Are All Bibles The Same? Do All Bibles Contain The Inspired Word Of God?

"Do we really believe that Satan would leave the word
of God untouched? Satan's plan has already been finalized. It's been operating in parallel to God's word almost from the very beginning of the first Bible."

Welcome To A Bible Study And A Discussion

Of

Jeff Johnson's

Spiritual Deception in The Highest

Join us on a venture back in time to about 90 A.D. We will follow God's
word in 5000 plus manuscripts (The Majority Text). Go with us as we follow
it's preservation through the Peshitta Bible (Antioch), and the Italic
Bible (about 157 A.D.).

We will see the Waldenses (from about 120 A.D.) preserving God's word
through the Dark Ages, enduring persecution and murder by Rome.

Find out who Erasmus was and watch him as he translates the first Greek
Bible from God's Word.

See how Martin Luther, Tyndale, and King James helped preserve the True
Word of God.

Watch as Satan uses unbelievers, Clement of Alexandria, Origen and Eusebius, (In Egypt, around 200 A.D.) to write a bible using corrupted and altered Text (Minority Text). Then follow Satan's corrupted text as it is used for Jerome's Latin Bible (about 380 A.D.). You will see how the Catholic Church uses the corrupted text for their Bible and persecutes anyone that has the true Word of God.

Discover the Jesuits, the Jesuit Bible and their leader the "Black Pope".

In amazement watch as Satan's corrupted text comes forth again as the
Westcott and Hort Greek text (1881 A.D.), and becomes the basis for all modern bible versions.

Does this sound unbelievable?

Satan is not through. You will see him use more unbelievers to further
corrupt what has now become a counterfeit to the true Word of God.

Watch the Kittel brothers starting in 1937 at the direction of Hitler
further use the corrupted text to write a theological dictionary and bible
to facilitate the slaughter of Jews.

See which modern Bibles use the corrupted text, and even Hitler's work
to publish their Bibles.

Join With Us On This Journey! It will be an enlightenment.

CHAPTERS 1 & 2, DISCUSSION-Spiritual Deception In The Highest

July 14 2002, 5:22 PM

HOW CAN WE PROVE THAT SATAN HAS AND STILL IS TAMPERING WITH CERTAIN BIBLES

Wait a minute! That's a pretty strong question. We don't believe that's possible, --- do we? Surely all Bibles contain the Word of God. We trust them all, don't we? The only differences are to change "archaic" words into a more modern language style, --- right? There was never anyone in scholarly circles throughout history that would DARE take advantage of believing Christians and try to change our mind in an "underhanded" way about the Bible, --- was there?

Well --- maybe, --- just maybe this bears looking into. Mind you I'm a "Doubting Thomas", I might be from Missouri so you will just have to show me and also convience me!

First of all, do we want to trust our soul and the souls of our loved ones to those who have to make enough changes in our Bibles to qualify for a COPYRIGHT? According to the Library of Congress - U.S. Copyright Office in their list of "Frequently Asked Questions about Copyrights" question 49: "How much do I have to change in order to claim a copyright in someone else's work?", the answer is found in their Circular 14, paragraph 3:

"Only the owner of copyright in a work has the right to prepare, or to authorize someone else to create a new version of that work. Accordingly, you cannot claim copyright to another's work, no matter how much you change it, unless you have the owner's consent. See Circular 14."

Circular 14 says: "To be copyrightable, a derivative work must be different enough from the original to be regarded as a "new work" or must contain a substantial amount of new material. Making minor changes or additions of little substance to a preexisting work will not qualify as a new version for copyright purposes. The new material must be original and copyrightable in itself."

NOTE: "DERIVATIVE WORKS" a.k.a. "new versions" include translations according to Circular 14.

So it looks like according to the "law of the land", all new Bible versions must be substantially different from each other. Now since all words do not mean the same thing, this known fact presented in "Circular 14" should make us want to check out history and be "--- comparing spiritual things with spiritual". We should each decide how far off target we can afford to be with our Bibles before our souls become compromised and we become "property of this world", Satan's that is, for all of eternity.

If Satan has tampered with any of the Bible versions that we study then there will be proof of his deception in the way he communicates thru "his written word".

.....1. He will imply that he is in power, even above God in places of "his word".

.....2. The Word of God will always be present in "his written word", just not all of it.

.....3. Christ will be shown to be less than Deity and more of "just a man" than He really is.

.....4. Most verses will contain very slight wording changes that change the meaning in context.

.....5. Important truths, words and verses will be completely gone.

.....6. There will be contradictions.

.....7. Salvation steps and Christian doctrine will be omitted in places to support "other doctrines".

We are told the changes that "Bible versions" have undergone do not affect one single Christian doctrine. But they do. There are doubts as to where the real Word of God exists today. We fool ourselves by consulting 2 or 3 or more versions to find God's Word. Christian faith is devastated and division has occurred. Yet no one will spend the time to find the truth and "compare spiritual things with spiritual." Is this the answer as to why we are not making an impact on the world today?
Is this why we have division in the Church of Christ? Is this where the threat of division lies?

We all know that Satan believes and would have us believe that he is equal to God. Does your Bible imply that possibly someone other than God "by" His Word made all things. What does it mean: "Through him all things were made; --- "? Could this be a subtle clue that Satan has influenced the use of "one single word" change from "by" to "through" to cast doubt that God thru His spoken Word made all things?

Don't we all know that God is the maker and not a conduit through which all things were made? If God is the "conduit (through)" who else are we to believe is the "real" maker? Is that not: "--- comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (1 Corinthians 2:13)?

Check your Bible and see if it uses "by" or "through" in John 1:3.

Now join with us in studying our Bibles to answer some interesting questions. We will use as a guide
the article by Jeff Johnson, "Spiritual Deception in the Highest", **PART ONE**, Chapter 1: Bible Comparison: A Broad Analysis & Chapter 2: Bible Comparison: (An Individual Analysis).

Please use your favorite Bible Version and answer the questions in Jeff's Bible Quiz: 20 Questions for this week's study. We look forward to your comments as we study to find exactly where God's Word is located.

From

The Truth About Hell

By Terry Watkins

In Mark 9:46, Jesus Christ says about hell:
"Where THEIR WORM dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Scientists recently discovered cracks on the ocean floor where fire was leaking out. Do you know what they found around these fire-breathing vents in the crust? Eight-foot long worms, found no other place in the world! The book, The Deep Sea, by Joseph Wallace (p.39), reads, "Perhaps the strangest of ocean creatures recently discovered are Riftia, the giant tube WORMS Measuring up to 8 feet in length, the worms are ONLY FOUND NEAR DEEP SEA VENTS."

