| Does India need permission from the US to save its people ?April 18 2003 at 9:47 AM | Vinod Negi |
| I have been reading and listening to the news with alarm about the utterance of various high placed US officials saying that India must 'talk' and "negotiate" with Pakistan about the problems regarding the cross border terrorism in J & K.
Did the US talk and negotiate with Pakistan and Afghanistan ? Do terrorism promoters and harborers understanding talk, discussions and negotiation ? As a young kid, I was told that " latheon key bhoot - bataeon se nahi mantey" (translated into English - The ghosts that need their behinds kicked, don't listen to reasoning)
Does India a larger Democracy than the US, need the permission of United States to save its citizens from the criminals from Pakistan ? Did the United States take permission from the World community to attack Iraq and Afghanistan ?
Why are Indian Leaders so spineless and unsympathetic to the plight of their own countrymen ?
Why does India whine and run to US to ask for permission to stop the terrorism at its border ?
Does Israel take permission from US to act to stop the Palestinian suicide attacks against its citizenry ?
Is there any ONE single Indian leader who has the guts to stand up to its leadership and question them for their spinelessness ?
Or is it that all Indian leaders are a bunch of spineless rogues who are just interested in getting power in their hands and not care for their people ?
Can some one take up this matter in the Parliament and vidhan sabhas of the 26 plus states of India and act to preserve India's dignity or are all Indian Leaders hiding from the scare of the muslim insurgents from across the border ?
Can somebody please enlighten me. |

There is no point in blaming US. India protested againsts war in Iraq, how much US listened ? they simply did whatever they had to do, you can protest however long u want to protest.
so in away it's not just the Government of USA but people of USA who are very resilient, they get drunk every friday but they know their interest very well and act if it is threatened.
When you go to India, you cann see that you can't get anything done, so much population.....it just on and on, we simply can't blame politicians, they also find it very difficult to do anything in India.....we simply don't have system which will inspire and create brave leaders.
We have let ourselves down, knowingly well wedon't do anything even today to curb islamic population which is going to be pain in ass. knowingly well, we don't reduce our population so that we can have strong judiciary and law and order for institutions to work and the politicians can be hold to higher standard and answerable to indian people.
As long we don't take care of our own internal stuff, our leaders have no choice but to line up infront of high school dropouts American beauraucrats, we have to follow them.........they will tell us what we should do and what we should not.......

you are abasolutely correct Mr Mahesh!
see the difference between vajpayee and Bush.
Bush went ahead with action in what he believed, inspite of the world worlds criticism and oppostion. He never moved an inch too.
on the other hand see our PM, he got so scared about our MEDIA AND STAR TV ETC AND ORDERED THE RELEASE OF TERRORISTS IN EXCHANGE OF OUR PATRIOTIC PASSENGERS?
Thats the difference

Krishnabaalu - how wrong you have been proved. What Bush did was illegal/ You cannot ignore the UN to force a nation to follow the UN Resolutions. Then what is the difference between a civilized nation and the uncivilized one ? Pre-emptive strike - my foot. Where are the WMDs on which this war was fought !!! We have 200,000 army men and women looking for the WMDs in Iraq and we made fun of the 170 odd UN weapon inspectors. Vajpayee has shown what a leader he is. Amongst the intelligent people - there are always solutions to the problems. Vajpayee knows that there is no alternative to Peace. | |
