An asteroid is a big rock. It can be of various sizes, forms, metals, sand minerals and is often holey from being hit by other asteroid like rocks and things in space not from spending too much time in church. It is however still a rock. When it comes into the atmosphere of a planet like Earth it will be traveling so fast that it will burn up and become a shooting star that some people like to make wishes on and watch as they have a cup of Tea, Cocoa or whatever as they fall and fly across the sky. I hear once a sacred sword was made from the metals in one that made it down. O It is also said a really realy big one changed the climate when it hit the earth millions of years ago. This has not happened in so long many do not care if it happened at all.
The ape desended life forms on Earth decided to name them instead of being satified with the numbers they gave them when discovered. Then on May 9 of of 2001 which was a Wednesday a wholey insignificent asteroid 18610 was named by it's discoverer after Arthur Dent ~ an Earth Man who's adventures are told in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams who wrote the Terran Version of it telling how the Earth was destroyed on a Thursday to make way for a Galactic Freeway after Arthur's House was destroyed for an Earth Freeway and how they traveled across the Galaxy looking for the question to the answer 42. Around 4 years later another asteroid was named after Douglas Adams and in honor of him it gives the year he died 2001 his initials DA The person who named it seems to have forgot his middle initial N but that's astronomers for you unless .... Its Provisional Designation is 2001DA42 which could mean it had been named before an appropriate asteroid to name after Douglas Adams had been searched for. This may be why the N in DNA was left out. It was discovered because an appropriate one to nqame for Douglas Noel Adams was searched for and the name 2001DA42 had triple significens. What is the improbability ratio?

Besides the triple symbolism of the astroids name 2001 DA 42 I just noticed that it is preceeded by = and then by sstr or sstr=2001DA42 which seems like an attempt to balance improbability as sst represents Star Ship Titanic which Douglas Adams wrote about in the Guide, a book and computer game, and r would be the classification Recreation = equals 2001 DA 42 O.K. cgi-bin could indicate the file location. I hate to say it...I have never watched a movie version of any book that measured up to the book itself.
Hitchhiker is such a great story...full of adventure, comedy, the absurd adventure of being. I can't imagine that the movie can convey all of that as well as the written word and our own imagination.

I am a Galactic Phiosopher and I base my Philosophy on the Hitchhi8kers Guide To The Galaxy and being Roman Catholic and remembering what Dale Bingston thaught us. That in order to understand a culture or tradition you must look at it from their point of view. sometimes write reflecting the subject being discussed, and provide links to help understand it. Is it because I wrote Sacred Swords have been made from Meteorites that hit the earth. Joan Of Arcs sword is believed to be made from a Meteorite, as was Excalibar, and many other powerful swords in history and legend. It is believed that the dinocaurs became extinct after an astroid hit the Earth. Is the idea that an asteroid was responsible for the extiction of the Dinosaurs the reason for your comment?

Have you read the Hitchhikers Guide. I decided to try to write the way Adams does in the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy in Tribute to him and this is a Douglas QAdams Forum.
I am a Wild Food Specialist and have posted recepie storys I have created and enjoyed myself including some useing wild foods.
In regards to your quesrtion I do not use them nor ever have. I am a Wild Food Specialist and have thought classes , workshops and even have a web site on Foraging The Edible Wild. I have not used Psychic Mushrooms which are Sacred and should be used only for Ceremony by and with Shamans. Wild mushrooms should never be mixed with Alchohol. I do not hunt for them. They will come to me if I need them like most herbs.
The best high I got was from watching Japanese Anime in a dark room at NOLACON and Chicon World Science Fiction Conventions non stop for 4 nights and 4 1/2 days except an hour in morning and evening when they cleaned the room.
