Hello all, I just had to write and tell everyone about meeting James Drury. I met him today at a show in Houston. He was absolutely the nicest man you would want to meet, and he looks just like he did twenty-five years ago. After introducing myself, he stood up and gave me a firm hand shake. He then took a few minutes and spoke of a few of his movies to me. He was gracious and spoke To Me. He didn't for one minute act like I was taking up his time. After I got his autograph and was about to leave, I got another firm handshake. I have lots of autographs but none I enjoyed getting any more than the one I got today.

Hi reg

Glad to hear James Drury is still healthy and friendly to his fans. I was fortunate enough to interview him a few years ago and found him to be friendly and willing to answer questions about The Virginian and related matters. It's great that he feels appreciated for his acting work. So many 'western' actors have been ignored in favour of 'sci-fi' actors in recent years.
It's time to redress the balance.

Hi Greg,

It sounds like meeting James Drury was a really good experience for you. I met him at the Rose Parade on Jan. 1, 1970. I asked him if he would be our Grand Marshall at our up coming March of Dimes Horse Show. He was'nt able to as he had a trip planned to to Carribean that March. He was very friendly which surprised my silly boyfriend who told me not to waste my time. Unfortunately, I never did see his eyes though, he wore sunglasses the whole time. I'm glad to hear that he is as nice now as he was when I met him!
