Do you play chess?

If you wanted to play Kriegspiel with me, normally we would have to be in the same room with a referee. We each set up our boards as we see fit. The referee has the only real board. Then white moves and the referee tells black to move, etc., while keeping his board accurate.

If you wanted to play by correspondence, you would need a referee whom you correspond with, etc. The players would not correspond amoung themselves.

Well, the program we developed in QBasic performs the function of a referee.