Don't look for Mark 9:46 in the NIV Bible. It's not there!

More Truth about Hell

July 17 2002, 8:55 AM

The twin dogmas of denying a place of eternal punishment and the defense of instrumental music is a prophetic paradox because hell was created for Satan who used his heavenly gifts of music to seduce people away from the Word of God. While the deep-sea life of a totally different system of life is interesting, the Bible pictures the horrors of fire and a bed of maggots or worms as the final destruction of music which is exclusively Satan's device to shut God's mouth.

The picture of Hell was once king Solomon's "music grove." It was called Topheth and was named after the tabret: a musical instrument. This became the garbage dump of Jerusalem where fires were always burning but the king of Babylon could still go to such a place and lie on a bed of maggots. This was Sheol.

However, God pictures eternal places by comparing them to known places of horror. Now, people are wholly consumed by maggots or burned up in this picture of hell. Nevertheless, the Bible pictures the spiritual place inhabited by conscious souls. For instance, the king/queen of Babylon was a type of Lucifer who was the female musical enchanter in the garden of Eden:

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. Isa 14:9
----- All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Isa 14:10
----- Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms (maggots of purple) cover thee. Isa 14:11
----- How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isa 14:12
----- For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Isa 14:13
----- I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Isa 14:14
----- Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isa 14:15

John Chrysostom wrote a letter to Theodore after his fall and asked

"Where are they now who used to strut through the market place with much pomp, and a crowd of attendants? who were clothed in silk and redolent with perfumes, and kept a table for their parasites, and were in constant attendance at the theatre?

"What has now become of all that parade of theirs? It is all gone;-the costly splendour of their banquets , the throng of musicians, the attentions of flatterers, the loud laughter, the relaxation of spirit, the enervation of mind, the voluptuous, abandoned, extravagant manner of life-it has all come to an end.

"Where now have all these things taken their flight? What has become of the body which enjoyed so much attention, and cleanliness. Go thy way to the coffin, behold the dust, the ashes, the worms, behold the loathsomeness of the place, and groan bitterly.

"And would that the penalty were limited to the ashes! but now transfer thy thought from the coffin and these worms to that undying worm, to the fire unquenchable, to the gnashing of teeth, to the outer darkness, to affliction and straitness, to the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, who although the owner of so much wealth, and clothed in purple could not become the owner of even a drop of water; and this when he was placed in a condition of such great necessity.

The Bible is filled with this association of music and eternal punishment, and the literal king of Ur has been preserved with the girl harpist's hands still on her harp: buried alive. If one is a false teacher he should spend his life convincing himself that hell does not exist. Whatever hell is, it is pictured as a place of conscious unhappiness far beyond just being totally destroyed.

However, the harps in revelation pictures the eternal joy of those who have met the tests, but the message for those still alive is to "preach the gospel."

The Truth About Hell

March 3 2003, 2:29 PM

I just visited this web-link from "av1611.org" and as I was reading the scripturally based support of hell in the bible and the testimonies of a doctor and science, I was horrified when I heard the Siberian recorded sounds of those that seemed in torment. Everytime I hear this recording my spirit grieves because I believe the Bible and know that many are in torment and that someone out there, right now, in the world, needs to read and hear this recording about hell so they won't go there and could understand the teaching that Christ preached about in the new testament and come to repentance and accept Jesus Christ for their salvation. He knows a lot about hell because He created it; for the devil and his angels. I believe this recording enhances the support of hell to many non-believers and I pray that you continue to spread the message of the gospel through your website. I believe this article could be linked with other Christian websites to have a greater impact and probability that non-believers would be exposed to the word and this well written article and recording. God forbid that anyone of us and others even our enemies would have to go to such a lasting nightmare. Thanks and God Bless You. Elvin

I don't want to seem like I'm looking for an argument or anything, but in Terry Watkins "The Truth About Hell" he makes the statement that you won't find Mark 9:46 in the NIV Bible when, if you care to look a little closer at the footnotes you will see that it does include it in there. It's not up on the page because that verse was only found in "some texts" to quote the footnote exactly.

Chapters 1& 2

July 17 2002, 10:04 AM

This is the TRIQUETRA a symbol of the trinity.

Later in church history the concept of the TRINITY or TRIAS was invented to refute Arianism which held Christ as only a creature, and the Holy Spirit was "deified" because God is pure or holy Spirit.

However, none of the church fathers ever picture the triune nature of the ONE GOD in terms now promoted by Max Lucado and Rubel Shelly as a "family" of gods. This probably originated in about 1942 by H. Leo Boles and the Gospel Advocate.

The TRIQUETRA is three equal arcs representing equality and the never ending plane represents eternity. Therefore, it can picture a GODHEAD made up of three family members: all equal but separated. The invisible fact is that this is the intersection of three equal circles where only the arcs are made visible as a "mystery"

It is used by modern trinitarians to represent three equal "god persons" or "people" and indeed can be seen as 666. This is not strange because the Nashville brand of TRI-THEISM infiltrating many churches of Christ has its foundation of a TRIAD of Gods in downtown Babylon.

We have locally experienced both the Gospel Advocate polytheism and the use of the triquetra to explain the newly-resurrected from the earth trinity of three separated members of the "god family." We (they) even WORSHIP the THREE NAMES of the God family.

The Restoration Movement leaders never CUT the Godhead up like a PECAN PIE but the rise of the end-time Babylon harlot religion demands the rise of Sophia as the SERPENT of wisdom and ZOE as the BEAST or female instructing principle forcing the male, and inferior, minor jehovah to worship them with MUSICAL WORSHIP TEAMS.

In place of "I and MY Father are one" the NIV reads: "I and THE Father are one." John 10:30

It is a violation of God's will because it attempts to make AN IDOL of the Godhead which no historical writer ever separates into three people.

The Godhead

August 14 2002, 4:22 PM

Though no fan of the mercurial doctrine of the trinity, I have found nothing better to combat the vain images of God which man's religions have speculated into existence. Those religions invent and promote images of God or some cosmic "ALL" which blaspheme the God who said to Moses that HE will be who HE chooses to be and not what man chooses Him to be.

I must confess my ignorance of the exact heresy which you feel Shelly and others are promoting. If they believe all three persons are indeed persons, then I would certainly have to agree since this position is necessary to refute the Eastern religions, especially Buddhism, which anticipate individual annihilation upon union with the "ALL" of the universe. In other words, we join the cosmic ALL at the moment we cease to exist. Jesus, on the other hand, showed us that union with God and eternal existence were compatible.

Though I am also no fan of the men you disparage, they nevertheless merit our respect and we should not lightly make or entertain such grave charges against them. I would be greatly surprised that their recent wanderings had taken them so far afield as to deny the nature of God revealed to us in Christ.

