Doherty 'back with Libertines soon'
By Alexa Baracaia, Evening Standard
2 September 2004

The Libertines hope to welcome troubled singer Pete Doherty back soon, it was revealed today.

The band's producer, former Clash guitarist Mick Jones, said the suspended sentence Doherty, 25, received yesterday for possession of an offensive weapon would "hopefully keep him on the straight and narrow".

Doherty was kicked out because of his drug addiction and wayward behaviour.

in terms of song writing and creative control and not having to worry bout being kicked out the band everytime he has a little toot on his crack pipe

yes it is!

plus when babyshambles get a proper release on rough trade they'll blow up

look at the hysteria at babyshambles gigs(as sickening as it is) and the chants of wheres pete?

i doubt there would be this much fuss if it was carl out of the 'tines

pete doherty is bigger than the libertines

My auld man's a dustman
N he wears a dustmans cap
In fact that's not true
It's actually complete and utter crap,
He's actually a farmer,
'Tis how he gets his pay.
He fertilises, reaps and sows
Every fucking day...

richskara I'm sorry but you are such a fucking dick do you honestly think it is better for peter to be in babyshambles because he gets to smoke crack with them without getting kicked out?

I can't describe the amount I would like to smack you right now.

ha ha lady get a fucking life

where did i say it was ok but while were at it yes it is ok for him to smoke it cos hes a fucking grown adult and can make his own decisions!

therefore if he chooses to do that then so be it he shouldnt have to worry about being kicked out of his own band because of it
