Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th. We're supposed to get rain tonight! boo hoo. I hope it doesn't ruin the fireworks too much.
And Happy belated Canada day to all my Canadian friends. They do have a nice flag, but I really love the British flag. That is one nice-looking design, and so hip and groovy, too.
Happy Fourth of July to all my dear American friends. Bet the fireworks
were spectacular as you celebrated this very important day. Another great reason to get together with friends and family and party .
Canada Day here was wonderful.. A Rib fest just down the street
in our big park.. There must have been about 10,000.00 people there. Wall to wall people in the biggest park you can imagine,.. the biggest Beer tent ever, the best ribs imaginable and awesome fireworks while the spectacular full moon hung in the night sky ... People come from all over Ontario so you can imagine the traffic jams in my neck of the woods
I was in the country today visiting my date that Im "an item" with now . His Mom lives in Mennonite country . What an amazing feeling driving down the dirt roads with horse and buggy trotting right along side the car... I even got excited when I smelled the horse manure wafting into my car from the farms near by as it was a sign that I was truly away from the big yucky city....We enjoyed a concert put on by a popular Celtic fiddle group... Great day
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer . I so wish that I could get in here more and add to the wonderful conversations..
Okay, Elizabeth, it's serious now. He took you to meet his Mom. That's big.
Well, it didn't rain after all. It was sorta hazy all day, and then it cleared up nicely in the evening and the weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold. We went to our friend's house and had a great view of the town fireworks from their deck. It was a lot of fun and we didn't get home till 11, which was way late for the kids. Yeah, Mule, fireworks in the snow are pretty cool! It's so weird, too, because it's something I associate with summer.
Happy (late) 4th of July and Canada Day to all of our
friends to the North!
Gina, we had some rain yesterday morning but it was perfect by fireworks time. We can see most of them from
our back deck. It's great not traffic or crowds to fight.
Well, folks, our trail ride got rained out. I'm too good a trail rider to tear up the trails any more than I have to, and it was pretty mushy out there. We were also concerned that we couldn't get the truck and trailer out of camp, so we bailed out Sunday morning.
Anybody notice that TNT had a westerns festival with some pretty darn good movies? Maybe somebody out there is listening!
So sorry to hear that you got rained out. It has been so long since Ive been on a horse that I get teary eyed. I hope to get out to the country one of these weekends soon and get my fill.
I so wish I had time to take in those Westerns on TNT but by the time I get home from work and do the "MOM" thing it's way too late. I just picked up my very own copy of Tom Selleck's Quigly Down Under- Ive never seen it but even if it isnt the best movie ever I'll be content to sit and stare at Tom...:0)
Hi again,
I'm doing well. Keeping busy as ever around the house. Trying to make up for lost time, since the past three summers were spent in some stage of pregnancy. Any little thing I do takes forever because I have to stop about every 10 seconds and take care of someone. The fun never ends. Elizabeth, forget the laughs. Make sure new guy can cook or at least pick up the phone to make reservations. heh heh. Just teasing. Enjoy all the fun things you are doing together now in the getting-to-know-you phase.
Gina
Hi Gina,
Hang in there .. eventually they will become self sufficient... Cant imagine how busy your life is with all those little ones under foot..
I am still your humble fan :0)
Cookings good... Turning into a box of chocolates and a chick flick at midnight would seal the deal...
hahahah
Elizabeth that sounds like a great Canada Day. I've always wanted to go to the Mennonite and Amish areas in Ontario. I was up around Lakefield once during Thanksgiving and it was gorgeous. I haven't been to Ontario since th 1970's. We had a nice Canada Day here in Victoria at a car show and Salmon BBQ than out to the Legion for a Steak BBQ and dance. Kate
Gina read my responce to Mule on the Canada Day message about the fight over the flag design. We couldn't keep something with the Union Jack with the way Quebec felt and people were starting to burn the flag. We had to have something that was truly Canadian for all Canadians, British, French, Native Indian, Asian, Indo Canadian etc. Of course many of the Asian and Indo Canadian immigrints got in because of our British Commonweatlth link. LOL. Theres just something about the Maple Leaf that keeps us together.Kate
