I haven't posted much lately because AJ is going downhill. His hind legs are getting weaker all the time and I know I won't have him a whole lot longer (he's at least 12 and maybe 13 by now). But he was having a VERY good day yesterday.
He found a little jar of garlic powder. I'd swear I put it in the cupboard but I must have dropped it without knowing it because he can't reach counters any longer. I heard a crunchy, cracking sound in the living room and here he is, pleased as the dickens. He had managed to get the lid and the shaker top off and licked the inside completley clean. Fortunately there was a little less than a teaspoon left, but when I went to pick the jar up, he gave me this S***-eating grin and PEE-YEEEW! It almost knocked me over! Ever since he's been going around emitting this awful garlic smog, and besides that, it gave him gas. That is the most foul, disgusting odor I've ever smelled.
I didn't have the heart to tell him he couldn't sleep next to my bed last night, so I woke up twice. Ugh. And today he's still pretty potent. I wonder how long it will take to work its way out of his system?
I tried using apple cider vinegar but it keep getting mold and with Maiya allergy to mold I did not want to chance it! My 2 already clear the house daily so what a little more!

He's not so stinky anymore, but he's still the big loving old marshmallow he always was. I did have a comple bad days with him when his back acted up, but he's back on his feet now and we're toddling along into dotage together.