I await, therefore, your kind clarification.

The Godhead

August 14 2002, 6:20 PM

I don't KNOW people: therefore, I disparage false teachings.

As far as I can tell, there would never have been any CONCEPT of a triad of Gods exept from people who felt the need to EXPLAIN GOD to COMBAT heresies. The link below quotes how the problem got started with NO INTENTION of ever defining the Godhead as it is explained out of our universities.

However, the UNIVERSAL heresy in all ancient paganism was a TRIAD or emerging triads of gods. Therefore, if you want to GET IN BED with paganism there is no better way to do it than with the trinity which does not appear in words or concepts exept to those to who Jesus refused to speak except in parables (Matt 13). While the word is used, it is repudiated by the early Restoration Leaders.

This has emerged in the Catholic thinking of Father, Mother and baby son. This fits the emerging of Sophia-Zoe as the MOTHER GODDESS in feminists RE-IMAGING theology. They forced the "minor jehovahs" to form musical worship teams to worship THEM.

Therefore, events such as the Nicean counsel wrote of the Holy Spirit with: "And we believe in the Holy Spirit" because the definition of spirit in Hebrew and Greek does not speak of the Holy Spirit as a Divine Being separated from the Godhead which has a "triune nature" just as Paul in 1 Cor explained us as having such a nature.

No one called God a PERSON (a human is a person) prior to the liberal 19th century and even liberal scholars called that heresy or even blasphemy. The Greek is personae and not PERSON. Modern translations use PERSON but the Greek would be PERSONAE.

I have collected most of the important church fathers on the trinity and they explicitly warn against ever seeing God as three separated beings who, in the direct words of Rubel Shelly, can play jokes on one another or H. Leo Boles who are a committee, a family of Gods or a tribe.

There is assuredly no Shelly-like dispensations of Father, Son and NOW Holy Spirit who speaks audibly to us maybe?

Seeing the Godhead as three, free-moving, members of the God family is almost exclusively the product in its NEW INCARNATION of Rubel Shelly and friends.

The Jubilee (for the atonement) movement had the Holy Spirit as a major theme throughout. John Mark Hicks admits that this was not a Restoration Movement belief (heresy to me) but has emerged by Lucado and Shelly whose Core Gospel seems to cut off the Epistles as filtered through philosophy and the writers own personal agenda. Hicks explains why the epistles as WORK PRODUCT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT which Paul never identifies as a third person has been abandoned in favor of the "gospels."

http://www.piney.com/HSHicksLucadoShelly.html

But Shelly allows only seven facts about Jesus as the Core Gospel about which we should be serious.

http://www.piney.com/CoreGospelTable.html

Read these and I will feed you lots of other quoted sermons.

In Acts 2:38 Paul promised the "gift of the Holy Spirit" after baptism. In 1 Peter 3:21 he defines this "gift" as a clear conscience or clear CONSCIOUSNESS. In the Greek it is defined as CO-PERCEPTION. Anyone who does not have this gift can be identified by their minimizing the Bible in song and sermon. In 2 Cor 3 Paul traces this spiritual blindness back to Mount Sinai where Israel "rose up to play" which was the musical idolatry worshiping the bull cult trinity of Osiris, Isis and child.

Jesu made it clear that He simply does not speak except to those who REQUEST this clear conscience. The NIV is increasingly used to prove that baptism is a PLEDGE to our being saved PRIOR to baptism.

Would you explain in the King James Acts 2:31.
If I use the King James I can prove in this verse that Christ went to HELL when he died. Do you think the tranlaters is correct using the word Hell?
The King James version is dead wrong here.

I understand what Hell is, my question is, from what I read in Bro. Johnson letters, The King James is error free. The Translators used the word "Hell" in Acts.2:31 and this in not correct. It should be Hades.
So, the King James is also wrong. I use the New English virsion, and love it.

There are a couple of other Church of Christ website writings that
seem to disagree with the translation in the KJV (see the sites

"Hades" is quite possibly Hell or very nearly so. This is David's
prophecy as spoken of by Peter in Acts 2:31 (Read in context Acts
2:29-34 KJV).

Even the NIV reads pretty much the same as the KJV in Matthew 12:40.

This doesn't mean that he was just lying in the grave/tomb until His
resurrection.

Do you not think Christ could go into hell and survive if He so
chose to? It's pretty obvious that he was not sent there by God to
be punished. He had "business" there.

Again, many thanks for attending our Sunday School in Exile and

thanks for the challange. I also learned something new. I don't
have all the answers, I just know how to study.

The King James Bible and Hell

July 31 2002, 8:45 PM

Earlier in July of 2002, someone posed a query about the King James Bible and the meaning of the word “hell” in a passage from Acts 2. “Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” (Acts 2:27). Peter, preaching on the resurrection, quotes that passage from Psalm 16:10. He refers to David as a prophet who saw Christ resurrected. Thus in Acts 2:31, Peter continues with, “He [David] seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.”

So from these passages, many conclude that Jesus descended into hell, or the place of eternal torment, prior to His resurrection. Devotees of modern translations rage that the KJV is “dead wrong,” because their New Testaments read “Hades” and not “hell.” But in both passages in Acts, the King James Bible provides a footnote about the translation of “hell,” that it is from “Gr. [Greek] Hades.” Thus the original Greek word is Hades, or the abode of the dead in classical Greek literature, also the grave. In Psalm 16:10, “hell” is derived from the Hebrew "Sheol," also meaning the grave. Had the New Testament Greek meant the place of eternal torment, the word "Gehenna" would have been used instead of "Hades."

The "Random House Dictionary of the English Language" (2nd ed., unabridged, 1987) renders the 5th definition of “hell” as “the abode of the dead; Sheol or Hades.” The same reference provides alternative definitions for both Sheol and Hades as “hell [1590-1600].” Thus, “hell” not only refers to the place of eternal torment, but it is an archaic, late 16th-century term for the grave, as the dates in brackets imply. And the King James Bible was first published in 1611.

So which “hell” is correct in Acts 2:27, 31? It cannot be the “hell” of torment, because “Gehenna” is not used. I believe that we must look at the “big picture” and take Peter’s sermon in context. He is preaching on Christ’s resurrection. The prophecy of Psalm 16:10 also looks forward to Christ’s resurrection. The Psalms often employ “parallelism” in their phraseology; that is, similar wording introduced for rhetorical effect (thanks, Dr. Clyde Miller, Bible course on the Psalms, DLC, ca. 1970). Thus, “…thou wilt not leave my soul in hell” means that God would not abandon Christ in the grave after His death. The parallel phrase that follows, “neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” means that God would not allow Christ to decompose in the grave like any mortal man. Both phrases say the same thing (parallelism), that God would raise Christ. I believe that we must see “hell” here in the KJV in its archaic usage, the grave. Similar conclusions are found in the commentaries in "The King James Study Bible" (Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1988).

