Hi, I wonder if I could ask for prayers for my Mum who has been suffering somewhat with a multitude of problems over the past years. The main problems are very high blood pressure, from 186/130 to 160/100 (it all depends), plus she has acute diverticulitis and oedema.
However, it seems that her swollen tummy has been often associated (by the doctors) as relating/due to the diverticulitis. I agree in part, but not to the extent that it would make her tummy/abdomen swell to the extent it has. She has always suffered with puffy ankles, (bit of a trait in the family), but over the past 2 years she has has lower leg ulcers and redness of the legs.
For at least 2 years, her symptoms have been:
High blood pressure
Short of breath
Lethargic
Lack of Concentration
Oedema
She has had a chest xray recently which has revealed that she has oedema throughout her body, together with an enlargement of the heart and cardiac failure and urgent referral to see a specialist. (I know this much because my Mum asked her GP to write it down so that she could relay it to me, as my Mum cannot always remember everthing that is said, plus she knows that I'm going to ask questions about how she got on, bless her).
Mum is only 62 and a happy soul if it weren't for these problems. I lost my Dad in 2005 only 63 due to kidney cancer and aside from my own family, my Mum is all I have left.
I'm looking to being positive as I know that many things can be done nowadays and just pray that she will have the right treatment and not be messed about anymore. I feel that the GP could have diagnosed this a lot sooner than she has, it's just not good enough in my books (and I guess deep down, I'm really cross and annoyed). I'm going to ring the Practice Manager today and check up on this referral.
I'm grateful to have found this site and would dearly be grateful for your prayers.
