I just noticed the recently posted pictures of Kirby.
Indian costumes are really great. I'd ask if they are
authentic, but knowing Kirby that is a silly question.
So Kirby where did you get the outfit?

Indian costumes

November 24 2004, 8:00 PM

Hi Linda,

Sorry for being so long replying, but I kind of forgot all about my own website. I hardly ever saw anyone in here when I'd come check in, so I got out of the habit.

The photos you found have been on the website for a few years, just well-hidden, I guess. Maybe we need to post them more conspicuously. I've had trouble telling people where they were myself.

I got all that authentic regalia from a good friend of mine, Clyde Hall. He is half French, half Shoshone, what they used to call a "metis." His gear is all either the hundred-year-old real thing or carefully crafted to look like it is. You can bet if I'm ever wearing Indian-looking clothing it was made by an Indian somewhere. There was, by the way, a real white man saddle underneath that pretty blanket, but Indians actually used saddles, just with a different look. They were not known to be real comfortable, so they used a blanket over them. Thus, the photos are absolutely realistic to the 1860's.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Kirby