People may choose to believe that, upon His death, Christ descended into Satan’s realm (Gehenna hell) to defeat him once and for all. Some also take Matthew 12:40 to mean that Christ went to Gehenna for three days and three nights: “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Provoked with the Jewish leaders for demanding some physical SIGN from Him, Christ used the physical sign of Jonah to foretell the period of time that He would spend in the grave prior to His resurrection. “Heart of the earth” is a poetic metaphor for the grave. Christ says nothing about His descending into a Gehenna hell. And after a careful analysis, neither do the above passages in Acts and Psalms confirm that Christ went to a Gehenna hell. Although Christ conquered death upon His resurrection, Satan is still roaming around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). No, Christ has chosen not to vanquish Satan until he is cast into the lake of fire at the end of time.

Since I prefer the KJV over modern translations, it is my responsibility to study and know the proper usage of “archaic” words for the period in which they were written. Like fine wines and priceless antiques, “older is better.”

Yet Another Bible Paraphrase

August 4 2002, 2:54 PM

As if we didn’t have enough of the scores of Bible translations and paraphrases to confuse those seeking Truth, ANOTHER paraphrased “Bible” has hit the market: the Rev. Eugene Peterson’s “The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language” (NavPress, Colorado Springs, CO). Details can be found on page 3B in a “Tennessean” article titled “No ‘begetting’ in this folksy paraphrasing of the Bible” (August 3, 2002).

The article says that Peterson, a Presbyterian pastor, sees his work as “useful for evangelism among people who know nothing about the Bible, so long as they realize it’s merely one writer’s interpretation of the biblical message.” According to Peterson, “My intent was to provide something for people who have never read the Bible before, or didn’t think they could read it [the Bible]”. The book supposedly is saturated with “contemporary” and “folksy” language. For example, the article states that, “when Jesus raises a young girl from the dead, he first has to work his way through neighbors bringing casseroles to the grieving family’s home.” The poetic “valley of the shadow of death” from Psalm 23 becomes simply Death Valley [as in California?], and the Apostle Paul is called a “jailbird preacher.”

The article further implies that “Bono,” lead singer for the Irish rock band U2, is a Bible scholar, when Bono states, “He’s [Peterson’s] a poet and a scholar, and he’s brought the text [of the Bible] back to the tone in which the books were written. A lot of the Gospels were written in common kind of marketspeak. They were not at all highfalutin like the King James version of the Bible.” That’s odd, because the KJV is a word-for-word translation of the original Hebrew and Greek into the English of 1611. Any wonder why the language was more reverent (Bono’s “highfalutin”) back then as compared to the crude American jargon of today?

Because “The Message” apparently introduces fictional passages for effect, in addition to colorful words and phrases, Bible scholars claim that it is neither a Bible, nor is it presented as such. Yet Peterson’s title clearly implies that his book IS a Bible, and undiscerning people who are unfamiliar with the Bible may innocently take “The Message” as THE Word of God. It’s just another stumbling block for the unwary.

The King James Study Bible

August 17 2002, 6:02 PM

I’ll preface my principal remarks with a story about the New King James Version. Having contributed funds to Lipscomb University for some years, I received a copy of “The Nelson Study Bible: New King James Version” (Thomas Nelson Publishers) as a gift of appreciation from the University. I had never owned a study Bible before, so I eagerly began perusing it. I was somewhat dismayed, for the introductions and commentaries sometimes cast variable doubts on the authenticity of some books or passages. I also noticed that numerous “modern” word changes took away the classic “persona” of the KJV. After discovering ConcernMembers.com and thoroughly reviewing the problems that have surfaced with modern Bible translations, I put away this NKJV and went back to my old KJV.

I still desired a good study Bible, so I recently bought “The King James Study Bible” (Thomas Nelson Publishers) and was encouraged by the preface, which states in part, “It has been developed to provide conservative Christians with a reliable study Bible that is both scholarly and spiritually relevant.”

I soon realized that all of the commentary and doctrinal footnotes in this Bible are clearly Baptist in perspective, something the preface fails to mention. But there were other clues. Not only did virtually all of the contributing editors receive degrees from Baptist theological seminaries, this Bible was previously published under the titles of “The Liberty Annotated Study Bible” and “The Annotated Study Bible, King James Version.” The current Bible is © 1988 by Liberty University, which is Jerry Falwell’s university. That should confirm the Baptist bias in this Bible.

Although the King James text is preserved, there are numerous footnotes, which offer “alternative” words and phrases, similar to those of the NKJV, NIV, and others. At times, the commentary actually contests certain KJV word choices, as in Matt 12:40, in which Jesus refers to Jonah in the “whale’s” belly: “The reference to the whale’s belly in verse 40 is unfortunate. The Greek word ‘ketos’ means ‘a great sea creature,’ not necessarily a whale. The Old Testament references are to a ‘great fish’ (Jon. 1:17).” The commentators, implying that the KJV is faulty, demonstrate their own “faux pas” in Jonah 1:17: “Great fish (Heb. ‘dag gadol’): Jesus said that it was a sea monster (Gr. ‘ketos,’ Matt. 12:40).” Here the commentators go out on a limb and put words in Jesus’ mouth; Jesus never said “sea monster.” And where else derives the word “cetology,” which is the study of whales and dolphins (sea mammals), than from the Greek “ketos?” Which of those two creatures would have been large enough to swallow Jonah? I’m surprised that the commentators didn’t try to refute “whale” because a whale is a mammal and the OT rendering is “great fish,” which implies a non-mammal. Actually, I seriously doubt that the OT or NT writers had the faintest knowledge of biological classifications at that time.

These “conservative” commentators further betray their New Age philosophy by doubting the authenticity of certain key doctrinal passages, as found also in the NKJV, NIV, and others. The prime example is Mark 16:9-20: “Ancient manuscripts contain two different endings for Mark. While some suggest that Mark did indeed intend for his gospel to end at verse 8, it ends on a note of fear and lacks a clear Resurrection account. In light of the uncertainty attached to verses 9-20, it may be advised to take care in basing doctrine upon them (especially vv. 16-18).” There’s plenty of evidence on this web site and elsewhere to show that vv. 9-20 are authentic and strongly doctrinal. In Mark 16:16, Jesus clearly promises salvation to those who believe AND are baptized, but damnation for the unbeliever. Belief and baptism go hand in hand. But the commentary to verse 16 states, “Only faith, not baptism, is essential for salvation, as the omission of baptism from the last clause shows.” This age-old interpretation is utterly absurd, for it actually implies that we cannot take Jesus at His Word here. Jesus, clearly implying that those who reject Him also reject baptism, masterfully avoids a negatively redundant last clause. Many also fail to appreciate the examples of New Testament believers who were baptized immediately upon their conversion; that they didn’t wait for a convenient time, as is the practice of some today, implies an urgency to fulfill the act.

