1 Thessalonians 5: 1 - 28

2 Timothy 4:1-8

Revelation 16:12-16

Earthquakes in Divers Places
Matthew 24:7

Divers (4164) Motley: i.e. various in character: - manifold.

With the Indonesia earthquake and tsunami in the news, a lot of people are talking about the End Times Earthquakes. Just as divers means various in character, there are various End Times Earthquakes, for now I would like to focus on Revelation 12:16. This earthquake is in the middle of the 7 years of tribulation, for the Woman, is nourished in the wilderness 3 ½ years (Chapter 11 is the first 3 1/2 years). We get details of this earthquake in Zechariah 14.

Verses 1-3 sets the time and the events of this earthquake: “The Day of the LORD”, when all nations gather against Jerusalem to battle.
Verses 4&5 tells us how and why this earthquake happens. The LORD’s feet stands on Mt. Olive and the mountain rips in half and the 1/3 left in Jerusalem flee through the valley.

For those with ears to hear and eyes to see, keep these events in mind when reading Joel 2:32, Jeremiah 51:50, Zechariah 12:8.

Now let us talk about this Indonesia earthquake and some of the other divers quakes in the past and to come. Revelations 11:18 “and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Dear Brothers and Sister with ears to hear:

For something now I have written about the “End Times”, trying to expose the false teachings in the Church. Some think I’m just trying to cause trouble, or just preaching doom and gloom. This thought process has caused many to close their ears and shut their eyes. Most are in a self-defense mode and just want to ignore it, hoping that it will not affect them and theirs. Some even come up with or embrace false doctrine to sooth the feelings of fear (pre-trib, preterism, no one knows when, it’s Jacob’s troubles not ours, etc.). I have seen that it is time to look at the promises and foreshadows of Jesus’ provisions during these times. How to enter the protection provided to the Bride. With scriptures, I hope to sooth yours and my fears of these times. 1Thess. 5:9 for God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, but in Matt.13:21, Jesus tells us tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word. We will go through tribulations in this life, because in John 15:18 if the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. This is what Grace is all about. On our own we cannot endure tribulation, but because of God’s Grace we can. (Grace is not Mercy. Grace is: God doing the work through us, not us doing the work.).

This is getting long, but I wanted to start with this interesting verse.

II Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Joe, you ask: "Are you scared?" You speak of God's "promises." His promise is all that you and I have to stand on. If His promises are not backed by His words the God of the Bible would not be worthy of our worship.

I have to ask: Have you obeyed the "promise" of Acts 2:39 by obeying Peter's words of Acts 2:38? Is this the beginning of the Christian life or not? Is Peter here, in his message to the Jew at Pentecost, carrying out Jesus' words in John 20:20-23? Does he not do this some ten years later at the house of Cornelius in delivering the plan of salvation to the Gentiles?

Would we not expect this from reading the words of Jesus in Matthew 16:19? "And I say unto you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail agains it. And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Now, if the kingdom of Christ has not come the apostles were given the "keys" to it and have not as yet used them. These "keys," (authority deligated to them by Christ), meant they had Heaven's permission to "bind" God's law upon accountable men and women as it is already "bound" in heaven.

I would have to ask you Joe, as you advances the dispensational premillennial school of eschatology:
are you not saying that these "keys" have never been used? Joe, if the keys have never been used we must surmize that there is no law from Heave bound upon us, consequently, no one is doing God's will on earth as it is in Heaven; if this is true, New Testament Scriptures are no more than the uninspired words of unlearned and ignorant men.

You see Joe, your theory of prophecy demands the kingdom-postponement, which means there is no kingdom in which to use the "keys" of Matthew 16:19. If Christ did not set up His kingdom when He came then the New Birth is a farce. If Jesus did not set the kingdom of which He and John the Baptist preached "was at hand" while on earth we must ask: if no kingdom, into what are we born?

Too often men get so wrapped up in trying to discern the Second Coming of Christ they completly miss the reason He came. So, no, is my answer to your question "Are you scared?" I stand on His promise, communicated by the inspired Word.

