The school is becoming a rallying point for different castes and creeds - for conducting health camps, cleanliness drives and environment awareness programmes.

Ekal Vidyalayas are also helping preserve and enrich the heritage and culture of the region by holding kathas (story telling sessions), nataks (dramas), lok-geets(folk songs), and pravachans (religious discourses), etc.

In addition, experience so far indicates that the villagers provide support to these schools, mostly in kind. This not only helps the schools economically, but also, more importantly, binds them emotionally to their schools and their children.
