We have had a few scattered rain showers here in South East Idaho. Just enough to make the alfalfa crop hard to harvest and get into storeage without losing some feed value.
This was on the local news last night..... Gina does it make you want to revisit Yellowstone?

MUDSLIDE TRAPS 16 VISITORS TO YELLOWSTONE
Jul 19, 2004
A mudslide caused by torrential rain has trapped 16 visitors and closed Yellowstone National Park's east entrance. Officials say no one is injured.
Rangers are trying to free three vehicles stuck in the mess on the entrance road near the Cub Creek Area Park.
Mud as deep as four feet covered the road at 8:00 p.m. last night from Cub Creek to an area about seven miles from the park's eastern boundary.
The extent of road damage is unknown; officials are expected to survey the area this morning.
We need the moisture but not the problems..... MULE
Wow, Mule, that's incredible! When we were there, the weather was so beautiful. It was perfect! Sunny and dry, crystal clear blue skies, not too hot, not too cold, tons of stars at night. Totally awesome. In fact, tonight I was walking home from my neighbor's house, and there were a lot of stars out, and with the little breeze in the air, it sorta reminded me of Yellowstone. I want to go back there so bad.
Anyway, I hafta say, our weather this summer has been terrific. It's been long overdue. I think it's rained here for about 5 years straight now. No kidding :)
I just looked at the date on your posting. It's my grandmother's birthday. If she were alive today, she'd be 109 years old. Wow. I guess there are almost no people left in the world who were born in the 1800's.
I just read on the internet that there are over 20,000 people alive that are over 100 years old. I read it on MSN.com news.
Mule as for the weather we had a really bad storm go through here last Tuesday with 80 miles per hour winds. There were so many trees blown down that some people were without power for a little over a week. It took me 3 days to clean up my place and my mother-in-laws place. But at least this time I didn't cut my leg open with a chain saw.
I hope everybody here on the forum is doing OK. Got go to work. Bye for now.
Wow. That's quite a number of people. I wonder what it feels like to be over a hundred. I don't know if I want to find out first hand. But I guess you'd have to be pretty healthy to make it to that age.

Late last week we had a state of Emergency declared a few hours drive EAST of here in Peterborough Ontario . Torrential downpours and backed up sewers caused over 6 feet of water in some areas that destroyed many homes completely. One poor fellow last ALL his possession, had no home insurance and had a new baby to care for. How sad . On the weekend another storm hit just an half hour from where we were staying on Lake Huron which is 3 hours WEST . It too flooded areas but not as bad as the previous week. We lucked out as we were visiting friends at their cottage. One minute it was sunny and gorgeous the next big fluffy grey clouds rolled in to block out the day light . Lots of thunder but just a minor storm for us
Looks like the rain is making its way around the globe.
Just got back from the Shawnee National Forest in the southern tip of Illinois. Very hot and humid, so we came back to northern Illinois a day early -- especially since we had a major storm Thursday night and the sleeping bag got wet. (We sleep in the nose of the gooseneck, we're the old-fashioned kind of campers. No cushy living quarters in our rig!) Absolutely stupendous scenery, though, and we met some very nice people.
Our hay contractor FINALLY cut our hay. We've had every-other-day thunderstorms since the first of June!
While we're waiting for Kirby to turn loose of his latest, you might look for a novel by C. J. Box in the mystery section. I found "Winterkill" while I was in southern Illinois and I couldn't put it down. There are two prior novels (I went to Borders and paid retail for them!) and a new one coming out in the fall -- as well as a new Michael McGarrity and a new J. A. Jance. Woo-hoo!
Hi Elizabeth I heard about that flooding in Peterborough. I've been to Lakefield to a friend of my dads who had resort cottages in the fall in the late 1970's. Kate