In II Timothy 3:1, the chapter starts out: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. This verse dates this perilous times discussion to the last days. It gives a list of things that people outside of God will be doing in the last days. II Timothy 3:2-13, It is a no brainer that if you what to be in God’s/Christ’s protection during the last days that you do or become the exact oppose of what is listed in these verses. Verse 14: But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned. Here Paul is writing to Timothy about himself, he is not writing to you about who taught you. You cannot judge scriptures by what you have been taught. II Timothy 3:15-17, You are to judge what you are taught by the “Holy Scriptures”. Let me list several more scriptures that back this statement up. I John 4, Acts 17:11, Galatians 1:6-12, II Corinthians 11:13-15. In my bible study tools, I punched in “it is written”. In the New Testament there are 69 references to “it is written”. 3 times John refers to “that the scriptures maybe fulfilled”. Scriptures are the standard to which we are to judge.
Most of you are thinking, “Yes you are right, but this is so elementary you’re wasting time on how important Scriptures are”. I’m I wasting time? How many of you use corrupt versions of the bible? How many of you believe: 1. Perterism? 2. The Holy Spirit was only for the first century Christians? 3. No more miracles, tongues, or healings? 4. That we can participate in Pagan Feasts, but not in the LORD’s feasts? 5. We should not fear God? 6. That we took the place of the Hebrews as God’s children, or better yet. 7. God is through with the Jews. 8. Jesus may come any day because all prophecy has been fulfilled? I could go on, but you really need to except: the scriptures as the standard that we are to judge by.
Now that you have thrown away your NIV, NAS, NKJ bible and got out your old KJV and have seen that maybe what I been taught could be wrong, lets look a book of prophecy that Jesus quoted from a lot, Psalms. In chapter 34 we read how the LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate. When you read Psalms 34 from your KJV remember to skip the words in italic, they are added, and count how many times it refers to fearing the LORD. “ The Angel of the LORD” is a term in the Old Testament that 99% of the time refers to Jesus. Jesus has been in the business of caring for and protecting God’s servants for along time, He is good at it. Keep on reading chapters 35,36,37,38,39,40,41,42.
OK, next we are going to look at “Fearing the LORD”. Proverbs 1:7, the fear of the LORD the beginning of knowledge: fools despise wisdom and instruction. It is interesting that Solomon begins his book of proverbs with fearing the LORD and ends the book of Ecclesiastes with the need to fear the LORD. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments; for this the whole of man. Recently I was in a Sunday school class when a woman asked the teacher if we are to fear God. I held my breath to see if the teacher would tell her the truth. I was startled and started breathing again as he reliantly said, “Yes”. Let’s look at a few verses that tell us to fear God.
1. Deu. 4:10 Gather Me the people together, and I will make them hear My words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and they may teach their children.

2. Deu. 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear Me, and keep all My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

3. Deu. 6:13-15 Thou shalt far the LORD thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which round about you; (for the LORD thy God a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

4. Deu. 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD the God require of thee, but to fear the LORD the God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the commandments of the LORD, and His statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

5. Deu. 10:20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God: Him shalt thou serve, and to Him shalt thou cleave, and swear by His name.

6. Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Ok you maybe saying that this fear of God is Old Testament and now that Jesus has come we can call God “Abba Father”. Your right we can: Thank you Jesus! Most scriptural references to fear God are in the Old Testament, but they are in the New Testament also.

1. Matt. 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
2. Luke 1:50 And His mercy on them that fear Him, from generation to generation.
3. Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you Fear Him.
4. Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified: and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
5. Acts 13:16 Then Paul stood up and beckoning with hand, said Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience
6. Romans 3:14-18 Whose mouth full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery in their ways: and the way of peace have they not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
7. II Cor. 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
8. Eph. 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
9. I Peter 2:17 Honour all. Love the brotherhood. Fear God, Honour the King.
10. Rev. 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldst give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldst destroy them which destroy the earth.
11. Rev. 24:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
12. Rev. 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For only holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee: for thy judgments are made manifest.

The false prophets, teachers, and witnesses that Peter, John and Paul warned about in their time, has done a good job of forming our modern church’s doctrines. We have failed to teach the truth, because we hold fast the false doctrines taught to us by our fathers. Our fathers stand in the pulpits today warning us to stay away from the truth, because Peter, John and Paul warned us that False Prophets will come. Our fathers don’t realize the False Prophets have already came and that our fathers have been taught false doctrine and the truth is not in our modern coC doctrine. WE MUST RETURN TO THE SCRIPTURES, FOR THEY ARE THE STANDARD! WE MUST INVITE THE HOLY GHOST BACK INTO OUR CONGERGATIONS, FOR HE IS THE ONE THAT KEEPS US, YET WE HAVE BLASHEMED HIM.
Like I said at the beginning of this thread “He who has ears, let him hear”. The Truth is not for everybody, but is promised to those who seek it. Seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened, but first you must realize that you have been taught lies and the truth is not in you before you will seek and knock. Questioning your church doctrine is not sin, not testing is. Questioning your teacher, preacher and elders is not sin, not testing is. I John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the would.

Well it is August on our calendar, but on God's people's calendar it is Av. We still have Elul to go through before Tishrei, so this is a good time to prepare for the Fall Feast.

This is a long study so I will give it in pieces


The Fall Feast

Leviticus 23:23-44

In the fall of the year Israel celebrates the civil New Year, it starts with the “New Moon”. It the month of Tishrei, the start of the civil year, the beginning of months is Nisan or Abib: Exodus 12:2. The month of Tishrei is a very busy month because it is full of feasts. It starts with a New Moon feast ( Rosh Chodesh), then the 10th day is the day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and on the 15th the feast of Tabernacles (Sukket) and the feast of Ingathering.
This is also the time of the year that the prophecy sect of the Church gets very excited. Prophecy students know that Jesus full filled all the Spring Feast and that He will fulfill the Fall Feast in His second coming. All though it is not time to watch the eastern sky, because there are a few End Time prophecies that have not been full filled yet. It’s still an exciting time of the year, because Israel’s enemies usually attack her in the fall feast and we get to see some awesome work of God in these battles. Just don’t fall for the fake Armageddon that ushers in the Anti-christ.

