Hey there, Marq!

Whatcha been up to lately? Milling flour for your birthday cake? Heh heh. I hope you know I'm just kidding. I figure you must have a good sense of humor, having Kirby as a brother and all. Well, whatever you do for your birthday, I hope it's special and memorable. Have a great day.

Did you ever find your cat? How is the corset coming along? What unique project are you working on now?

Thanks for remembering, Gina. How'd you find out it was my b.day? I do have a hand wheat mill, but it's a cheapo one, so when I want flour, I go to Mom's. Or buy some Bob's Red Mill flour (don't tell anyone!).
I've had to re-do the straps on my corset, but I think it will work now. The cat's not back, but at least we still have her daughter. And, unique projects? ME? I'm only sewing 21 pairs of bloomers for the girls, then I have to make petticoats for us all, and find a pattern for pantalettes for me. Oh yeah, and digging about a million raised beds in the back yard. And I'm still working on my drop-front Regency gown that has given me lots of headaches. Then I have to try out my new bonnet pattern, etc, etc.
Sounds like fun, eh?
And lest I forget, Ken's making a website for me, which should be up soon, SweetFelicity.com. I'm selling sewing chatelaines and eye pillows.
Hope your life is just as exciting!

I think Ken told me a while back. Is this the big three-o?

I was just kidding about the flour. Only you would REALLY have a flour mill :)

As far as the corset, wouldn't it just be easier to buy a wonder bra? I tried one on once, and... wow. It really is a...wonder. I wonder where all THAT came from ! It's a wonder that you can BE that moldable!

What's a chantelaine or whatever?

Let me know when your website is up, and I'll order an eye pillow for Sophia's bedroom.

Too bad about your cat. I guess she really is gone. Maybe someone took her in.

What kinds of plants are you growing? I got my flower seeds in, but then in snowed, and now I don't know what to expect.

Well, I'll let you get back to bloomering. Have fun!

Yep, I finally have to start acting like a grown-up tomorrow (well, maybe in another 20 years, anyway).
I hate bras, I'm always digging them out of my ribs, and I have dents in my shoulders from the straps. Corsets are mighty warm in the summer, though, so maybe I'll wrap myself in muslin, pioneer style (Just kidding).
A chatelaine is a sewing accessory. It has scissors, a pin cushion, and a thimble case on it so you don't lose them while you're sewing. I love mine, and they don't have any available online that aren't super expensive.
My eye pillows have sagebrush and lavender in them. They smell like the West!
I've made 12 bloomers so far, only 9 more to go!
\I planted carrots, turnips, radishes, and india mustard greens. Your flower seeds should be fine, unless they had sprouted already. They just wait till it warms up again, when it snows on them. We planted a climbing rose in the front on Saturday (ok, I did), and have two more bushes to put in. I'm trying to grow enough shrubbery in the front to mask the neighbors and the fumes from all the pickups truckin' around, and in the back I'm trying to block the trailer park across the alley.
See you,
Marq

Ooooo, I DEFINITELY like the sound of those eye pillows! Do you make them in different colors? Maybe I'll get one in indigo for my bedroom. Would you be able to make a ring-bearer's pillow? My son is going to be in my sister-in-law's wedding next year.

I was so traumatized turning 30. It took me a long time to get used to the idea. But, ya know what? I'm still as immature as ever, so, who cares? Some things never change no matter what the number on your birthday cake is. By the way, what kind of cake are you having?

My seeds had sprouted, but they all seem fine, so far. Roses are tough to grow. They require a lot of sun, feeding, care, mulching, pruning. The Japanese Beetles love them, so watch out! What do you do with mustard greens? Are they like Collard greens?

Talk to you later.
G

Gina,
I'm glad your seeds are okay. I think I could probably make a ring bearer's pillow, if you tell me how you want and I have a year to do it! My eye pillows are varying patterns of plaid, but I'm sure I could make one in indigo. They're small enough to stick in your underwear drawer when you're not using them, so they wouldn't necessarily have to match.
It's snowing here again, two years in a row on my b.day!
Take care,
Marq

Hey there!
I don't know much about ringbearer's pillow's, except that it should have a little ribbon to tie the rings on so he doesn't drop them while he's walking down the aisle. Can you imagine? :) My son would be mortified!!
Maybe something in a pretty cotton eyelet fabric with some lace trim, or maybe something more chic in satin.
I don't know. I'll have to snoop around a little and make some decisions.

I can't believe it's snowing where you are. Our weather here is just as whacky! The weekend was cool and overcast. Yesterday was sunny and clear and 50 ish. Today it's 80 degrees and beautiful! But, tomorrow it's supposed to get cold again. I can't take this craziness!
