me and a mate got into the backstage bit at leeds festival a few years ago. we were hanging around outside the entrance to the backstage bit and then a group of about ten journalists came along and they all had press passes and we just thought "fuck it, let's go for it" and walked up to them and then got into the middle of the group and just swaggered confidently passed the officals.
we wandered about for like 15 mins and nodded at a few famous people, had a drink at the bar and then thought "right we'd better get out of here cos we're gonna get busted soon and they're going to throw us out of the whole festival" so we left.
you can;t really act like a fanboy and ask for pictures and stuff if you're not supposed to be backstage cos you'll just stand out like a sore thumb and blow your cover.

I've been backstage at T in the park a few times. One of the times we got bored of it and wanted to get back into the arena to see the bands but we had to ask 3 or 4 different security guards before anyone would let us through as they all said they didn't have the authority which is pretty stupid considering we probably shouldn't have been there in the first place.
I'm working at T this year but I'm not sure which areas I'll have passes for, probably just crap like hospitality