Now with that said, let’s study the “Fall Feasts”

The month of Tishrei starts as all months start, with the New Moon feast. God put His people on a time tracking schedule (calendar) based on a lunar timetable. They watched the moon to know what time of the month it was. The month starts with the new moon. This new moon is the first sighting of the moon after the moonless night phase. People would watch the western sky, at nightfall, looking for a small sliver of the moon. When you saw it you would run to the Temple to announce you saw the New Moon. When two people came to the Temple to witness the sighting, they would go up to the High Priest and give their witness of the New Moon. After a few questions the High Priest would announce that the month begin and to blow the trumpet and light the signal fires. Then at the Temple they would have a big sit down eating fest. This is how Israel started each month twelve times a year.
The start of Tishrei is a little different from the normal New Moon feasts. The blowing of the trumpets is more than a signal blast. The trumpets where blown up to 90 times signaling many different things, thus the name “the Feast of Trumpets”, but there is a first and last trumpet blast. Also, the other “Feasts of the LORD” you start counting the days from the new moon. The day the Feast of Trumpet starts is unknown, because you are watching for the new moon: this is a small technically, but you will see the significant to this in the foreshadows of the Last Days.

later, I will tell you the foreshadows of the feast***.
The Feast of Trumpets was established to celebrate the time when Moses talked to God for the people at Mt. Sinai Exodus 19&20.

On the 10th of Tishrei is the “Day of Atonement” Leviticus 23: 27-32. This is the feast that makes atonement for sins. Some more details of what is to be done for this feast is found in Leviticus 16 & Numbers 29:7-11. This is the only time that a Priest can enter into the Holy of Holies, the most Holy place. This is where the Ark of the Covenant was. In Lev. 16, he would enter and sprinkle blood on the eastward side of the Mercy Seat: the right side is reserved for Jesus and it is His blood that was sprinkled on the right side of the Mercy seat during His crucifixion (remember the earthquake in Matt.). The “afflict your soul” in Num. 29:7 is a reference too fasting. You are to fast one day.

On the 15th day of Tishrei there are two feasts during this time Lev. 23:34 & 39. The Feast of Tabernacles and the Feast of Ingathering. The Feast of Tabernacles was to remember the time spent in the wilderness for 40 years. They lived in tents, or booths, or tabernacles (Sukket) for 40 years. During the Feast of Tabernacle you build a booth, a tabernacle to live in for 7 days: basically you camp out. The tabernacle also was a remembrance of the Tabernacle that God had Moses to build so He could live with them Exodus 25:8. When God lives with man He lives in a tabernacle: that is why Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacle. Jesus’ body was a tabernacle. God was tabernacling with us. (I know you do not understand when Jesus was born, but the bible gives us that information, if you are willing to do a little digging). Exodus 23:16 & 34:22 The Feast of Ingathering and the Feast of First Fruits are wave offerings of the corps of the fields. The Feast of Ingathering is in the mist of the Feast of Tabernacle for an End Times prophecy foreshadow.

Now let’s get into the Foreshadows

The Feast of Trumpets: Matt 24: 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Also, look at Luke 17:34.
Just like we do not know the day and hour that the Feast of Trumpets starts, we look for the sign, the New Moon. We know not the day and the hour of Christ’s return, but we watch for the signs of His return; 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2Th 2:3 let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
You really need to read all of the 2nd chapter and II Peter 3. There are many, many signs the bible gives us to watch for and are being fulfilled daily, but this study is already long.

The Feast of Atonement: Get out your bible and hold onto your seat, I’m going to blow your mind with this one. Revelations 14:14-16 this is were Jesus catches us up, and then in chapter 15 we see what we are doing in Heaven with Jesus before we return with Him in Revelation 19. In chapter 15, we are found standing on a floor as it were a sea of glass mingled with Fire. What is going on here? Let’s start with Isaiah 4:4 Spirit of burning. Malachi 3:He is like a refiners fire and like fullers soap. Luke 3:17 with a fan in His hand He burns the chaff. I Corinthians 3:13 our work are tried by fire. I Peter 1:7 our faith is tried by fire at His appearing. Look these verses up and read them in context, because I ask again, what is going on here in this sea of glass mingle with fire. Don’t get chaff and tares mixed up here. Wheat has chaff on it, and the tares are separated from the wheat and left in the field. Revelation 15-18 is what happens to the tares: The 7 vials of wrath. So what is going on, on this floor? Your sins are being burned off. When you sin you create a marker, God does not see it because Jesus hangs on to it and burns it off you so, He can present His spotless and wrinkle free bride to the Father. REMEMBER; Jesus’ first coming He fulfilled the spring feast of Passover, His second coming He fulfills the fall feast of Atonement.

