my pickup as the camera truck and I drove, during the filming of the chase scene.... with the Kids riding double on Hammons horse Pete... and being chased by Arlin Wareing in a pickup. Part of the filming was at Wareings and some at Hammons and at the front of my house. The chase scene was out on the Rising River road near Gardners Golden Sunset Ranch. There should be a great shot of the kids riding double on Pete with the Sun Setting behind them as they ride along a ridge of ground about a quarter of a mile away from the camera.
We used about every Black Shire in the neighborhood to get footage of the BIGGEST HORSE. One horse was a closeup of it's face and the sunshine in it's eye. Another one was a cloesup of its HUGE FEET and Wareings 19 hand Wheelhorse Mark was filmed from a position down below level ground while Mark was standing on a raised area about a foot above ground level. The camera angle started out showing our City Kid asleep in the grass on a ditch bank and then pans up and up and up above him to Mark, and the finished shot almost looks right up Marks nostrels and should be some what like "King Kong" on top of the Empire State Building.
Each mornings sunrise was used to film half a dozen big horses running through the morning mist and out into the sunlight.
Two days of 06:30 till 21:00 shooting will produce about 3 to 5 mins of useable footage.
Most of the stuff was filmed at least twice...differant angles for some, as well as lets do it again just to make sure. I did most of mine on the first take ......wow is my arm tired from patting myself on the back......
I shared this with some of you as well as my friend Heavy and there must be a poem in here somewhere ...
Later..
I'm home from Sandpoint and the 26th annual Idaho Draft Horse International Horse and Mule show.
Hammons 4 horses did quite well. Placed fifth or better in all clases entered, except two. Most wagon and cart classes had at least 15 entries.
Pete and Cristie won $100 for a time of 32 seconds in the barrell racing event.
Wow, anotehr movie star in the making....where will it all end...we will have to learn to sing that old song.."Movie Star, Oh Movie Star....he thinks he is a Movie Star...ah.." Great Stuff there Mule...well done. Must have been hard work but great fun. I remember all teh fun at my High School in Lochaber when they made A Bonnie Prince Charlie Film and Kidnapped not hte old version but a more recent one done in the mid 70's the boys were all made up as clansmen. The Film Highlander was filmed in Lochaber and Shaun Connory used to visit Fort William all teh time, walking past us in the street and not getting bothered as he was such a common sight! Hope your having fun and get to write that poem when you get time! Janette
