I'm upgrading the Wolf Parade album from 'decent' to 'really rather good'

That King Krule album is a masterpiece I tell thee.

Thought he was trendy London bollocks so didn't listen for ages.

So good.

No, (Viva) Brother combine catchy pop hooks with infectious guitar rock that remind a modern, checkered shirt and leggings/skinny jeans wearing Britain so absorbed by crap like Dizzee Rascal and Florence And The Machine why bands like Blur and Oasis were once upon a time the biggest names in British music.

The Nicole Willis album is bloody good too. I know nothing about either of them, are they both new artists?

I'm not sure how I managed to avoid Perfume Genius up to this point, but that latest record of his is something special.

In fact, ignoring what I wrote in my end of year list, 5 of my 6 favourites records from last year are from artists I either didn't know (Moses Sumney, Big Thief, Perfume Genius, Julie Byrne) or didn't like (Tyler, The Creator) previously.