Now let’s look at the combine feasts of Tabernacle and Ingathering. This combining of the two feasts, is a foreshadow of the 1000 year Sabbath Kingdom. While Jesus is setting on the throne in Jerusalem all the tribes of Israel will be back on their promised land, the end of the dispensation promised to them by God. This does not set well with a lot of people, because it does not fit well with their comfort zone of bible prophecy. Some peoples comfort zone is that they do not believe bible prophecy, other have build a nice living in twisting bible prophecies.
Let say one other thing about the Feast of Tabernacle. Zechariah 14:16 tell us that during the 1000 year Sabbath Kingdom that all that are left of the nations will go up to Jerusalem to worship Jesus year to year. The Feast of Tabernacle is a feast that will be a hold over in the 1000 years Sabbath Kingdom, because Jesus is living among us.

Do you think the "pull out" of the Jews from Gaza is going to cause the Lord to delay His return?
He can't return [according to your theory] until all the Jews are back in Eretz Israel, and now, we see them with drawing from Gaza under the gun's of fellow Jews. Looks like God's promise to Hagar still stands and He will not yield to man's pet theories about His return.

As for the Gaza pull out. Read Obadiah and pay real close attention at verse 15. This could be the answer, we will just have to wait and see.

Now let’s put all this together and see why it is so important that we understand the fall Feasts. When Jesus came and fulfilled the Spring Feasts, He fulfilled them all in one year. He fulfilled them completely, even to the timing of the events: 4 days of inspection then the death of the Passover Lamb, 4 days to First Fruits then 50 days to Pentecost. So if that holds true again (which I think it will), after the 7 years of Tribulation and we are called up at Tishrei 1, it will be 15 days, then the establishment of the 1000 years Sabbath Kingdom.
I would like to share with you the two signs I look for to see what time it is in the timetable of the End Times. I look for the two witnesses, Enoch and Elijah. Revelations 11 tells us that the two witnesses show up at the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation.
The second is: building of the Temple, on the Temple Mount, in Jerusalem. (I really think this will be very soon). In Israel they are working very hard and have made great strides to get things ready for the Temple and Temple services. For years now, a group of Hebrews load a large cornerstone on a truck and head to the Temple Mount to set the cornerstone for the new Temple. Every year the Israeli police stop them at the base of the Temple Mount, the group turns around and return the stone to it’s storage place and wait till next year.

It is very difficult to teach truth to those with closed ears.

The "fullness" of the Gentiles is at hand, of course in God's timetable it could be 100 years. It could be 1000 years. Or tomorrow.

A thourough reading of Romans chapter 11, will dispell "replacement theology" outright.

God still has HIS plan for HIS chosen people.

Sure you can take Isreal and replace it with yourself if it makes you feel better. But, God will not be mocked, and His word is true. He says he is trying to bring His people to jelousy and repentance. We are grafted into the Olive Tree as a Wild olive branch. When His people finally come to repentance and turn back to Him, how much easier will it be to graft them back into the Olive tree, since they are of the original olive branch.

The old school Church of Christ teaching on Isreal is simply false doctrine. As is the claim that Revelation is merely symbolic in nature. Very dangerous stances to take.

Very good David Keyes, it is even harder to teach people with their head stuck in the sand.

1 Six days to create the creation.
2 The Feast of the LORD.
Some think that Jesus can't come back till the Hebrew are back in Israel, but if you will notice that the Feast of Ingathering is the same time of the Feast of Tabernicales. Thus the return of the Hebrew to the promise land will not be till Christ's return.

glad to know the Body is alive and well and that some are given the gifts of prophetic understanding..thank you Jesus for your Church, Israel, and the ability to know the different roles for both in your prophetic Word. Romans ch 9,10,11 in context tells the Church what Yeshua means to both the Jew and the Gentile. May God bless the Church and sustain Israel through this most difficult time in her history. The Lord asked us to pray for Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

I am not sure I understand your post Joe. It is my understanding that God promised a land-home for Israel, to be retained as long as Israel OBEYED the LAW OF MOSES.
Conversely, God also promised they (Israel) would forfeit the covenant, which included the land promise if they disobeyed Him and did not keep His Law as delivered through Moses. The land was to be Israel's as long as they remained spiritual Israel, and until they would fulfill their role as predecessors for the coming Messiah.

Was not the land covenant which God made with Abraham and subsequently to all Israel, like all covenants made between two parties, conditional and would be fulfilled ONLY IF BOTH PARTIES KEPT THE CONDITIONS SPECIFIED IN THE COVENANT?

God always kept His commitments, but Israel historically, failed to meet the conditions which God placed on the covenant. The covenant stipulated and embraced no more than did the promise under which it was made. It was a ratification, or acceptance on their (Israel's) part of the stipulations of the promise. It was the covenant by which God renewed His promise to be their God, and by it the people accepted the offer, and covenanted to be the people of God. This covenant bound BOTH parties to their pledge; God to be their God; Israel to be His OBEDIENT people.

This covenant did not, and could not stipulate and grant more than did the promise; thus, all these were temporal in their nature. This completed all that God had to provide for that people. From that point forward, there was nothing for either party to do, but to carry out the provisions of the covenant, and a covenant broken on one side, is broken on BOTH.

