Julian was not available at that time, so Steven was called in to take over his part. Steven was REALLY good! I can't imagine Julian portraying Zhau Sai Hin's character!

the child sitting on the throne are the manchurian child emperor but i'm not so sure who he is. probably emperor shunzi coz he ascend the throne when he was very very young, like his heir, emperor kangxi
women that he kills? The cucumbine? Why did he wound Cheung Ping? And also why did the couple (cheung ping and sai hay) die for their country? I'm still not understanding it! =T Can you or anyone explain it to me? Thanks thanks!! ^_^
he is afraid when the rebels (lee chi seng & manchurians) break into the palace, they will rape the women (wives and daughters)and thus 'dirtied' the name of ming dynasty. therefore, he decide to slay whoever didn't commit suicide (empress zhou hanged herself). i think he meant to kill cheung ping but somehow she survived.
abt sai hin and cheung ping dying for the country, they didn't kill themselves earlier and complied to the qing emperor order for them to marry in the palace is because they want to make sure the qing emperor gave her parent and family a proper burial (her father, at least was the ex-emperor so i guess he need a befitting funeral/burial)

no...he was about to kill them but the Truong Binh and the Empress begged him to let them go and they splitted into 8 groups or something to flee... and the emperor told everyone to spread the story that he forced everyone to die and that he slashed Truong Binh's hand off......and she also died because of blood lost so the enemy would think that they are dead and give up trying to look for them.....but they caught the king and hung him, but spreading the news that he killed himeself because he was cowardly....that's what i saw..in the Viet version...

When I first heard about this series, and thought that Julian Cheung was gonna be in it, I was so thrilled. Him and Charmaine are my favorite on-screen couple. But now that Steven Ma is casted instead, I'm totally not gonna see it. I'm not even interested anymore because of Steven. I disliked his character in "Return of the Cuckoo". So I can't bare to see him as the main lead in this movie, as much as I love Charmaine. Julian Cheung Chi Lam all the way!
As you know that this series is about Princess Cheung Ping so the storyline is mainly focus on her and the other leading females in this series. Just like you I love Charamaine and Chilam a lots but TVB didn't replace Chilam, it was because chilam was busy working on another series at that time so he could not be in PCP. But Steven is a good actor too. I think this series will be every intresting, even though you are not Charmaine's fans you should not miss it, just try first few espisodes let see if you like it or not. But you just told me that you love her then...you will love this series.
why did they scrap Julian? I heard that it wasn't because he was working on another series..I heard it was because TVB wanted to use someone " hot " right now. So they scrapped my baby! I'm so mad....my fave on -screen couple is Charmaine and Julian too...so sad..
at first i was disappointed too when they castsed steven insteadbut after i watched it, i cant imagine anyone else but steven playing dat role!!! he did an awesome job and charmaine and steven are now one of my fave couples!!!!! im definitely a CS fan after this series!!! i think u shud give dis series a try becuz all the actors and actresses did an amazing job here!! Charmaine's character as cheung ping was portrayed awesome, and so was steven!! moses portrayal as the emperor was abolutely fabulous!!! all his expressions and emotions were so real!! sonija's character of the evil sister made me totally despise her!!! and i also really liked michael's character...made me feel very sorrie for him! the cast did an absolutely amazing job and the script itself was excellent! i would definitely recommend dis series!!!
i understand that you probably have favorite stars and dislike some 2, and i did not like charmaine sheh either after hsds. however, this movie is sooo good. it's like totally sad. steven and charmaine's performance did improve alot, but don't take my word for it. watch it k.

Whatever, TVB is stupid, they should have stuck to Julian! He's way better than Steven Ma! And if not Julian, at least someone else for goodness sakes, great googily moogily!
Steven ma was perfect for the role. I actually fell in love with his character. I cannot picture someone else in his role. He is sooo cute and adorable. I love the baby look. He looks so sweet and innocent.
i didn't know he was that good..lol..even though i luv him so much in wtlb..i think he has improved..makes me luv sai hin so much..his character is strong!!!

Yeah but that means she's a great actress. I don't like her vioce though. It doesn't fit the image I have of "princesses." That evil mistress (the one who's son died at birth and blamed it on Maggie) has a sweet voice. What's the name of that evil mistress?

i thought sonija kwok was a really good actor.....even tho she was evil...she made me wanna ring her neck the whole time...but she was WAY more evil than Dien Phi...
then she played her role really well the whole time watching the series i just i wanna beat her up but she got away with alot of things they only catch her on a few things i think her ending should be more dramatic since she was soo evil but in real life they dont always get caught.

Sheh thinking of making the second part to the movie "Perish In The Name Of Love?" I would have said that,this movie is the best in all the other Chinese movie I watched. The movie was funny and it was kind of sad. I didn't like it to end, but I hope that there is a second one later in life.

I just finished watching PITNOL, it was great!! I love it! Charmaine and Steven are so cute!! This is the 1st time I see Steven Ma Chun Wai in a serie and my first impression was so good!! I fell in love with this talented and very good actor! ) Other casts are very good too : Maggie Siu, Jade Lau, Sonija Kwok, Moses Chan and I liked the character of Michael Tong Man Lung very much in the serie, he made me laugh and he's so funny! The serie is very sad but that makes it a good serie.
I like the subthemesong very much from Steven Ma. Is this song and the other songs in this serie are put in an album of Steven??
