Hey over there in Scotland! Hope you have a great birthday and drop in here and say hi. I know, I know - you said Clint Walker's Birthday is around this time - was it May 26th? So happy birthday to him, too.
My sentiments exactly-Happy Birthday Janette.
May appears to be a big occasion for many people:-
1)Mother's Day
2)My Mother's Birthday-she turned 75 on May 16th
3)Clint Walker's Birthday on May 30th-who turns 78.
I have jumped the "Gun" and I have already given him my best wishes.
Enjoy the month-for all concerned.
Hey, George - my mom turns 75 on June 10.
Speaking of that - someone PLEASE, Please PLEASE tape that show - Into the West - on TNT at 8 pm that night. My sister has some big dinner thing planned in the city, and we won't be home till late. My sister- in-law is watching the kids, and I just know if I program the VCR to tape, it's not going to stay that way, because they'll be watching Tom and Jerry videos or something.
Janette's birthday is on May 28th, but I didn't want to forget.
Gina,
When I was a kid at school,I always enjoyed remembering historical dates.
Anyway,your Birthday is one day before my best mate on October 6th;
Both our mothers are celebrating their 75th this year;
I don't know if your dad is still alive but my father recently celebrated his 79th on April 2nd 1926.
Virginia Mayo(Who was Danny Kaye's Partner-during the 40's) passed away on January 17th-just one day before Danny Kaye's Birthday on the 18th And
Danny Kaye and Lou Costello both died on March 3rd.
I could go on but the timer on the computer is about to expire.
P.S. I am also a fan of John Garfield and Eddie Cantor.
Got to go now.
Hey George,
My Dad is going to be 78 on Oct. 29th. And your birthday is on the same day as my sister-in-law's - Aug 8th. I like all those date coincidences, too!
G
And, George - another date coincidence - my father's father died on Oct, 5th, 1927, just 3 weeks before my father was born - which is my birthday. Isn't that weird? He was only 34 years old. And the sad thing is, he probably died from an ailment that could have been treated with a common antibiotic that was not available back then. What a shame. And you want to hear something freaky? When my Grandmother was pregnant with my father, she went to a carnival with some friends, who talked her into going to one of the attractions - a fortuneteller. That was really taboo back then. The fortuneteller told her she would always have four people in her family- she already had two kids and a husband and she was pregnant with my father.
Gina,
Your grandad suffered the same fate as John Garfield.
He was the original "Rebel" before James Dean-he suffered a heart attack at the age of 39 in 1952.
He was a big star during the 40's and from all reports over 100,000 people attended his funeral.He "blamed "society" for his bad luck in life-on and off film.Enjoyed his work.
Anyway,I believe in fate and destiny-"life is a numbers game" as far as I am concerned.You can't "Change The Future".
I've heard of John Garfield, but I couldn't tell you anything about him. Wow. You really are a movie history buff! I can barely remember many movies after I see them, let alone the names of the actors.
