Hello; We need some information concerning a Dr. Brent McCall, (formerly University of New Mexico, now associated with Farmers Branch Church Of Christ, Texas). The elders of Freetown Road recently passed a questionare survey to all members in attendance about a month ago. The survey results are being compiled, and Dr. Brent McCall will advise the leadership team of the results. We are told that his expertise is Church growth, and that the Elders at Farmers Branch allow him up to 12 weeks a year off to help church growth in the Brotherhood. Anyway, The Freetown Elders have paid for this effort.

With everything ongoing at Farmers Branch, we would pleased with only factual information regarding his background and his organization.

All I can say is that Brent McCall was also hired by the leadership at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene, TX. Perhaps by divine intervention it was also about the time that many were making changes in the worship service and Mr. McCall's full program was not completed. There was so much furor over the wording of the questions that the survey was not given much credence.

Brothers / Sisters; The survey results were received, the responses are in, and now the "conversion" or "fury" starts. As you can see (from some language inserted below from yesterday's handed-out FamilyGram), there was some shepard answering demanded from the flock and deacons. We will not go to sleep here... I think that we will go as the brothers in Abilene did, not much will be implemented due to the strong and quick backlash from the cheap-seats... By the way; when we asked for a copy of the survey questions to re-read and truly understand the results returned to us, we were told that the survey questions were "company private and confidential", ...imagine that for a response!!!! We brought Brent in because his University of New Mexico doctoral dissertation on "Why some Churches of Christ Grow and some Don't" concluded that "bells and whistles" were not the reason why Churches of Christ grow. The reasons churches grow according to Dr.McCall's dissertation is: "Their church leaders are leading the congregation into a deeper spiritual life, i.e. daily prayer, daily bible reading, inviting their friends to Christ, etc. This is the direction we want to take - not "bells and whistles". LORD SUPPER ONLY ON THE 1ST DAY OF THE WEEK, SUNDAY: I disagree with Brent McCall that Acts 2:42, 46 represents the partaking of the Lord's Supper every day in homes, instead these two versus refer to the first century Christians fellowshipping with meals every day. I took Brent to lunch and told him why I disagree with him on this Scripture; he said he would in light of what I explained to him, reconsider this passage.

Could we please have the survey please? The members paid for it and it is dishonest not to disclose the results.

I would project that the "leaders" will use the programmed results to tilt the church in the way they wanted it to go before the survey.

Jesus never said anything about the CHURCH GROWTH CULT out of Fuller. In fact, if prayer can and is often a psychological tool to manipulate minds. NO ONE can miss the point that the "church" (Circe or holy whore of John's islands) is NOT the ekklesia or Assembly or Christian synagogue James spoke about.

Why does Brent McCall accept an unlawful wage to be EXECUTIVE / minister to minister a Sabbath, instrumental church which cannot tell even a single truth about "music" and the "synagogue." This means AS A PROFESSON rather than AS A MINISTRY of a suffering servant.

If the elders are FAITHFUL and rely on the ALREADY ANSWERED PRAYER from God, they WILL NOT GROW. They will be despised and rejected of men rather than WORSHIPPED for having copied out a bunch of junk which is what all Phds have to do to appease their sponsors. I have never reviewed one of the people who ever read any original resources: they proof text just as their mentors have instructed them.
