A "towel flip" isd just about one of the bvest ways that
a fellow hitchhiker can show respect to another hitchhiker.
Un-doubtedly in their travels, their towels wilkl become
so encrusted with bread crumbs, bits of dirt, and even
grains of sand froim the various w3orlds that they visited, that the hitchhiker offering to "flip the crumbs off" or "Here, let me
flip your towel for you" - thus renders a truely hoopy tribute to a
fellow hitcher.
Thus, often at pubs and/or pizza-ree-uhz, you will often
hear such things as:
"Three towel flips for Filip, and another round of Gargle
Blasters."
NOTE: It is important to ask the fdellow hitcher if they really wantr their towel flip-ed or not. All of thgosae crumbs might be the last bits of food that the fellow hitcher has for food. In such a case, a pizza and

On the practice of "towel flipping". If you have the rest, are The Richard T who wrote and posted it otr kno2w3 of him or have the complete post please notify me or post it as an addition to this.
I CONTINUE TO WRITE - To flip your towel is in essence like giving a military salute and is a sdign of gfreat respect. Such as 42 Flips or as I often write Filips due to a misreadingf of the origenmal message then figuring it sounded hoopy continued spelling flips as filipos.
Anyway 42 Flips or Filips of your towel for Douglas Adams is like giving a 42 Gun Salute to Douglas Adams with your Towel out of respect for him.
The Proper Way to hold your Towel is to hold it by two cornewrs or ears of one of the narrow ends then raisingquickly and snapping the dry towel away from you making a popping sound like a salute. This is calledx Flipping or Filiping A Towel as I write it as to me flipping is just to turn it over with out waving and snapping the Towel..
