| - They give u the books to read
That fill your youth with laughter
They fill your head with dreams
And fairy-tale happily-ever-afters
you're told to never be afraid to dream
your imagination shouldn't be a wasted gift
but then u drift into a daily routine
working the nine-to-five shift
you waste today planning for the future
But nowt changes and the future’s the same
you're still walking the streets you're used to
and living in houses that look the same
you work everyday to pay the bills
then sit every night and watch the soaps
there's little time to find thrills
and too few laughs to cope
and as the weekend finally rolls around
you can finally try and catch your breath
but u've been worked into the ground
and there's no time for u to rest
