im seriously considering buying a cheapish one, but dont really want to if the noise is going to piss off everyone on the floor below. i had an excercise bike years ago and that was noisy as hell. are treadmills just as bad?

i remember a friend having one once, i dont think theyre very noisy, however i have to ask why you don't consider walking outside?

i do, i walk loads and nearly every day, but running/jogging is supposedly much better than walking for getting in shape

They are loud. Especially in your own home.

I reckon a decent set of Sennheiser earphones and your ipod (apparantly it's a crazy fad getting one of these arm strap things to hold your pod) and you wont hear a thing. I recommend Girl From Mars for the shorter journeys and like a hurricane for longer ones. All the while your lasagne is never too far away from you.