There is something that we as Christians should take from this PROMISE. It is not that God is going to restore Israel, but that He does keep His promise. When God makes man a promise, He expects the resoponse of the obedience of faith if the individual concerned is to possess the blessing. This is His promise at Pentecost (Acts 2:38-41).
A New Covenant was forged with man in His Son Jesus Christ.

Joe, I encourage you to read the entire twenty-eighth Chapter of Deuteronomy. Fourteen verses reiterate the PROMISE of God, but the remaining fifty-four verses emphasize the drastic curses and tragic effects which were to accompany the Jew if they did not KEEP their part of the covenant.

Joe, ask yourself, did the Jew keep the Law and ordinances of God? The answer is recorded for all prosterity in the same historical record which speaks of the glowing PROMISES and rewards to be received by obedidient people. Yes, Joe, God does keep His PROMISES, both positive and negative. National Israel is no more, the church of Christ marches down through the corridor of time as Jesus PROMISED in Matthew 16.

Jack, would you take a look at Galatians 3. Wasn't the Law added because the Israelites repudiated a Covenant much like that made with Abraham? Didn't they forfeit that promise and land in captivity and mostly death?

Doesn't Paul leapfrog the Law of Moses "added because of transgression" and make the PROMISE made by the Spirit fulfilled in baptized believers as spiritual Israelites?

John in Revelation identifies Jerusalem as EGYPT and SODOM. Re.11:8. Would Jesus return to a literal Jerusalem?

Jesus spoke in parables "from the foundation of the world" to keep the truth from those who do not love truth for truth's sake. Rather than a literal earthly kingdom in which modern prophecies seem to deny that Jesus Christ completely fulfilled the Law, should we look for ANOTHER fleshly kingdom when Jesus said that the kingdom is within? It seems to me that people cannot make a BREAK between the covenants and are making the same mistakes the Jews made at the first advent.

Much of the deliberate discord was injected leading up to Y2K. I am certain that our "troublers in Zion" really believed in Joel's army and that they were going to get the KINGDOM READY with a world-wide religionism to MAKE IT POSSIBLE for Jesus to NOT fail again. They truly believed that they were going to HAND OUT REWARDS and KILL the "pagans and Masons" as one priest was told by "the virgin of Quadalupe."

While the SIGNS of Jesus' return seem absolute, they missed the clear prophecies the first time and I am convinced that the TRUMP may sound (has sounded?) while the "brethren" are PLEASURING in a trumpet quartet. I go with John in Revelation to "keep awake and keep my clothes with me."

Ken, Agreed, The Law was "added" some 430 years after the "Promise." Actually, the Law was "added" to remind the Jew of the Promise as we read in verse 17.

The land promise was fulfilled. Joshua refers to this fulfillment in his farewell message to his people in Joshua 23:14. Not only was the land portion of the promise fulfilled, but according to Jashua, the entire physical covenant, as in Jashua 21:45: "Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all CAME TO PASS."

Interesting that Hal Lindsey missed this important piece of literature in his King James. The book's of Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah etc., hav been twisted and pulled to support the dispensational premillennial school of eschatology that the state of Israel fulfills prophecy is an embarrassment to those who have to come up with an answer for these illiterate dooms-day riders on pale horses. Lindsey and his followers pump in mega bucks in support of Israei interests in the U.S.

Old prophecy books like Mr. Lindsey's "The Late Great Planet Earth" and "Countdown to Armageddon" that sold by the thousands in the 70's and 80's are now found at local garage sales. Old prophecy books out of print, pitiful, mildewed monuments to dead visions---gravestones for prophecy "scholars" long since buried in the shroud of misbegotten charts, locked in the tomb of echatological disgrace by their own "keys." Their ghosts: cults. Their stepchildren: believers made doubters, unbelievers made cynical.

Now, before someone jumps up and says "what does that have to do with "Change Agents" I would like to ask: when was the last time you heard anyone from our pulpit's come out agains the theft of a nation (Palestine) by Israel?
I have researched many writings by our profound scholars during that era of land grabbing, and I cannot find one of our preachers who took a stand.

"Not important" you say. Ok, but do not complain when you pump that three dollar a gallon fuel. Believe it, there was a time when the Arab was a friend to the United States. This country and the world has been on a down hill slide since May 14,1948 when the church crawfished, and without a stand from church leaders, turned their back as the U.N. Partition 56 percent of the total area of Palestine to the European Jews. It is clear that the Palestinian refugees of today are not the result of their own "free choice" to leave their inheritance and homeland to wallow in camps.

Today, Arab's, lump all who call themselves "Christians" as "infidels." They are aware of the Jerry Falwell's, Hal Lindsey's Benny Hein's and the host of lessor lights that support the state of Israel from their TV pulpits while we in the church of Christ sit on our backsides and will not speak out in defense of truth and justice for all men.

Yes, there is more that separates the church of Christ from the denominatial world than "baptism." Who will ever know if it would have made a difference if the church of Christ at that time in history would have taken a stand. For sure, the "pale horse" rides on as we in the body shoot at each other.