So it appears that the New Agers have found their way even into the King James Bible. I did note that of the more than 60 contributing editors for the NKJV Nelson Study Bible, a considerable number of whom just happen to be affiliated with Baptist institutions, a Dr. Richard D. Patterson of Liberty University also appears among the 13 contributing editors for “The King James Study Bible.” As expected, another familiar name is Jerry Falwell.

Obviously the greatest hurdle for the non-Baptist is to overcome the doctrinal biases of this Bible and let the Word speak for itself. Nevertheless, the Bible’s historical essays, which introduce each book, the numerous maps, biographical sketches of principal biblical characters, and archeological discussions, all greatly enhance the reader’s appreciation for the Bible.

Spiritual Deception in the Highest

June 4 2003, 8:07 PM

To whom it may concern;
I've read your short article. That's what I like, short and to the point. In fact the article in which you published has been my point exactly. I firmly believe that the Almighty convicted Martin Luther and John Calvin through His preserved word. I do not believe that those individuals whom God chose would have been used in the same capacity as if they had used the modern day corrupted texts. Satan's attack is not merely open, but he comes as a logical
angel of light. Christ himself said, "My sheep hear
my voice". What voice? How can it be His voice if it's not His word. Either one believes or does not believe. This spiritual adultry will not go unpunish-
ed. Blessings will be robbed and of course theres the
great white throne judgement. Rest assured the KJV is the only true word of God. When the wolves in sheeps clothing come to you trying to convince you they have God's word, stand firm...They are the spirit of anti-Christ. God will bless those who honestly seek Him and His truth. If you want to see opposition, stand up for the KJV in most churches nationwide and see what happens. Thank-you! Gregg Kortesma (209)550-8226

What about the Mormons

August 7 2002, 7:04 AM

I have just spent about 1 hour reading or at least reading some of the highlights of the Bible comparisions. Very good stuff. I found it interesting that in many places this information is congruent to what the Mormons beleive about the AKJV and an apostasy of Christ from this earth. I am an excommunicated Mormon and have many members of family still in this church. Obviously the more Bible Study I do the more convicted I become that The LDS church is very wrong. Do you guys know of any studies similar to this, and analytical in the approach, non-attacking, that would be helpful in my research about the LDS church.

Chapter 7, SATAN'S COUNTERFEIT

August 10 2002, 9:50 AM

Starting Chapter 7 of
"Spiritual Deception In The Highest"

To attack God's true Word, Satan had to come up with a corruption.

Around the year 200 A.D. a man named Clement:

"... founded the 'Catechetical School' at Alexandria.
He brought the wisdom of the world into the teachings of the
Christian faith and began to collect a group of corrupt
manuscripts" [S7P8].
"Clement expressly tells us that he would not hand down
Christian teachings, pure and unmixed, but rather clothed
with precepts of pagan philosophy" [S2P191].

Chapter 7

August 11 2002, 6:12 PM

The iniquity was already working before the ink could dry on Paul's letters. They sound just like the modern GRACE-CENTEREDS who cannot define grace but who turn the liberty under Christ as taught by Paul into license. This means that they were REWRITING just as fast as the inspired writers could WRITE.

It is amazing how much the early scholars knew about the pagan world and how little most of us know and care. I have read bunches of Clement because he can tell you exactly who and where pagan beliefs FLOODED the early church and who adopted them. The things people did in trying to force, appease or seduce the gods into giving them help sounds just like Apollo's Seeker Center at Delphi or YOUR modern "theater for holy entertainment."

If you need to know all of the tricks used to "fool the fools" then you can get them first hand from Clement. I know of no other religion which has had such a forceful effort to MERGE pagan practices and "baptize" or "color" them in christian shades.

Most of the modern errors come from the same sources and not from the text. For instance, the Catholic Encyclopedia confesses when and from which cults things like candles and music were "stolen." Modern "pseudo" can then read the NIV and PROVE that the apostasy was a good thing.

However, I know of not a single scholar who intermixed their Bible studies with Homer or Plato who does not utterly condemn music as part of the Christian religion. So, not even during the WORST OF TIMES were believers so desolated by musical Agents of whom Lucifer (ZOE) was the first, beginning in the garden of Eden (based on the definition of the words and the universal view of pre and post Christ writers) and will be the final agent of the Babylon whore religion (Rev 18).

In short, until the last 150 years among non-Catholic derivitive denominations, not even the most hostile Bible Scholar so afflicted the church as right now in all religious groups. Since "among the Nashville scholars" the Bible has been sifted through philosophy and the writer's personal agenda, NARRATIVE THEOLOGY allows them to write the NIV as a commentary and NOT as a scholarly version.

Next, I get flooded with quotes from the NIV which is popular because it can be used to minimize Baptism. I see the CREDO of lots of churches homepages beginning to summarize the entire Baptism teaching by making it a PLEDGE of an already clean conscience in 1 Peter 3:21.

I have looked at this here:

http://www.piney.com/1Peter3-21.html

Peter spoke of the gift of the Holy Spirit which is the gift of A personal holy spirit to replace the old, unholy spirit. In 1 Peter 3:21 he futher defines baptism as the time and place where we REQUEST from God a clear conscience which is a CLEAR CONSCIOUSNESS meaning a co-perception. This gift of the Spirit removes the VEIL from off the eyes.

Therefore, the NIV agents who preach the Baptist baptism BECAUSE we are already saved DO NOT have Christ's Spirit and, like the musical idolaters at Mount Sinai, are just making themselves into laughingstocks. "Audiences" rarely laugh WITH you but almost always laugh AT you.

chapter 7

August 4 2004, 3:30 PM

In this chapter, Mr. Johnson states Origin was the author of the Septuagint. I understand Origin lived in the 2nd century or so? but, the Septuagint was commissioned by Philladelphius, using 70 Jewish scholars a number of years before Christ? Can you explain this error in his text?

I have recently found this site, have thoroughly enjoyed it, as a great help for a student of the Bible.

I am greatly concerned about the problems in the church of Christ today, and as has been pointed out in several places, articles, everything really goes back to secular humanism, which I have been teaching as a layman for close to 15 years now. The tentacles of it, is so pervasive, its unbelievable in its reach, not only in the church, but the homes and governments of the world.

