There's a woman on there who can't read but loves books. She has loads, can't read any of them but loves to pick them up and flick through them.

i'm not saying i've tested every person, i'm repeating what the numbers say when looking at each country in the world. of course numbers aren't accurate, they're estimates.

anyway, i think that both might have slipped recently. and i've heard several reasons why the rates are so high in the first place, not all of them good.

Watched this programme earlier, really enjoyed it. I couldn't believe that woman was so cultured but couldn't read, why didn't her husband help her though rather than just verbally sumerising the Guardian for her
