the same poll revealed that forty per cent thought the golden arches was for remembrance

that I do not believe.

I wonder if anyone has done any research into the percentage of the population who will chose a silly answer if there is one.

9 - 11 years old.

I'm not sure what I'd know about the war at that age.

I think some of the answers shows clever word association;

"Blitz" - Clean up
"Concentration Camp" Amuemant park.


The research isn't valid, as a lot of the questions seem loaded, to lean towards these seemingly Stupid answers.

It'd be different if it weren't multiple choice.

I think the possible answers themselves are kinda more scandalous. if some adult think it's a good idea to write "Holocaust was a celebration at the end of the war" down as a possible answer that's more cynical than for an unknowing 9 year old to chose that answer.

You learn about the romans and egyptians at the age. Not until secondary school are the world wars discussed in detail in History classes. Which makes it no great suprise that kids aged 9 - 11 don't know much about Hitler or indeed the world wars.
