they are a strange band, some people love them and others really just don't like it. I listened to them because they were talked about a lot on here but when i listened I just couldnt understand why anyone would think it was good. I think its pretty contrived music and quite simple and although simple can be good it just seemed predicatable and not interesting.

Daddy's Gone got me. It just sounded pretty intense hearing it on headphones the first time I heard it, and the lyrics are so touching. And I like the whole wall of sound/ Jesus and the Mary Chain rip off. I know it's not original. I know lots of people don't like them, and I suppose I can understand that too. They've really divided people.

why would people respond to an upload request thread without an upload but instead saying they hate the band?
if this was a 'hate glasvegas' thread i wouldn't mind but i think the effort to go out of your way to say you hate something on a topic you clearly have no interest in makes some of you the saddest people alive.

I apologise and I do feel bad for the original poster, its only because I have felt confused about the split with people on this band. Normally people who I share tastes with I differ with on this - thats all.

"Daddy's Gone" is incredible, but the rest of their material isn't up to that standard. I think they should have spent a little more time in the lab writing new songs instead of re-recording their old demos.
