The Tomball church of Christ has changed it's name of the congregation from Tomball Church of Christ to ChristBridge Fellowship. I had visited that church a number of years ago and had heard rumors of it changing it's name. I decided to visit the churches website and sure enough, they have changed the name and bought a piano.

I am disappointed in the leaders of the church and with the members as well. I know they know what the Bible teaches about how we should worship and for them to rather please themselves than please the Lord in the manner they choose to worship has me concearned.

Remember, it isn't what you want, it is what God wants that matters. From your response, it is clear that you show up on Sunday to please yourself and not to worship God as he has instructed you to do.

The false teachers get all riled up when they are exposed for what they are. I'll pray for your church members to see them for what they are and dispell them from the church.

To their credit I think it is commendable that the leadership at least chose to identify clearly by their sign, email, and advertising that they are not affiliated with the Churches of Christ. At least graduates of our universities who move to this area can know up front that something - whether for better or worse - is different from the church they may have grown up in. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for some of the other congregations who have threads here.

P.S. If you're going to be a stickler for details, maybe you should learn to spell correctly; the word is RHYTHM.

I can find instruction on taking up collections for needy believers. I can find instructions on qualifications of elders, deaacons, and widows. But I cannot find this instruction that several here have referred to where God tells us how to worship him.

I am so sorry you missed that: no one else in early EKKLESIA missed that for hundreds of years: no singing until about the year 360-373 to add NON Scriptural songs written by the person who composed his own SCRIPTURE. You MISSED that because Jesus never DEFINED a worship service. Paul's UNIQUE worship concept means to GIVE HEED to the Word (Spirit) of Christ. You worship what or whomever you PAY ATTENTION TO. If you are paying attention to the effeminate praise singers then you are worshiping the PRAISE LEADERS. If you sing Twila Paris then you are worshiping Twila Paris. Physical and mental limitations: you cannot GIVE HEED to the sister singers and to the Word of God at the same time. For heaven's sake they INTEND that you worship them: that is the meaning of the ZOE MOVEMENT.

I think that the charismatic singing and charismatic preaching is EXACTLY that which prevented you from learning that in card class (before women began to RULE OVER).

No one in the history of the world disobeyed that DIRECT COMMAND until in a liberal German synagogue in the year 1815. The Rabbi sowed discord and the congregation went to law. What makes the Rabbi REDEEMABLE is that he had the UNcommon decency to leave and start another synagogue.

The Temple was a Gentile-like shrine for the king, clergy and military. That's true so you would advise NOT giving to the preacher who is RARELY knowledgeable beyond the "dry onion skin" level to fill a role not invented for another hundred years in the sense of "sermonizing" the Word. I used to be a member of the Tomball Church of Christ. We are no longer. I did not agree with the WAY the church made their changes. People make mistakes in judgement but my family and I still love these people. They are GOOD people. They are NOT Evil as you suggest and I hope this church is thriving. I drive by there often and it looks as though they are.

Why do you keep discussing this! What difference does it make to you worry warts? This site is a belly ache session not a Christian site. If you were a Christian you would not be pointing fingers!

This is why the Church of Christ as we know it is dying. People are starting to open their eyes and realize the C o C is not perfect. I will clarify. This church has had its share of issues and the elders made choices that was not for the benefit of all members. Everyone makes mistakes and I am sure they are well aware of this. We left because of our own issues, those of which are our own concern and not yours.
