Human Rights Groups, SAJA and English media - Why They are Anti-Hindu? Here is an answer

……. Now I work as a free-lance English translator based in Germany. Here is my honest endeavour!

(Watching) over the watchdogs like Amnesty International who discriminate against Hindus is a great idea. ….

…the western mainstream media as well as the Muslim media act in a similar way as the Amnesty International. The obvious reason, in my opinion, is that religion plays a big role in the western psyche, despite its professed secular ideology, as much as it is in the Muslim psyche which at least does not make any false pretensions. The roots of modern western culture are still embedded in Christianity….The problem for the so-called "secular" western psyche is that it has not been able to replace its fundamental belief (which is Christian belief) with anything else. And Christianity as a religion is fundamentally flawed for the reason that it is not based on experience and knowledge. Therefore when it comes to making an instinctual judgement, the western psyche cannot escape its prejudicial response, like the Amnesty, like many other agencies. For a small example, (look at the) invaders at work in Iraq. They are bending over backwards "to win over the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people" by "food and water". Isn't that what the Christian missionaries are doing on every part of the earth where non-Christian people are in dire need of food and water?…..

My point is - western agencies and institutions (I'm not talking of individuals) can never be unbiased … when Hindus are involved, because of this vital flaw in their collective psyche. Now one might ask me, why should a Christian be biased against a Hindu? The answer is - a true Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ as the "only way". …..This ideology is the foundation of the western collective unconscious…….For a Christian, a non-baptised human being is less than a baptised one. ….The pope while apologising to the Jews, refused to do that to the Hindus……

When push comes to shove, Hindus are alone on this planet…. Any support would come only from the Jews who have a high regard for Hindus….. Hindus should turn to Krishna, the Kaliyuga-guru, who has told them that offence is the best defence when upholding Sanatana Dharma. …..

Dear Moderator,

This was written in response to your suggestion about having a watchdog for the watchdogs(=Amnesty & Human Rights Groups). However, the response grew in words because I was trying to elucidate my ideas of why credible agencies and organisations such as the Amnesty are biased against Hindus. I was aware that I was writing completely about religion which is not the ideal posting material in a forum such as Indic Journalists. However, the basic concern of Indic Journalists being the monitoring of anti-India propaganda, what I touched upon was the central source from which all anti-Hindu bias flowed. And therefore, it is up to you to make a judgement about its posting. I have already sent something about myself to you when I signed up, but it may not be inappropriate to mention that I have worked for the Indian correspondent for the Religious News Service for two years (1985-87) and later was involved in independent research on comparative religion for many years. Now I work as a free-lance English translator based in Germany. Here is my honest endeavour!

Having a watchdog over the watchdogs like Amnesty International who discriminate against Hindus is a great idea. Perhaps protest mails from individuals need to be sent to these organisations whenever they are found lacking in balance. An initiative can be taken by the Indic Journalists group to encourage individuals to send such protest mails. A considerable number of protests reaching them each time they make these violations can put significant pressure on these organisations to think before they act, which I believe they do not do. A good public relations campaign against such misdemeanours can threaten their credibility.

While discussing this obvious bias of western agencies against Hindus, it must be admitted that the western mainstream media as well as the Muslim media act in a similar way as the Amnesty International. The obvious reason, in my opinion, is that religion plays a big role in the western psyche, despite its professed secular ideology, as much as it is in the Muslim psyche which at least does not make any false pretensions. The roots of modern western culture are still embedded in Christianity, whereas its secular ideals of human rights and democracy form the superficial skin that have been shaped by the French Revolution and Napoleonic reforms. The problem for the so-called "secular" western psyche is that it has not been able to replace its fundamental belief (which is Christian belief) with anything else. And Christianity as a religion is fundamentally flawed for the reason that it is not based on experience and knowledge. Therefore when it comes to making an instinctual judgement, the western psyche cannot escape its prejudicial response, like the Amnesty, like many other agencies. For a small example, just take note of the terminology of the band of invaders at work in Iraq. They are bending over backwards "to win over the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people" by "food and water". Isn't that what the Christian missionaries are doing on every part of the earth where non-Christian people are in dire need of food and water? Isn't that how the Christian church made their empire in Europe and Latin America, and now on the making in Africa? The terminology of the invading forces is classic Christian terminology, though the war is not conducted by the Christian church. Not only poor Iraqis, but Hindus in general cannot fully fathom the apparent contradictions in the violent bombing and the following welfare.

My point is - western agencies and institutions (I'm not talking of individuals) can never be unbiased or true to their ideals when Hindus are involved, because of this vital flaw in their collective psyche. Now one might ask me, why should a Christian be biased against a Hindu? The answer is - a true Christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ as the "only way". To believe in Jesus Christ one has to baptise, which means you also believe in "original sin". This ideology is the foundation of the western collective unconscious. Religion as we all know is a powerful force. S. Radhakrishnan calls it the deepest part of our being. A western commoner professing secular ideals and no longer a church-going Christian, but bereft of a deeper basis to support his new-found attitudes, would respond from his deeper "baptised" self when making an instinctual judgement. For a Christian, a non-baptised human being is less than a baptised one. A circumcised human being (Jew or a Muslim) though lesser than a baptised one, is more than a non-circumcised one because of their father Abraham's covenant with Jesus Christ's father god. That is the basis of the western bias against anything Hindu, or for that matter any pre-judaic religion. The pope while apologising to the Jews, refused to do that to the Hindus. This Abrahamic affinity is reciprocal if there is no material or egoistical stake in it. The pope visited a mosque in Syria recently. Mohammed Khatami in an effort to win western support, recently proclaimed the unity with the west in the belief in one single god. An issue of the Time magazine last year had the Abrahamic ancestry as its cover story, suggesting that the common roots of the Jews, Christians and Muslims in Abraham could heal the wounds in Palestine.

When push comes to shove, Hindus are alone on this planet, save the remnants of few helpless, old, land-based and nature-based religions. Any support would come only from the Jews who have a high regard for Hindus. The survival of Hindus or Hinduism is not in doubt, for it is the only religion that has stood the test of time in every sense and has survived the relentless siege by both Islam and Christianity. The reason for their survival is simple indeed - it is a knowledge-based religion and not faith--based, and natural for the "being who thinks" ("man" from "manu", the one who thinks). For this reason alone, it is the duty of Hindus to educate the rest of the world and make them worthy of the human heritage of "thinking". The seeming naiveness of the Hindus, to consider peoples of all faiths as the same, comes from their deepest part of their being, which their ancestors addressed as "Sanatana Dharma", and which they rightly believe is the substratum of all nature. Nothing can resist the force of knowledge, not even superstition. "Correct" knowledge should be directed against "incorrect" knowledge. This polarity can be observed in real terms in the old dictum printed on the Indian rupee in sharp contrast to the one on the US dollar - 'Satyameva Jayathe' against 'In God we trust'. Which god? What trust? Why should the God ban "knowledge" in the first chapter of the bible? Hindus should turn to Krishna, the Kaliyuga-guru, who has told them that offence is the best defence when upholding Sanatana Dharma. A wise and aggressive campaign to promote "right knowledge" conducted worldwide can educate the world slowly, but surely and win for humankind Sanatana Dharma, the gene of eternal justice.
