Why Bollywood is in Dire straitsJune 30 2003 at 9:05 PM | M Malhan |
| Can we get together and write to these Bollywood directors who have completely lost it. Bollywood movies are becoming increasingly vulgar (and hey I am in my twenties and have a decent education so am not exactly old fashioned), as a result of which it has become impossible to watch them as a family unit. What Bollywood needs to realize is that Indian movies are watched by families, unlike hollywood which is watched by couples or people in the peer group. The audiences are different.. That is why Bollywood has made inroads into other old and traditional nations of the world. This market will get eroded if they try and imitate Hollywood.. They don't have the resources to compete with Hollywood in the same target market...
Responses would be welcome -- Also can we communicate this in any way to folks out there in Amchi Mumbai
