Attention all you Clint Walker fans. On September 27th,
Clint's Cheyenne series will be available on DVD through
Clint's web site, clintwalker.com. Apparently, Warner
Brothers is making the release. The DVDs will be first rate, high quality and worth the investment. This is
especially great news for me. For several years I had
collected all the Cheyenne series on VHS. A couple of years
ago I transferred all the VHS onto DVD for my private collection. There is pride in ownership, but some of
my tapes were much less than good quality. The WB
released DVD's will be superb, using the original 16mm
film.
Clint has also made available on his site autographed copies of the Dirty Dozen on DVD and More Dead Than Alive and Sam Whiskey, also on DVD.
Kirby, one of Clint's greatest fans and co-author with Clint on Yaqui Gold, gave me permission to post this om his site.
I don't think I have ever seen an episode of Cheyenne in my entire life. Maybe I did when I was a little kid, and if I saw it, it would come back to me. But in my recollection, I haven't. I can remember watching Jack La Lane with his white german sheperd, and sometimes Gumby and Pokey, and somewhere in there, I vaguely remember Cheyenne. Maybe it was while my mother was flicking through the channels.
It is great, that Cheyenne is on DVD, but unfortunately for me,the American Discs is not playable in Australia,as our discs are in Zone 4,not in Zone 1.
It is all too technical for me to understand, but when it does come available in Australia,I will definitely consider buying a DVD recorder,as I only have Cheyenne on video tape, just like David, the quality of my tapes are not the best.
I have read on the internet, that the 3 episodes being shown are called
The Storm Riders (Ist Season)
The Trap (2nd Season)
The Young Fugitives (6th Season -?)
The first two episodes are definitely "Classics" and one of my "favorites"-just for you -Gina.
Cheers-George.
