I agree, but I also feel we can cope.

Some newbies might like the bells and whistles of the new format. Others might prefer the old. We can easily check two forums.

I am thinking of suggesting something like this

www.qbasic.com (simple page as it is now)
- Forums
- Files
- whatever....

Then the Forums page should have

- "Home" which leads back to www.qbasic.com

- QBasic Forum - modern format
this should point directly to the no-login newbie help forum. There, the "home" link should go back to the Forums page. There is already a way to reach the other related forums.

- QBasic Forum - classic format.
this is The QBasic Forum. I should insert a "home" link to the Forums page.

- QBNews.com - Some QBasic, mostly Freebasic (Hoping they will include a link to the Forums page

- ... etc. (any active QBasic related forum we can find)

Now when we want to check QBasic questions, we have some more convenient links to quickly go to.

At the max, we have the new and classic no-login forums for newbies. Quick and easy to use and really no different except for format.

If I owned QBasic.com, I would not have put up an additional forum, but I see no reason to complain. Mark, obviously, does what he thinks best. I have no problem with cooperating to make it work for the benefit of all, and I plan to be active on that forum insofar as helping newbies is concerned. I would be on a lot of forums, if it weren't for the login hassle which I hate.
