Back in the late '60s, my wife and I were big fans of the show. We still are, of course. We were living in Yankton, SD and went to the WNAX TV studios. They had a bunch of 8X10 B&W glossies in a file drawer. The photos were to be given to fans, but no one had ever asked for them.
We took 'em all!
There must be at least 50. Each has a description of what's going on printed on the back.
For instance:
" Jack Elam guest-stars as a poor sodbuster who collects a large amount of money and immediately goes on a spending spree", etc. I'm not going to type out the whole thing.
The photos are all in great shape. They've been sitting in a box for the last 45 years and I'm wondering if there's a collector out there somewhere.
There are probably 15-20 with Trampas. My problem is, I have no idea what they're worth. I guess I could put one or two on eBay and see what I get. Some kind of auction is the only way to find out the value of items like this.
It often depends on what year the photos were from. Example, if the photos were from the original airing in 1962 - 1970 with the publicity material attached they would be worth much more than ones from replays later on with the typed information on the back. I've paid anywhere from $5.00 for some of the ones with the typed info on them to $20.00 for the ones from the original airing with paper information attached to them. I did do a bid of $35.00 once for a photo I really wanted, but the bid had started at $9.99. Usually on eBay they have started a $5.00, 6.99, $9.99, and $19.99. I couldn't tell you what they are actually WORTH, but that is how they usually start on eBay. Do you know what price you might start them at? I'd love to have a list of the Doug McClure ones so I could see if you have any I don't have. Maybe we could work out a price.
Thanks.
The reason I'm interested is I have a web site dedicated to Doug McClure's role as Trampas. You might not want to go through all of it, but if you'd like to see if you have photos that I don't that you would be willing to sell the URL is http://www.buckskins.com
Thanks.
