She is actually brilliant. I have been listening to her album all summer. It's so good.

Probably the best thing about her is that she's going to get better. She's got a new song called Blackberry Stone which is brilliant, and another one called Rebecca (which someone could upload?)

Also, this is funny:

I've listened to her album sooo many times. I was scared I might get sick of it, but I'm sure I won't. Her songs, her lyrics, her voice...absolutely stunning. And as for live performances, I thought she's been fantastic everytime I've seen her. Without doubt my favourite Glastonbury performance this year. I'm in a bit of a strop though, her first Edinburgh show appears to be sold out. Sake.

The answer to the post is yes, and she's also better than anyone else in a large span of time(maybe 5 years).

She has been getting better and better since i first got into her and she will continue to.

She deserves to be huge, but i'm glad she won't be, as good music goes under the radar so there's space in the charts for the ting tings and such.

Well, maybe I'd need to give their album another try. Like I say, I thought "Young Love" was great but when I saw them play they seemed to be using samples at points that just didn't sound right and do ALL their songs go "ooh wow oh wow oh wow" or something similar? I fucking hate that. I didn't mind it on Young Love because I thought it was a one off but honestly....write some lyrics!

I'd be surprised if you've listened properly to her album before saying that, as, although it's an opinion, it doesn't ring true at all.

Emmy the Great, from what i've heard, can't touch LM, she's a bit boring imo.

I hjave listened to her album , her lyrics are on a par with Lily Allen

Maybe I should give up, give in,
give up trying to be thin,
give up and turn into my mother,
god knows I love her.

Just poor...

I mean you can sum her up with ,

da de dah lover da de da im young dont blame me da de da
He left me da de de da
da dilly da da da how i hurt

No,not from the album but it is still shit, anyway we live in a country where you are free to enjoy insipid teen pop stars so do so , i was just voiceing my opinion as asked by the original poster.
Anyway what do you mean "properly" listen? Am i only "properly" listening if i like it?
I generally dont like female singer/songwriters, Gabriel by Emmy is a nice track , i like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the first be your own pet album but its just not my thing..ok.

"Anyway what do you mean "properly" listen? Am i only "properly" listening if i like it?"

Not being funny, but if you had properly listened to the album you'd know that song(which i also hate those lyrics) isn't on it. Thank god.

But in terms of soulfull songs, very well arranged music, and great production, there's not much to criticise, to be fair.

Her lyrics aren't always brilliant, but she's wise beyond her years and they are often decent enough.

Fair enough if she's not your cup of pussy, but she's not like Lily Allen.