I always say: "Israel belongs to the Jews because they stole it fair and square." With a lot of help from their friends. I feel a tinge of sympathy for Iran: why not build a better homeland in Germany since many never had roots in Israel. Even into the three hundreds most of Palestine was inhabited by Christians so why not make it our homeland?

If you look into the faces of the LEADERSHIP in Israel you will discover that most are not Semites. They are more likely to be Russians or Germans or proselyte Jews.

The Jews claimed to be the seed of Abraham but Jesus denied that they were Abraham's "children." Jesus refused to speak to the leaders because they were not true Israelites. The merchandising impulse has always trumped spiritual Israel: den of thieves, house of merchandise. Sounds like he was speaking of mega-churches.

I believe it to be a fact that the MASSES who are 'literalists' looking for an earthly ruler are superstitiously afraid of the GOD they have manufactured in their own head. Those trying to convert everyone to a bland "religionism" are absolutely sure that they will be the warriors to kill guys like us. I have no doubt that the more "spiritual" would do it now if they could get away with it. If they will STEAL widow's buildings to make a "theater for holy entertainmeng" then is a thief better than a murderer?

And with media out of Christian control you wonder just how the FEAR was manufactured.

I fear for true Jews because it seems to me that they are building a dam of hostility around the world and the dam will break. Hear about them printing upside down crosses somewhere? I have no doubt that the ANTI-Christianism is manufactured but in the end it will not be pretty. Heaven help us from "fundamentalism" more than a "holy Roman empire."

Thanks Joe: you are correct. There is so much evidence contrasting the "Jews" who controlled Jerusalem and the temple system and the Israelites. But, if those who SPEAK ON THEIR own were offspring of the Devil back then shouldn't we look at the MAJORITY or RULING religionists and shudder? The evidence is so thick that you almost have to believe that the "visible" christianism is dominated by a separate species.

This was such a profound truth that Jesus refused to speak to them except in parables to hide the truth from them.

If I had Satan's job I would "indwell" the slick preachers and musicians to BLEED OFF worship due only to a Holy Spiritual Deity. I would transform wolves (meaning perverts in Acts 20) into angels of light or "evangelists.

As has been noted to bring you to tears they would LADE young mothers with the BURDEN like the false clergy did using people like PACK ANIMALS. Jesus died to get these parasites off our back. The word "minister"-- and I am sure our sister has seen it -- means to SERVE those in need and not to invent busy works.

First: You don't understand COVENANTS.

Mr. Mann (if you are not a preacher)YWHW has made many covenants with many peoples and He has made many covenants with the Children of Israel, but the main one we are going to look at here is Gen 17. This is the one we as Christains need to study the most to understand our Covenant with Christ: for it is a foreshadow.

It was a 1. Everlasting Covenant, 2. YWHW initiated the covenant, 3. donated all the provsions needed to make the covernant, 4. and maintained the covernant no matter what because YWHW made the covenant! and He does not LIE!
Now I know this is strange to you, because your post read of someone that was taught by a FALSE TEACHER HIRELING. But you can be thankful that the Holy Spirit has led you to a place where you are can be exposed to truth. What you do with it is up to you.

Something to think about and to watch for.

Every time a major world event happens, prophecy students and masters start trying to fit it into their End Times timetable, and announce this is the _____ stage of the 7 years. Well let me throw in here: Lets look at some evidence in the Bible and then lets keep our eyes on Jerusalem. When talking about End Times Prophecy, you can spend a lot of time and go really deep, but for now let focus on the 7 year timetable, even more specifically, the start of the 7 years.
Revelation 11; This chapter is about the Two Witnesses. In verses 2-3, But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty two months. And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. (1260 days ~ 30 = 42 months). Verses 5-6, While the Gentiles are treading Jerusalem under foot there are Two Witnesses going around harassing them. Verses 7-12, the two are killed, the world has a big party, and then they come alive and ascend..
The second half of chapter 11 and the first half of 12 is the seventh angel sounding his trumpet and a description of the activities going on in Heaven. Satan is thrown out of Heaven and makes war with the remnant. Rev. 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty two months. (42months X 30 = 1260 days).
The 42 months of Rev 11:2 and Rev 13:5 are two separate times. So when we add the two time periods together we have 7 years. Rev 13 &14, are two chapters that tell us some of the things going on during the last 42 months.
Rev 14:14 This is the end of the 7 years of tribulation. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud sat like unto the Son of man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. This is I Thessalonians 4:17, I Corinthians 15:51, Matthew 24:31. Rev 15:1, And I say another sign in heaven, great and marvelous. Seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. This is Colossians 3:6, Ephesians 5:6, it is the wrath of God on the disobedient. So where are the children of God during these vials of wrath?
Rev 15:2, And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Here we are. We are standing on the Sea of Glass, that is mingled with fire, having our sins burned off, preparing the Bride to be presented to the Father. THANK YOU JESUS! I got carried away there, lets get back to the start of the 7 year timetable.
The Two Witnesses in Jerusalem are the start of the 7 year timetable. So when should we watch for the two? Leviticus 23 is the Feast of YHWH. The Feasts are split into Spring Feast and Fall Feast. Jesus fulfilled the Spring Feast in His first coming and will fulfill the Fall Feast with His second coming. Watch Jerusalem for the Two Witnesses in the fall, the month of Tishri. With the Bible giving us the exact number of days 1260, I would say Tishri 7, the day of the last trumpet. But with the Day of Atonement being on Tishri 10, 8 and 9 are possibilities.
What should we watch for? I do not think that the first day the two are on the scene they will turn water to blood, or that people are burned up, but when water is turn to blood and people do start to burn up, you can start counting from the last Fall feast. Don’t worry if you start counting at the right Fall Feast, you will be able to adjust your timetable at their deaths. We are told that the whole world will see that.