Re: chapter 7

Origin was also the author of the 'Septuagint'.

The Septuagint is a Greek translation of the Old Testament.

Remember, it was the Massoretic Old Testament Text which Jesus quoted when he walked the earth. And, it was the Massoretic Old Testament Text that has been verified.

Yet, some 'modern textual critics' use the Greek Septuagint to determine the wording of 'new versions'. Instead of using the proven Hebrew Massoretic Old Testament Text, some translators admitted they used Origin's Septuagint. For instance; the NIV translators said they used the Old Testament Text that was: "standardized early in the third century by Origin" [S3P537].

Thus, we see that Origin was a key participant in the corruption of God's Word.

http://www.concernedmembers.com/spiritualdeception.htm#7

See page 537 of New Age Bible Versions by Gail Riplinger

The preface points out that the stories surrounding the B.C. creation of the Septuagint (LXX) marketed today and existence of a Septuagint or a Greek Old Testament are fables. All of the Septuagint manuscripts cited in its concordance were written after A.D. 200 and represent Origen’s Hexapla, in kind. The Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics elaborates, calling “the letter of the pseudo-Aristeas, a manifest forgery and the fragments of Aristobulus highly suspect.” It also points out many of the LXX’s Gnostic and Platonic readings.

I have a problem with your answers about the authorship of Origin of the Septuagint.
First, you give "New Age Bible Versions" as the source for his being the author of the Septuagint, however, the author of the cited book, is, not a Bible scholar, nor does she speak or read Greek or Hebrew. Her area of expertise is in Interior Decorating. Quite abit of her book has fallen into dispute.
The Massoretics were not around according to all that I find about them until 500-900 AD, several centuries after Christ, so how could he quote from them?
As I said, I am not an expert but a layman, trying to find knowledge.

Chapter 9 Persecuting

August 24 2002, 11:37 AM

Have you noticed that SATAN seems to learn as the world gets smarter? Once, you could chain the Bible to the pulpit to keep it from getting stolen or to keep it out of the hands of the COMMONERS.

Then came Gutenberg and Bibles became more common and it was harder for the book burners to find them all or kill all of the producers.

Soos, here is what we do, sez Satan, Let's just CHAIN the preacher to the pulpit and that will be much more effective. And so they did.

One hopes that by this study of clergy trying to destroy all but their favorite NEW INTERPRETATION VERSION people will, like the Waldenses dare yank the bible out of the hands of the COMMERCIAL RELIGIONS and take personal responsibility and examine the Word for themselves.

The Waldenses are alive and well in any one who dares to JUST SAY NO to Musical and Clergy Mediators of the Word.

For almost 1,000 years ( 476 A.D. - 1453 A.D. ), the world went through
a time of spiritual darkness.

Also, in the last chapter we learned that: "spiritual darkness and apostasy
... begin with false notions concerning faith" [S8P55] and "reformation and
revival ... require the correction of these errors ..." [S8P55].

God moved in a mighty way and the 'Dark Ages' ended in 1453. Then, 1 year
later in 1454, printing with movable type was invented.

Movable type printing, along with revival, spread God's Word quickly.

In chapter 7 of his book: "An Understandable History Of The Bible",
Reverend Gipp gives us some insight into the Roman Catholic 'Church'.
He first begins with a contrast:

"It is necessary to salvation that every man should submit to the Pope."
(Boniface VIII Unum Sanctum, 1303.) [S1P80].

"FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES:
IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST."
(Ephesians 2:8-9) [S1P80].

As Reverend Gipp says: "Here lie two totally contradictory statements.
They cannot both be correct. The one which you believe will depend on
the authority you accept" [S1P80].

are generally agreed that the Authorized version of the English
Bible is the BEST EXAMPLE OF ENGLISH LITERATURE that the world HAS

The KJV ... has proven itself for almost 400 years, it is the

the BEST version EVER MADE ... etc. etc. etc.

Satan's Counterfeit

December 5 2002, 12:19 PM

Remember INFILTRATE AND DIVERT? Watch out for the defenders of the NIV. While this is going on the THOUGHT LEADERS are shifting to THE MESSAGE.

Leaving the texts in place may make it harder to understand the meaning WHEN IT WAS WRITTEN but isn't discipleship the object rather than a simple minded version which is stripped of a direct lexicon so that STUDENTS can read for themselves.

The MESSAGE is a commentary. For instance, Max Lucado's reads:

"To all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God.

----ALL they needed to do was to TRUST him to save them.
----All those who BELIEVE this are REBORN!
not a physical rebirth...but from the will of God. John 1:12-13

Therefore, postmodernism moves beyond versions as Rubel Shelly clearly says in commenting on Narrative Theology: since the Bible is not reliable then just WRITE YOUR OWN. That is why pulpits are DANGEROUS to your spiritual health.

Of course, this is out of the Baptist creed book and is not the BIBLE in ANY authentic translation.

Unfortunately for those teaching Baptist Dogma in Nashville, the CONTEXT will allow them to FOOL only the FOOLS (using Paul's idea). By looking at their RENDERING of all of the Baptism texts it is clear that they have moved beyond the Bible as Shelly's postmodernism clearly states. I have looked at some of the MINS of MAX here:

http://www.piney.com/Max-Lucado-Saved-by-Trust.html

As for 1 John 3: and the "witnesses." Tertullian is not inspired but about the year 200 he understood the message:

"We have indeed, likewise, a second font,(itself withal one with the former, ) of blood, to wit; concerning which the Lord said, "I have to be baptized with a baptism," when He had been baptized already. For He had come "by means of water and blood," just as John has written; that He might be baptized by the water, glorified by the blood; to make us, in like manner, called by water, chosen by blood.

"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 1 John 5:6

Tertullian does not quote verses 7 and 8 but above he notes;

"Not that in the waters we obtain the Holy Spirit; but in the water, under (the witness of) the angel, we are cleansed, and prepared for the Holy Spirit. In this case also a type has preceded; for thus was John beforehand the Lord's forerunner, "preparing His ways." Thus, too, does the angel, the WITNESS of baptism, "make the paths straight"

JOHN 5:8 says about the same:

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 1 John 5:8

"for the Holy Spirit, who is about to come upon us, by the washing away of sins,

"which faith, sealed in (the name of) the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, obtains. For if "in the mouth of three witnesses every word shall stand:"

"while, through the benediction, we have the same (three) as witnesses of our faith whom we have as sureties of our salvation too-how much more does the number of the divine names suffice for the assurance of our hope likewise!

And John 5:7 agrees

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Therefore, if someone declares that a text was not in the ORIGINAL it is important to see if any of the early scholars present evidence. It is enough for most of us that many of the older TRANSLATIONS carry 2,000 years of checking and rechecking various texts. No one can paraphrase without writing a COMMENTARY of his own opinion.

