Hi everyone!
I am looking for some Akita owning advice:) Myself and my 3 children are wanting a puppy to join our family, and i am hoping you can shed some light on the issue, having 3 children aged 12, 5, and 1 the 5 and 1 yr old being very lively and boisterous i am wondering if an Akita would be suitable, I have read many conflicting stories and information and i feel i need to ask people with experience of this breed before making any decisions. I have been told that they are very protective of family members and can be different around visitors, and i have also read that that they are the softest friendliest dog ever.... my 12 yr old son has his friend round after school sometimes and my 5 yr old daughter also sometimes has friends around (and as kids are they always want to stroke the dog ) and i would hate for anyone to be hurt, i want a dog that will be apart of our family and dont want to have to constantly lock he or she away everytime i have visitors, I really really would love to bring an Akita into our family- i have always wanted one, can someone please tell me of the real nature of this breed from experience.
