A WALK WITH DOG
The sun is shinning bright,
Theres a lovely Summer breeze,
Its time to go for our walk
And sniff around some trees,
She trots close by my side
As we hit the urban streets
And she wags a little greeting
To everyone she meets,
But just around the corner
The traffics moving slow,
Theyre revving up their engines
And the fumes begin to flow,
So, we quickly pass the jam
And continue on our way
Squeezing by the motors
That are pavement parked today,
But then without a warning
I hear the turn of a key
And within just a second
A cars backed up to me!
I pull dog close to my side
My temper is now growing
So I clench my fist and shout
look out where youre going!
We get ourselves together
And stride off up the road
And within a few minutes
Were back in dog walk mode,
Were passing by posh houses
With three cars in the drive
Then suddenly from nowhere!
Were lucky to be alive!
Cos a lady on her mobile
And reversing with no care
Rolled off from her block paving
And didnt see us there!
Then devoid of any thought
The throttle was released
And without my quick reaction
Me and dog would be deceased!
This time I get a shoulder shrug
And words of apology
But I stare with a look of thunder
And I pull dog close to me,
Its time to go home I say
As dog looks at me so sweet
Its like walking in a car park!
Not a flipping street!