If you cannot find ANY older scholar agreeing with them then you can assume that the HOUNDS are on the trail of the HARE$.

Check up on THE MESSAGE: I don't plan to buy one.

Chapter 21, Satan's Counterfeit, The Westcott & Hort Text

December 14 2002, 6:43 PM

In the last chapter, we learned 'Codex Vaticanus' and 'Codex
Sinaiticus' are two manuscripts from the corrupted minority
of Greek texts.

'Vaticanus' was found in the Vatican library. 'Sinaiticus'
was found in a Mt. Sinai trash can.

We also know these 2 manuscripts form the basis for the Westcott
and Hort Greek text. And, the corrupt Westcott and Hort Greek text
forms the basis for 'modern' versions of the Bible.

In this chapter Westcott and Hort use the Vaticanus and
Sinaiticus manuscripts to make their 'own' Greek text. This
they submit to a Bible translation committee. The result will
be the "English Revised Version of 1881". Later on, other 'modern
versions' will follow the W&H text.

We pick up the history of the Bible, in England, in 1870.

Quotes from the two men that wrote the corrupted Westcott &

H O R T

"Hort did not believe in the authority of the Bible. While
mocking an Evangelical, Hort is quoted as saying: "[There are]
SERIOUS differences between us on the subject of authority,
and ESPECIALLY on the AUTHORITY of the bible" [S3P627-8]."

"Hort did not believe in Eden. His quote follows: "I am
inclined to think NO SUCH STATE as 'Eden' ... EVER EXISTED ...
" [S2P280]."

W E S T C O T T

"Westcott did not believe the first 3 chapters of Genesis.
He said: "NO ONE now, I suppose, holds that the first three
chapters of Genesis ... give a LITERAL history ..." [S2P280]."

"Westcott did not believe in Jesus' miracles; of them, he said:
"I never read an account of a miracle, but I seem instinctively
to feel its IMPROBABILITY ..." [S1P132]."

"Westcott was NOT concerned about Hell. Westcott said Hell is:
"not the place of punishment of the guilty" [S3P296]."

""As a Cambridge undergraduate, Westcott organized a club and
chose for its name 'Hermes'. The designation is derived from
'the god of magic ... and occult wisdom, the conductor of Souls
to Hades, ... Lord of Death ... cunning and trickery". [S3P400]."

"SPIRITUAL DECEPTION IN THE HIGHEST"

The foreword to the NASB Bible says that ONLY the
originals were inspired. It says: "The New American
Standard Bible has been produced with the conviction
that the words of scripture AS ORIGINALLY PENNED in
the Hebrew and Greek were inspired by God" [S5P76].

Today it is taught that: "... God wrote the originals
perfectly, but that there is NO perfect translation.
Yet, there is NO scripture that teaches any such thing!
[S1P170].

We are told that God CAN NOT use Holy men to translate
His Word (from the Traditional Majority Text) into the
various world languages.

Yet, if God used Holy men to write His originals, why
can't He use Holy men to translate his Word?

Something is wrong, here. The logic, in what we're being
told, does not make sense.

So, in this chapter, let's examine what God said about
His Word.

Only Originals Inspired?

November 29 2003, 12:26 PM

I know many churches that say in their doctrine they believe in the inerrancy of scripture but then add the qualification "only in the original manuscripts." Thus in essence they do not fully 100% believe the scriptures we have today are ineerant. In contrast to the modernist view is the doctrine of providential preservation - God has preserved His wonderful inspired Words for us today in the KJV for which I'm very thankful. Praise the Lord!

Does Your Bible Tell You How To Identify The antichrist?

February 28 2004, 5:36 PM

Let's turn to 1st John 4:3 . A 'modern' version says:

"and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, of which you heard that it was coming, and now it is in the world already."

Again, in 'modern' versions, key pieces of scripture are left out. Compare this same verse with the FULL reading in the King James. In the KJV it says:

"And every spirit that confesseth not that JESUS CHRIST IS COME IN THE FLESH is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

Remember, evil spirits did confess Jesus. In Luke 4:34 (and in Mark 1:24) a man having a "spirit of an unclean devil" said to Jesus:

"... Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] JESUS of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God."

Contrary to what 'modern' versions would tell you, the antichrist DOES KNOW who Jesus is. But, what the antichrist CAN NOT say, is that:

"JESUS CHRIST IS COME IN THE FLESH".

Modern versions not only need to get their gospel straight; they also need to correctly quote the true test for the antichrist.

Also, take a look at this: Compare 1st John 4:3 again between a 'modern' version and the King James Bible. Look one more time at what the 'new' version says:

"... which does not confess Jesus is ..."

But, in the King James it says:

"... that confesseth not that Jesus CHRIST is ..."

Besides the doctrinal error, these 'modern' versions continually assault the Lordship and Deity of Jesus Christ. If the King James says: "Jesus Christ", many times the modern versions will only say: "Jesus". If the King James says: "Lord Jesus Christ", many times the 'modern' versions will only say: "Lord" or will only say: "Jesus".

Jesus Has Come in the Flesh

October 5 2005, 11:36 AM

Concerned Member's statement about 1 John 4:3 in the "Modern" Versions is correct, they don't specifically mention "in the flesh" in v. 3...

However, it is not the whole story:

1) If those versions that do not include the phrase "in the flesh" are "Modern" then let's include the following versions among the "moderns": American Standard (1901) Wycliffe (ca. 1382)

2) Read 1 John 4:2 in the "modern" and KJV versions
a. John's argument is a contrast between those who confess Jesus having
come "in the flesh" and those who do not confess Jesus
b. John's original argument was not divided into verses (so it was seen as
a whole)
c. Compare Mark 16:16 to 1 John 4:2&3: in Mark 16:16 baptism is in the
initial statement, the contrasting statement says "believeth not"
rather than having to supply "and is baptized" since it was in the
initial argument

3) Also, the declaration
"Contrary to what 'modern' versions would tell you, the antichrist DOES
KNOW who Jesus is. But, what the antichrist CAN NOT say, is that:
"JESUS CHRIST IS COME IN THE FLESH"
a. Without going into a discussion of "who" the antichrist is...
b. I'm curious about the idea that demons can acknowledge Jesus is come in
the flesh (Matthew 18) but the "antichrist" can't say the words
c. John's text certainly indicates the antichrist is already present
d. If you insist the word "Spirit" (supplied in the KJV) is to be
understood, then why is it understood but "in the flesh" is not?

