I figure this birthday merits a whole week of roasting before the actual day :) You know, Kirby, I wanted to get you a gift you really wanted, but you might have to wait till next year for the Spice Girls Reunion Concert Tour. In the mean time, Please accept my sincerest happy birthday wishes. I am glad to have you as my friend.

The floor is open, everyone! Roast away :)

Life does begin at "40".
Happy Birthday Kirby, I remembered mine -I was celebrating on the Greek Islands and I haven't been the same "Since".
Have a great day.

WOW! 40! Who would have guessed. Hope it is a very
special day because they really go fast from now on.
Plus every birthday that ends with a "0" will be a reason
to give you a very bad time. Hope your mountain run
doesn't make you feel older than you are.

Wish I had known about the Spice Girls I could have found
something close - the Fantana's have an album out. If
you have been to the movies lately you've seen the ad.
That should be close enough.

Happy Birthday Kirby.

Linda

Happy Birthday Kirby! 40 isn't so bad. Rumor has it that Gina hit that mark several years ago! I tried to remember what it was like to hit 40 but couldn't. 50, yes. 55, yes.

What?! I haven't even hit 39, which makes me TWO years younger than Kirby!! Almost 3, if you consider the fact the Kirby is now going on 41. :) DAVE!

Ahhh, yes, Kirby and Ginger Spice. I thought maybe he'd like Baby Spice, myself. Just not Scary Spice. She's SCARY! heheh

Kirby started running his 27 miler, and last I heard, he was heading into the Dakotas. Kirby Gump. Run, Kirby, Run!

Kirby is ignoring us. He does not want to face the fact that he turned 40. heh heh. Kirby, are you in denial? It's okay. We can help.

I had fun teasing you last week. But, seriously, I hope you had a very happy birthday and that the upcoming year brings you closer to achieving all your goals.

HEY EVERYONE!!!

August 19 2005, 11:40 PM

Hi all you jokesters!

Sorry for seeming like I was ignoring you. I guess that depends on your definition of ignoring. I think technically I was neglecting you. haha. To ignore you I would have had to know you were in here roasting me, but I didn't. I should have known Gina would start something up! Good ol' Geen!

As they say, I know you all wouldn't tease me if you didn't love me, so thanks a bunch for spending so much energy thinking of ways to make me feel old, and ways to make me feel twisted (like pretending that I am a Spice Girls fan). Faith Hill, Raquel Welch, Kathryn Ross, Monica Belucci. Now give me some names I can work with!!! Oh--and Debbie Jonas, of course. hehe.

I probably shouldn't have mentioned all those names. I'm sure that's giving Gina way too much information to work with!

Well, I should let you all know I didn't do my run yet. First off, I had to wait on doing it on my birthday because I couldn't get time off the night before and would have had to start out around 9:00, which would mean I wouldn't have finished until around 3:00 PM and some 90 degrees. Couldn't do it on Sunday, because Debbie would be in church when I got done, and I would have been stuck up on the mountain with no water. Then I had the desert trek coming up in two days, and I knew it would take me four good rest days to recover from my run. So it finally came down to just waiting until sometime in September, since I had missed my official birthday anyway. As Gina once told me, it's good enough to just do it when I'm forty, since I won't make it on my birthday.

In other news, Susie Solomon had a falling out with Holly, her partner, over, of all things--her new husband Daniel. I am very bummed out about that. They were such good friends. So they're selling Abacus Farms, and all of their beautiful horses, even Uno, the big Friesian stallion who replaced our Ulrik. That means that instead of waiting until the danger of a blizzard on Donner Pass is over, I have to rush out next month, the third week in September, and get my baby Cloud. At first, I panicked, but the more I think about it the more excited I become. I'm going to have Cloud here where I can take care of him, brush him, smell his muzzle--all those things that devoted horse lovers do. My wife never understood how I could think a horse's face smells good. I guess it's either born into you or it's not. Maybe I'm part horse. hehe

Anyway, September is going to be an incredibly busy month, and I'm afraid that my time on the computer, which has already gone to pot, is going to get even worse. If that happens, please know that I am thinking of you all, and hopefully when the weather turns cold I will be back. You all take care, and please don't forget to come and visit here, even if it's only seldom that you find me. I think the world of all of you.

Kirby

P.S. I don't have the time to proofread this, so you'll just have to overlook all the errors!
