Padhma puranam says that reading gita relieves man from the cycle of birth and death.
The story of Ajamila present in Thirupavai, written by andal, one of twelve alwars teaches that just by uttering the naama of god,we can attain him.
instead of singing the cine songs which are full of obscene meanings,we can chant god's names or gita.
The life storie of alwars and nayanmars are greates example of this.I have serious doubt whether north indians or people other than tamil nadu know the glory of nayanmars and alwars?(ofcourse 90% of even hindus in tamilnadu doesnt know, thats different issue !!!,atleast blame it on our education system)non tamil brothers and sisters please respond?
Similarly we tamilians in general know only a few about sages of north who have lived in recent past millenium like tulasidas, chaitanya, tukaram etc.If u have any interesting links please give?
i think we should bridge the spritual gap between north and south. |
