I managed to buy the last 3 standing tickets for them tonight at Kentish Town Forum.

If this is anywhere near as good as Riders on the Storm were last week when they played there then i will be a happy young pup.

Anyone else indulging in this revivalist troupe?

Mate (Dion, my name is Alan, i've known you for years through this and have never properly introduced myself) the Doors you seen seem like the shit I see 3 years ago with Ian Astbury, giving it proper Jim craziness. I missed out this time due to the novelty factor............but but but did they pay Peace Frog? Also, bjm have a shit load of amazing songs which they never seem to play live, so i'd probably not bother going , too many wankers will probably ruin it x

This is what I determine to be his best work, it's sad how he won't be truely appreciated until many years have passed and many stupid haircuts have gone out of style/

Howdy brother, bonehead, Alan Melody.

I would've liked to have seen Astbury doing it a few years back to compare them, but i thought although the Jim character verges on impersonation, vocally he was bang on, and i danced throughout to some of the best live songs i've ever heard.

They did play Peace Frog and it was quality, the only things i'd really have liked to have heard would be The End(which i don't know if they still play) and The Soft Parade(which they do play, but didn't).

BJM, i thought would be worth seeing, and thought i'd kick myself if i didn't see them this time and then don't get the chance.

I'm hoping they play Servo, and Not if you were the last dandy on earth, but whatever they play, as long as the band are decent, should be cool.

Too many wankers? Do BJM attract perverted men with macs on their back?

i actually shouted 'bastard!' when i read they played Peace Frog, ultimate Doors of perception disco. There's blood on the rise it's following me.

They never ever play The End, which is probably a good thing, but it's open season on the rest. I've actually never bothered to see bjm live, but it seems they never do a full gig due to some prick having a go, this time it could be you haha. I should really make the effort someday, he's also done a few eps which are borderline idm. Most of his stuff used to be available on their official site, but is now sadly gone.......but but if you search the album name and followed by megaupload then you'll probably get there.

A night on the town is worth 3000000000000 at home regardless xxxxxxx

More like Ennio Morricone if he lived on a diet of acid and speed. Serene/ The title of the album says it all.

I saw the BJM at T on Sunday, if they're half as good tonight as they were then, you'll be in for a treat.

It could go either way with them...it all depends if Anton can be fucked to play on the night. I've seen them a few times, they've played from 1 and a half hours down to 20 mins.

I'd love to see the BJM live but the risk of getting a group of mates (who aren't that into them) to come see them and then have Anton cancel the gig after half an hour is too bigger risk. Plus I reckon they'll try and play most of the new album and that'll either be terrible or great live...

I suppose all that stuff is what 'rock and roll' is all about but only someone who loves them would forgive them.

I think they've only been playing one tune off the new album this tour, they have the times i've been...the old classics mainly....Servo, Anemone, Who?, Evergreen, Nailing honey to the bee, Whoever You Are, Open Heart Surgery, When Jokers Attack, Wisdom etc

They've been playing the same setlist for years now (with the addition of Yeah Yeah from the new 'un). More miss than hit at the moment... they should really start playing the My Bloody Underground tracks live.

Trivia: they're playing on the David Letterman show later this month...the 26th possibly (?)

i saw bjm at glasto a few weeks ago and they were pretty poor to be honest, the whole band didn't seem up for it. think people in the crowd were trying to get a rise from anton which he was responding to. they were awesome at t in the park last weekend though. definitely one of the highlights of the weekend for me. so guess its the luck of the draw sometimes.

Yeah i heard that they were shit at Glasto, but the news on T sounds good to me.

Either way, as Alan said, the night out should be better than being indoors.

The Doors played for 2 hours last weeks, if BJM give us an hour i'll be happy. I haven't heard of the support, i want to support them. :-(

I'm probably going to have a few in the stuffed, albeit enjoyable, pub next door.

Have a good night all.
