HEYO.....

Hows the weather at your place ..
Here in South east Idaho it is dry and doesn't look like it will be much better for summer irrigation for crops.
Colorado has complained for two years about no moisture.. looks like they have a years supply delivered all in one storm.

New York are you still able to see the skyline ?

Any body in Tornado Alley get hit by a twister ????

Hope all are okay and pray that Desert Shield works out okay....

Rain

March 20 2003, 2:40 PM

Hi Mule

Virginia has under a heavy rain cloud for the past two days.
And it's cold. But 75 is expected tomorrow. Flood warnings are out for the Danville area. Luckily we're in hilly Campbell County north of Danville.

Just around the corner now

HAPPY SPRING!!! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY...
Now I sound like Guy! ;) Peace man.

Still waiting for the weather to stabilize here. On Tuesday, we got one teasing day of beautiful Spring weather. I went outside in SHORTS (of course, everyone who saw me had to comment on how white my legs are) and started to rake out the garden. It was sunny, those first birds of spring were singing, it was beautiful, and then WHAM-O! The next day it was Fffffrreeezing cold again, with sleet and snow.

Now, it's warmed up, but we're stuck under a cloud and rain cover for the next 4 days. But, ya know what? I DON'T CARE! I love this warm weather. C'mon humidity. I hope this summer is BOILING HOT till we almost suffocate, and have to go swimming every day. I hope it never, ever rains, and all we see is sun. Can you tell I have serious cabin fever and light deprivation? It has been one helluva winter, one for the record books, and I'm glad to see it go.

Pretty soon, the Forsythias will be in bloom for Easter, the Robins will come back and the street sweepers will take away all that road grime. That's when you know it's really over. Life is good. I'm not pregnant, I'm finished with school. Everyone's healthy for once, tonight Spongebob's lost episode will be on TV (and according to John, everyone in the world will be watching it) and opening day for baseball is coming up. What more could you ask for? hee hee. (Except for a million dollars)

Hope Dave has gotten dug out by now.
Glad to hear everyone's hangin' in there.
Talk to you soon.
Gina

Hi all,

The following cut and pasted news report pretty well sums up the weather we had in the Conifer/Pine area last week. You folks in Canada are probably use to this but we haven't seen this much snow since Norway in the 70's. Mule, I hope you folks in Idaho get some moisture soon. Dave

The significant amount of snowfall dumped into the area during the Blizzard of 2003 has crippled mountain towns, stranding between 50,000 and 75,000 people, Jefferson County said.

County commissioners have declared a state of emergency and the state Office of Emergency Management and the governor's office have been asked to provide additional support.

Approximately 5,000 to 7,000 homes in these areas have been without power for 72 hours, and for families that operate their own wells, the situation is even more dire because no power means no water because the wells have electrical pumps.

Emergency crews are having a difficult time reaching those who are snowed in and need help because nearly all the roads are impassible.

Approximately 400 to 500 miles of roads, mostly gravel, remain closed and will for some time. In some areas, snow depths are approximately 11 feet, and authorities right now do not have enough plows or the right type of equipment to plow it all, Jefferson County officials said.

The county has requested from the state equipment and crews capable of handling 8 to 10 feet of snow, tracked vehicles and helicopter support for emergency medical evacuation.

However, the governor's spokesman, Dan Hopkins told 7NEWS that the state will not be able to provide the help the county is requesting. The Colorado National Guard was brought in to the Conifer area to help dig out residents.
