Well, I can sit down ...

March 28 2009, 6:03 PM

It is getting on for four weeks since I went into purdah which has been rather frustrating. I can't drive and I can't shop but at least I can sit down now - I had an infected suture site right on the bit of buttock which rests on the seat when I sit down.

The upside is that I have seen more of my kids in the last three weeks than I usually do and they take me out for coffee and cake. The downsize is that all that cake is upsizing me and can't exercise it off - if you know what I mean.

In another three weeks I will be able to 'resume normal activities' so some retail therapy will definitely be in order.

... and the surgery seems to have been a success. [linked image]

It sounds like you are getting better even though it hasn't been easy. We don't realize how much we depend on driving until we can't. I hope the next three weeks pass quickly for you. It's nice that your family is there for you. Don't worry about the extra pounds. We will have a dance off when you are able to participate!

Did you get some new books before the surgery? A good book, a bag of chips, and large glass of iced tea sounds good to me. happy.gif
