HOW TO MAKE A PALM CROSS
Today is Palm Sunday which honors The Joyful entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalum on the First Day of Holy Week which you should dedicate to Jesus Christ and spend time in prayer and meditation, Reading Meditations, Videos on Christ, saying Mysteries Of The Rosary, etc. and give up something to help improve your life out of respect and to honor Christ.

I will remember Christ's Joyful Entry into Jerusalum on his Ass as people cheered and waved palm branches and spread them on the ground before him.
I will get some from the back of Church, make crosses out of them and pass them out. I will even show how to make them.
I plan to put them with my bills, and letters I send out too.
HOW TO MAKE A PALM CROSS
When I was knee high to a Grasshopper I would go to Church on Palm Sunday and see crosses made out of Palm Leaves and was even given a few. TheN I decided that cut I the Palm leaf so it looked like an upright for the cross that went into the ground. I then cut a cross beam for Christ to hang on the right length. I Felt the Palm leaf then made two holes as wide as the cross peace I had cut and put that piece of Palm through the holes. I had myself a Palm Cross The Easy Way.
Then I found out the Palms are blessed by the Priest and are Sacred.
Since then I found out how to make a Palm Cross bending the Palms and so Palm Sunday I try to make as many as I can during service and then put them where people can see them usually next to the other Palm leaves and give them to anyone I feel can use one and show how to make them. Also I always put one in the collection container that they pass around as I feel the energy will help with the donations.
Monsignor once told me that if you put a Blessed Palm over your door it will keep the house from being struck by lightning. I have them over front and back door and it has never been struck by lightning. Oh Yes I remember when I moved into an apartment I was getting ready to hang a Palm Cross over the door and noticed something was there. It was small and rectangular. A Menorah I think it is called. It is a Jewish Tradition to put one containing part of the books of Moses over the door to protect the house. Thats why I hang a blessed palm cross over the door. I put my Palm Cross next to the Mennorah above the door. I was told by one person I gave one to they would put it in their car to protect their car. I have yet to figure out how to put one on my bike.
HOW TO MAKE A PALM CROSS
I sit here with a Palm Branch next to me. I will make one as I describe how to make it.
First look at the Palm leaf. You want one that has Straight sides about 1/2 inch or 1 1/2 cintemetors. I make small andlarge crosses. You can use real large ones but they are sometimes larger in the middle then the ends and so are difficult working with unless you cheat like I did in the first paragraph because the ends are smaller then the center. A large Palm cross is for making a large cross for display. REMEMBER THE PALMS WERE BLESSED.
MAKE SURE THE PALM BRANCHES ARE STRAIGHT ON SIDES AND BOTTOM IS EVEN. THE CENTER SHOULD NOT BE BIGGER THEN THE ENDS AND THE BOTTOM SHOULD NOT BE NARROWER THEN THE SIDES. LENGTH DEPENDS ON HOW BIG A CROSS YOU WANT TO MAKE. THEN YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE PALM LEAF IS DOUBLE. OR BENT ON ITSELF. TOUGH WORKING WITH IT THAT WAY AND WILL NOT STAY TOGETHER PROPERLY BECAUSE OF BULKINESS.
SEPARATE THE PALMS BY BENDING SIDES OUTWARDS AND PULLING TOP DOWNWARD.
YOU NOW HAVE TWO IDENTICAL WELL LIKE TWIN PALMS. SET ONE ASIDE OR LET SOMEONE MAKE ONE WITH YOU USING IT. I DO THIS WHEN I DEMONSTREIGHT HOW TO MAKE THEM.
OPEN PALM LEAF SEEING TWO PALM LEAVES LIKE A SIAMESE TWIN. SLOWLY PULL THE PALM LEAVES APART DOWNWARD. SET ONE ASIDE. YOU SHOULD SEE ONLY 1 TIP ON IT.
ABOUT 5 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM BEND THE PALM LEAF BACKWARD. YOU CAN CHANGE THIS I FUTURE CROSSES DEPENDING ON SIZE YOU WANT. I MAKE SMALL ONES FOR ABOVE DOOR, AND ENVELOPES TOO.. CREASE THE BEND SO IS TIGHT. ABOUT 1 INCH DOWN OR WHERE ARMS OF CROSS SHOULD BE BEND IT UPWARDS AND TO THE RIGHT FORMING A TRIANGLE BEND IN BACK AND THE FIRST ARM OF THE CROSS.
DECIDE HOW LONG ARM SHOULD BE ~ SAY ABOUT 2 INCHES, AND BEND BACK OVER THE FRONT OF THE CROSS HORIZONTALLY FORMING AN ARM OF THE CROSS.
CREATE SECOND ARM AFTER ESTIMATING SIZE OF FIRST ARM AND BENDING BACKWARD AFTER THAT AMOUNT. BOTH ARMS SHOULD BE SAME SIZE. CAN MAKE SAME AS TOP AND BOTTOM + OR REGULAR CROSS. PRESS/CREASE ENDS.
NOW BEND THE CROSS PEACE BEHIND THE CROSS CREASING AT SAME SIZE FIRST CROSS ARM IS BENDING ARM ACROSS THE BACK FORWARD OVER THE LEFT ARM OF CROSS. BRING IN FRONT OF THE CROSS TO UNDER RIGHT ARM OF THE CROSS. IT HELPS TO HOLD BOTTOM OF THE CROSS DOWNWARD TO KEEP DIRECTIONS FROM BEING MIXED UP.
BRING IT UP BEHIND THE RIGHT ARM, CREATING AN X IN THE CENTER,.
BRING UPWARD IN BACK TURNING CROSS OVER.
YOU WILL NOTICE A BEND THAT CAN BE RAISED IN CENTER OF THE BACK. BEND TIP OF PALM DOWN AND SLIDE THROUGH IT LIKE A CAMEL GOING THROUGH THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE. THIS REPRESENTS THE SPEAR GOING THROUGH CHRISTS SIDE. PULL IT THROUGH AND UPWARD.
TURN IT OVER AND YOU WILL SEE A CROSS WITH AN X LIKE CROSSED HANDS IN CENTER, AND A SPEAR LIKE PALM TIP RAISING FROM IT. WEAR IT ISBENT DOWN YOU CAN PUT STRING OR TAPE THROUGH THE TOP OF IT AND HANG IT OVER A DOOR FOR HOUSE PROTECTION.
WHEN FINISHED GIVE TO A FRIEND, PUT IN A HOLY BOOK OR ALTER OR BETTER YET PUT A STRING THROUGH THE TOP OF IT AND HANG OVER YOUR DOOR TO PROTECT YOUR HOUSE.

I WAS AT A GATHERING ONCE AND CAME ACROSS SOME CAT TAIL LEAVES IN A WET ARE. THEY REMINDED ME OF PALM LEAVES THOUGH NOT BLESSED NOR PALMS AND MADE SOME CROSSES FROM THEM. YOU CAN WEAVE CATTAIL LEAVES AND MAKE THINGS FROM THEM.

HAVING NOTICED IT WAS HARD TO SEE A TRAIL AT NIGHT I GATHERED SOME LONG CATTAIL LEAVES AND BRAIDED 2 AND 3 OF THEM OVER EACH OTHER. I THEN TOOK THEM TO THE TRAIL AND TIED THEM ARROUND SMALL TREES AT EYE HEIGHT NEAR CURVES IN THE TRAIL AND WHERE YOU MIGHT WANDER OFF IT. IT MADE THE TRAIL LOTS EASIER TO SEE WITH A LIGHT AND HELPED STAY ON THE TRAIL AT NIGHT.