Joe, you ask me to "pray to the Holy Ghost for understanding", than you tell me to "read my Bible."
Well, which is it? If the "Holy Ghost" is to give me "understanding" as the Calvinist teach, why do I need to study my Bible? Are you sure you understand Paul's message to the church at Corinth about the "natural man" of 1 Corinthians 2, verse 14? Paul does not say that the Holy Spirit is going to "teach Joe and Jack," but He would "reveal Spiritual things to the Apostles" as He promised in John 16:13. You and the Holy Ghost need to get together on this subject Joe...one of you is dead wrong and I think it is Joe,,,,lol....

I was surpised that Ken spoke of the "true Jew." Is a "true Jew" anything like a "true Christian?"
Ken...the fleshely descendants of Abraham, possessing Abraham's flesh and blood, exist only in name today since the genealogies (also read Titus 3:9) were destroyed during the destruction of Jerusalem. No man can prove that he is a "Jew" in the absolute sense of the word. (Study Romans 2:28-30).

Joe and Ken, you both know that it was "through" Abraham and his seed that Christ should come in the flesh. They were "special" or "choosen" for this purpose. To contend that the "alleged Jew" is still the chosen of God is in essence to argue that the true Christ has not come.

Joe and Ken, If Christ has not come, then you both are still "aliens" to the Covennant of promise, "the Mosiac law," and you both are yet in your sins, having not been "reconciled" to God in the Body, the church.
The Holy Ghost has revealed this to you in your one on one with Him has He not Joe? Woops!

Read Ephesians 2:11-22 the Gentiles were without "hope,"
"strangers," "aliens," under the old law. I, frankly am astonished that you two students of the Word would make such an argument...... "restore Israel."

You two are aware that the millennial gospel, preached by Pat Robinson, Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart, Benny Hein and a hoste of lessor lights have the alleged Jew migrating to Palestine where he will be restored. This is why Pat Robinson gives the state of Israel 25 million each year from his followers to rebuild the temple that Christ said was "desolate."

You both know that the promise of Israel's restoration was dependent upon their keeping the Law of Moses. If not, read again Deuteronomy 28.

Think about it gentleman: you, as "Christians, know the Lord "abbrogated, nailed to the cross (Col.2:14) this Old Covenant, this letter of death" (2 Coin. 3:6).
This being so, (and you both know it is true) the Jew cannot be restored as a nation. You need to read 2 Corinthians 3:7 again and here the inspired preacher on this subject. Note: "done away." How is the "alleged Jew" going to restore something that Jesus " has done away?"

I do not know Joe, but one can read between the lines, he believes as Richard W. DeHaan, (Hal Lindsay, Jimmy Swaggart and the notoriety goes on) in his old paper back book: "The Timeclock Stops." Here, according to Joe and Richard in verse 26 of Daniel 9 there was to be an interruption in the "seventy weeks" of God's dealing with Israel....A "gap" existed between the 69th and 70th "weeks." Mr. DeHann and Joe believe that God's timeclock that had been ticking off the 69 weeks of Daniel's prophecy "stopped," and will not commence again until the Lord takes out the Church."

A study will reveal that there is no indication in the text that a gap exists between the 69th and 70th period of sevens. To insert such a gap destroys the essential character of the prophecy, i.e., time. The parenthesis puts the "church age" between the people (historic Romans) who destroyed the Temple and city and the eschatalogical prince. Vs. 26:"...and the people (insert church) of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary."

Looks like Richard and Joe need a refresher course in the New Covenant. Joe, the death of Jesus on the cross invalidates future sacrifices and grain offerings and the judgmental destruction of the city and the Temple puts and end to the practice of offering them.
Joe, Jesus made a new (firm) Covenant, the New Covenant in His blood....there is not going to be another "covenant" Joe, you had better bone up on the Covenant written in the blood of the Lamb.

But, you Ken, I am dissapointed in a Christian who cries: "the Changers are coming," would want to restore old fleshely Israel, in exchange for the Church of Christ with a "true Jew."

No, you track so well most of the time! The JEWS of the SECTARIAN bunch who ran the MEGA-church, took your last grain of wheat and had huge musical JUBILEES where the ELDERS danced in the streets SAID that they were the SEED of Abraham. They were probably Kenites or Cainites or Canaanites because Israel MERGED with them where the PROMISED LAND was turned into a KILLING FIELD. Jerusalem called DUELING MOUNTAINS or a city set on seven hills was a JEBUSITE HIGH PLACE given to David when David was too fearful to go to Gibeol. Therefore, the MONARCHY sacrificial system was an ALTERNATIVE thingy at the King's Shrine--only.