4) Most would say John is dealing with an early heresy that claimed Jesus did
not come in the flesh not setting up a "test" for an antichrist to come but
an antichrist who had already appeared (those who were opposed or "anti"
Christ, specifically as it dealt with his being in the flesh)

5) Finally, the parting shot about "Modern" version attempting to
"continually assault the Lordship and Deity of Jesus Christ"
is demonstrably false, especially if 1 John 4:3 is the prooftext.
Consider:
a. True, 1 John 4:3 in the KJV reads "Jesus Christ" while in the NIV (one
of the "modern" versions) it simply has "Jesus"
b. However, look at 1 John 4:2 in the NIV where we read "Jesus Christ." If
it is their aim to "assault" Jesus' identity they should have left it
out in 1 John 4:2 also.

but what about...

January 18 2006, 5:05 PM

If, in the KJV, you are allowed to add and words at your own discression i.e. "and this is that [spirit] of antichrist" then why can't I make it understood that Jesus is known as the Christ in the NIV by doing this: "which does not confess that Jesus [Christ] is" It's not said in that particular verse but it is mentioned elsewhere. Just look one verse before in 1st John 4:2 "This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." You must look at a passage as a whole a part of the whole Scripture, not just as a solitary verse or you miss the context. Just some food for thought.

Man, this post makes a case not for the Anti Christ

August 22 2010, 4:41 PM

Greetings,

Someone seems to have a problem more with bible versions here rather than deal with the facts concerning the anti-Christ.

Let me give you a practical example. The little ole lady living next to a school giving milk and cookies to kids and telling them that there is no God. That God is a figmant of man's imagination.

What folks need to be doing is not this--This is a device of our common adversary--to further confuse and clutter God's Word.

As a Christian--If you want to preserve our world--start right now preaching and teaching Jesus Christ to the lost--Use the book of Acts as your pattern.

Know nothing but Christ Crucified and get back into life.

Richard

But, Richard, we are also commanded to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (II Peter 3:18).

"[12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. [13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe." (Heb. 5)

I think this "Sunday School" may be for the advanced.

A great idea...

I have a great idea. Since you don't like the newer translations, and younger generations are virtually incapable of reading the KJV, why don't you make a translation of your own that keeps the validity of the KJV but implements a style that is readable to all. Perhaps its just easier to run down the efforts of those who are trying to bring the Bible to masses who can barely read normal English let alone English written 400 years ago.

Bibles to READ: not to LIKE as in LIKE.

July 16 2006, 6:49 PM

No version is a literal one: we wouldn't be able to read it. However, while versions such as the KJV may use dozens of english words to translate one Greek word, the sense of the passage is still inherent in the version.

On the other hand, newer versions do not translate but MAKE COMMENTARY by putting old concepts into the NEW concepts which THEY conclude is the correct one and pick NEW WORDS. Because the fairly word for word replacement is totall gone there is no way to COMPARE with the same KJV words which can be tracked down in Greek resources. Better still, since NO scholar can define words but simply show the various ways the word was used down through time, by tracking these words down to the ORIGINAL documents, we can get a better grasp of what Paul wrote in Paul's culture intended to say.

For example, there is not a jot or tittle of MUSICAL content in spiritual worship but the word PSALLO is usually defined to fit one's LIKES by using scholars. Again, they can only show you the various ways and context the word was used. Instrumentalists have tracked down some scholars who use forms of PSALLO to prove that the word meant PLAY THE HARP.

Unfortunate for them and their followers, there is no example in any age in any context when PSALLO meant to play the harp: much less SING and PLAY and the HARP. The word means to PLUCK and usually such that it makes a sound: but the twang of a bowstring and the "singing" arrow MUSIC DOES NOT MAKE. In fact, the "melody in the heart here means that you kill someone." If you pluck a pubic hair then the harp plucker intends to pluck a young "minister of the gods."

Second unfortunate is that ALL of the instrumentalists PROOF TEXT point directly to older males plucking the harp for just such seduction of young boys.

Paul said sing AND psallo IN THE HEART: that is the PLACE where God uniquely accepts worship in OUR human spirit as we SPEAK or TEACH or ADMONISH or EDUCATE using "that which is written" or Scripture.

If you use the NIV and find MUSIC then the young and reckless will assume along with their blind guides that Paul commanded us to MAKE MUSIC which is utter nonesense.

Looking at the restriction of women PRAYING in the public assembly I have begun to post some 1 Timothy 2 on the Sunday School in Exile forum. In addition, I am slowly adding evidence of what the CHURCH was in the first century: we know for instance that things like singing as an ACT, preaching, the collection plate and other things were ADDED hundreds of years after the pagan priests came flocking in to get on the dole.

If you don't GRASP words like SELF PLEASING, wrath, doubting etc it is impossible to see that modern RELIGIONISM is a direct ANTI-thesis to what the whole Bible commanded and exampled.

...........................THE BOOK

What Happened At the Madison Church of Christ?

There are thousands of churches being taken over across America.

This book is only about one of those churches. It's about the Madison Church Of Christ. By studying the methods used here along with the resource references you might be able to inoculate your church. At the very least you will recognize the signs early on.

Many of the current members of the Madison Church of Christ still don't know what happened.
Some never will know! This book is for them as well.

Madison Church of Christ was a 60 year old church. At one time it was one of the largest churches in the US, and the largest Church of Christ.

It thrived for many years on the vision of it's elders and those of it's ministers. Those visions undoubtably came from the the inspired word of Jesus Christ.

At sometime in the last 10 years there was a deliberate plan by a majority of the elders to take the Madison Church of Christ into a more worldly realm.

They used secrecy, covert planning, and outside sources to scheme and to change the format and direction of the Madison Church of Christ.

The Elders knew that the membership would never approve such a plan. Using the tools of the "Community Church Movement"(consultants, books, seminars, meetings, planters, seeders) they slowly started initiating change so it was never noticed by the members until it was too late.....

At the heart of the plan was the fact that old members were going to be driven off so new techniques could be used to go out and reach the unchurched through new "Contemporary Holy Entertainment" methods developed by the "Community Church Movement"

Old members had to be kept on board long enough to get their plans ready, or the funds would not be there to pay for the new building. So by the plans very nature, it had to be secret.

The church had no plan in effect to renew or approve elders. There was never any need. The elders had always been "as approved by God". 10 of the last 15 elders would begin to shed some doubt on that.

The Elders did not even need a majority at first, because some of the elders went along unwittingly.

This edition starts shortly after some of the members begin to smell something strange in January 2001. Later editions may go back and fill in some of the timeline.

To even start to understand whats happening here, you must read the background materials in the first of the book.

This is only the first edition, and not the end. New editions will be printed as needed. To keep abreast of current changes, please visit our web site; http://www.concernedmembers.com/madison
