The Network54 fees for the Cafe are due December 1st. That's two months for us to decide if we want to keep the Cafe open for new posts. It seems very quiet in here, and I understand if everyone decides it is time to leave the Cafe to history. (Read Only)

I would be sad to lose the cafe but I would understand if you decide not to keep it active. I think it's up to you but I love coming here and always have. It's my internet home, no matter how many other sites I might visit.

I realize though, that you have kept it going for a long time...you might be a bit weary?

you have to think long and hard about whether to make the subject of the sentence singular or plural.

I'm in the same boat with the QB Forum. I have to have mega activity to feel like I'm where I need to be in life. The golf, football, and basketball coaching provide that for me and due to the lack of forum activity, I've taken on more such positions.

I think it must be some Karmic connection that both our sites have a ten-year history.

Anyway, as long as you go where your heart leads you, you'll be fine. Close one door and as long as you're already open to change, a new door will open.

We seem to be hearing the same lyrics from the same old song most of the time. Of course you could be hiding the fact that you prefer the new modern music to my golden oldies. But, that would be okay. I would like you anyway. We seem to have a 'thought connection'. Are you blonde?

Oh, I hope so! I belong in a blonde universe...lol.

Well, if it makes the two of you happy, I was born blonde (True) but shortly after the Big Bang was over, my hair turned dark brown. Probably from the cosmic radiation, but I digress...

The good news is, as I age, I'm going back to blonde again. (My wife keeps trying to tell me, "No, it's gray, not blonde!" and that, "Your eyesight is just getting too poor to notice the difference!" But I know it's blonde, just like the color of the morning fog.

And as far as the new music goes, no, I'm not a closet rapper... although I do believe all rappers belong in the closet, preferably, a sound-proof one. I like the stuff pre-1990, except Disco... Disco sucks... and I have a shirt that says so. Past that I still love the stuff by Dean Martin and Elvis, and Frank... Elvis was a member of the Rat Pack, wasn't he? I mean Peter Lori, please! Let's vote and give that spot to "E", instead.

And I'm a big fan of Sci-Fi, love all the Star Trek stuff. I was a little worried about TNG, I mean if we ever get to the point that the Federation requires the head of Psyc to be on the bridge, well, I think we're heading for trouble. Although right now, her services could be used in the White House and on the Hill. (Rent the movie Idiocracy, sometime... More truth than fiction, I fear.)

And to close, a story about Karma, part of which is replacement energy. YOu know I still miss Mac a lot. He and his wife were planning a visit but that turned out to be the year he passed. His family is Danish and just yesterday, my Son made a new friend and sure enough, his family is Danish. They have lived in this country just two years and the number of things we have in common seems a bit much to call it coincidence.

About missing friends, Mac would feel good if he knew he was missed. One of his last posts here at the Cafe was in response to my sister's death. He posted, "Anyone who leaves this world without great pain is lucky. Those left behind who can smile and remember the departed with joy are lucky, too."

I have had three online friends that have died. I remember them with love and joy. I feel lucky and blessed to have known them.