Now we KNOW that the clergy--then and now--bought their office as HIGHEST BIDDERS like in "I can bring in more members and widow's mites" because I am a DOCTOR OF THE LAW. The MONARCHY had been allowed by God because even at Mount Sinai their MUSICAL IDOLATRY was a PRAYER and God answered it by TURNING THEM OVER TO WORSHIP THE STARRY HOST (Stephen, Acts 7). you remember that the prophet who spoke to David was a STARGAZER.

There was only a few REMNANT Jews who had been DESTINED by God because they DID NOT BOW TO BAAL. Jesus refused to speak to the MASSES except in parablels to PREVENT them from trying to be saved: John called them GENERATED from VIPERS and that was not hyperbole.

The ISRALITES or those promised by the SPIRIT of Christ to Abraham were those who were baptized and received the PROMISE (Gal 3). Paul leapfrogs the MONARCHY period because that was run like ALL national temple states because their demanding a king or DOMINANT PREACHER like the nations was their final CURSE of God and he turned them over to human kings to drive them into captivity and death. God knew that it was so they could WORSHIP LIKE THE GENTILES. The hireling-changelings BOAST of being turned over but are being DELUDED for standing in the Holy Places of chruch architecture.

TRUE ISREAL are baptized believers. The "Jews" in Jerusalem are NOT Israelites. The Semites don't make it into high places in Israel. Jerusalem is identified as SODOM and EGYPT so the spiritual Jerusalem is something which is for SPIRITUAL Israelites. Ok?

I don't speculate about what God may do: the message to the living is to PREACH THE GOSPEL and worship as in "crouching like a dog licking his master's feet."

I was beginnng to wonder if you and Joe were going to join the Reverend, Pat Robinson in rounding up the "Jews" in Chicago, New York, Miami, and etc., for a "return."

Old Testament Israel, as a Nation and having any standing with God, has been destroyed. The only hope of Israel is salvation in heaven, not a home in Jerusalem. Acts 26:6,7; 28:20. The Apostle Paul counted the fleshly advantage of the Jew in as "loss" for the sake of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:2-8).

God is not going to save one nation by the proclamation of the Gospel and another nation through personal persuation. This stands as arrogant opposition to the entire teaching of the New Testament regarding the New Covenant of God's Plan of Redemption for All Mankind.

Premillennial/Literal theories corrupt the True Israel of God. New Testament Israel is not the old fleshly Israel, but is now Spiritual Israel, the Church. It is "Spiritual Israel" which is now the receipient of the Covenant of God. Two important texts illustrate this fact: "For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God." (Gal 6:15,16).
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation of people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy." (1 Pet. 2:9,10).

Something to think about and to watch for.

Every time a major world event happens, prophecy students and masters start trying to fit it into their End Times timetable, and announce this is the _____ stage of the 7 years. Well let me throw in here: Lets look at some evidence in the Bible and then lets keep our eyes on Jerusalem. When talking about End Times Prophecy, you can spend a lot of time and go really deep, but for now let focus on the 7 year timetable, even more specifically, the start of the 7 years.
Revelation 11; This chapter is about the Two Witnesses. In verses 2-3, But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty two months. And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. (1260 days ~ 30 = 42 months). Verses 5-6, While the Gentiles are treading Jerusalem under foot there are Two Witnesses going around harassing them. Verses 7-12, the two are killed, the world has a big party, and then they come alive and ascend..
The second half of chapter 11 and the first half of 12 is the seventh angel sounding his trumpet and a description of the activities going on in Heaven. Satan is thrown out of Heaven and makes war with the remnant. Rev. 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty two months. (42months X 30 = 1260 days).
The 42 months of Rev 11:2 and Rev 13:5 are two separate times. So when we add the two time periods together we have 7 years. Rev 13 &14, are two chapters that tell us some of the things going on during the last 42 months.
Rev 14:14 This is the end of the 7 years of tribulation. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud sat like unto the Son of man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. This is I Thessalonians 4:17, I Corinthians 15:51, Matthew 24:31. Rev 15:1, And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous. Seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. This is Colossians 3:6, Ephesians 5:6, it is the wrath of God on the disobedient. So where are the children of God during these vials of wrath?
Rev 15:2, And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Here we are. We are standing on the Sea of Glass, that is mingled with fire, having our sins burned off, preparing the Bride to be presented to the Father. THANK YOU JESUS! I got carried away there, lets get back to the start of the 7 year timetable.
The Two Witnesses in Jerusalem is the start of the 7 year timetable. So when should we watch for the two? Leviticus 23 is the Feast of YHWH. The Feasts are split into Spring Feast and Fall Feast. Jesus fulfilled the Spring Feast in His first coming and will fulfill the Fall Feast with His second coming. Watch Jerusalem for the Two Witnesses in the fall, the month of Tishri.
